I took a leisurely stroll through the labyrinthine city and arrived at the construction company. The thought of owning my own home makes me a little nervous.
I enter the building company and talk to the receptionist. I told her that I had ordered a mobile home from Jill, and she immediately called Jill to come over.
"Oh, there you are. This way."
Skipping the greetings, Jill-san walks to the back of the house. Well, is she going to show me the house? At any rate, I can't remain puzzled, so I follow Jill's lead.
We left the building through the back door and went to the back, where we saw a two-story stone building. Was that the house I had asked for? It is wide and more powerful than I expected.
"Well, all we have to do now is to put in the windows and we're done. I made the wooden frames as you said, but is the glass ready?"
I was hoping for a little more time to soak in the afterglow of my home, but Jill was too impatient. I took out the glass panes that Nomos had made for me and showed them to Jill.
At first, I was going to make the windows smaller because of the strong sunlight, but now that there is shade from the spirit tree and the forest is growing, I decided to make the windows bigger and put them in all the rooms to enjoy the view. Especially, the windows in the living room are quite large.
I asked Nomos to use extra-thick window glass for strength. Opening and closing the windows will be a little more difficult, but since we are going to have Sylphy and the others basically control the temperature inside the house, we will only open the windows when we need to ventilate.
"Wow, this is great! The thickness is uniform and the glass is not cloudy or tinted. Where did you get this? You'd have to have a pretty good facility to do that."
Jill-san was biting at the thing. But I can't tell him that a great spirit of the earth made it.
"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you where it came from.
"Hmm, is there some kind of technical secret? If so, can I get my hands on this glass?"
It's not so much the technology that's secret, but the maker that's the secret. He is checking the glass panes, as if he really likes this glass panes. Did he come up with some interesting architectural idea?
But I don't think it's right to ask nomos to make glass for business over and over again. I'm afraid of using the Great Spirit for business too easily, so let's just say it's impossible.
"It's impossible to get commercial use. I can't get them for business. They were only specially prepared for me because I was going to build a house.
"...... sorry to hear that."
I'm sorry. It hurts me to lie to a craftsman like Jill. A little depressed, Gilles called the craftsmen together and installed the glass into the wooden frame he had made in front of me. It was a wonderful job, and it was done in no time at all. We saw a glimpse of his ability to build a house in 20 days. Not only Sara and the others were impressed.
"Craftsman." "Neat." "Amazing."
Sylphy, Belle and Tulu, in particular, are deeply impressed. Tulu can sort of understand, but I wonder if the wind spirits like crafts too.
"All right! It's done. Come inside and I'll show you around."
Jill beckons me over, and I finally step into my home.
"Well, take off your shoes here and put on these slippers.
We all take out the slippers that Sarah and the others picked out for us yesterday and put them on. This continent has cleaning magic, and it is supposed to be a shoes-only style, but since we have wooden floors and it feels strange to wear shoes in the room, we decided to leave them off.
I had never felt like taking off my shoes in my old house made of hollowed-out rocks, but in a proper house, slippers would be more comfortable for me.
From here, Jill leads us around the house. On the first floor, there is a kitchen, a large bathroom, and a toilet. Then we look around the large living room, the main attraction of the house.
In the kitchen, there is a stove with a magical device and a faucet that emits water, and if you install a pipe outside the house in the water closet, water will normally flow out. I didn't know that because I used the water in the magic bag all the time, but I guess there are some high-tech tools.
The bath is also equipped with a magical device that can draw water and boil it in the same way. There is a bathtub that can comfortably accommodate five adults. At first I requested a wooden bath because I thought it looked rich, but I was told that it was troublesome to take care of, so I decided to go with a rock bath.
When I asked for the bath, Mr. Jill was a little disappointed, but I am glad I asked for it even if she was disappointed because of the quality of the bath. It seems that in this world where purification is available, baths are simply a pastime for rich people. It's a good way to relax and take away fatigue, though.
And the living room, the centerpiece of this house, is simply a large space. I thought it was enough for everyone to gather, but Sylphy and the others insisted that the living room should be big enough for more spirits and for everyone to have a party.
I gave them permission because I thought it would be better to have a room where everyone can gather, even if not for banquets, as there would certainly be more opportunities to contract with spirits in the future. But it is quite spacious when I actually see it. I wonder if it will be just right if we put some furniture in it.
On the second floor, there is a common space in front of the stairs and five other large rooms. The room I will be using will be partitioned into two and the back will be used as a bedroom.
We all had a good time touring the inside of the house, and one thing became clear to me. Trying to build a house by myself is a foolhardy thing to do. There are some magical tools installed in the house, but they are so carefully made one by one that I would not be able to do such a careful work if I were to build it by myself.
A mansion... I guess I'd need the help of a professional if I were to build it. I don't think it's a good idea to take them to the land of the dead either. I was surprised that the magic bag can contain this house, so I'll have to think of some way to make it, even if I have the chance to build a mansion.
"What do you think?"
Jill asked me shortly. You're asking me what I think of the house. I look around at all of them, and they don't seem to have any complaints. I'm happy, too, so that's not a problem.
"It's great. "Thank you, Jill, for a great house."
I bowed my head, and Sarah and Belle bowed theirs, too. I don't know about Sarah and the others, but I don't think they can see me. But they might understand my feelings, and they are cute, so it doesn't matter.
"Well, I hope you like it. Lucky for you, the house is mobile. Bring it to me if you need anything. I'll pay you, but I'll fix it."
...... I see. So if it breaks, you can bring it to them and they will fix it. It's really convenient to be able to take the house with you.
"I'll ask you to fix it for me then. Can I put this house in storage now?
"Yes, that's fine."
When I touch the house with my hand and think of storing it, the house in front of me disappears in an instant. I thought the same thing when I stored the dragon, but it is very strange to see such a large object disappear in an instant. Jill asked me if I wanted to work here again, but I declined.
If I really had a magic bag, I wouldn't have any trouble finding a job. Well, I guess I don't have to work if I sell the magic bag.
I leave the building company after buying an extra door for the distillery, etc., and using the magic bag installed by Jill.
"Yuta. Are you happy with your house?"
As I was walking to the furniture shop, Bell jumped into my chest and asked me.
(Yes, I'm very happy.)
I answer while patting Belle on the head so that she won't notice that I'm outside. I'm sure I'm actually happy, but I haven't lived there yet, so I don't really feel it yet.
"Do you have Belle's room?"
Belle tilts her head. In case you remember that I told you that the room for the spirits will be a big house once the sanctuary is decided.
But I'm just asking because I'm kind of interested in the rooms. ...... I have my own room, and even if we gave Sarah and the others one room each, we'd still have one room left over. I've ordered furniture for all the rooms. .......
(Belle, do you want a room?)
"I want it!"
Belle responds to my question with a big smile. So you want it. It doesn't seem to make sense since it can't be materialized without a sanctuary, but if Belle wants it, then so be it.
(Well, we can't have Belle's personal room until we build a big house, but we can make one room for her and her friends. How about that?)
It would be better to make one room for the child. If we put a lot of toys and other things in there, they will never stop using it. We can buy a lot of balls and stuffed animals made of demon stuff at Marie's general store to make a kid's room.
"I'm so happy!"
Belle was happy to see me and after she nuzzled her head on my chest, she flew to Rain and the others to report the news. I could see from the way she flew that she was excited. It makes me happy to see her so happy.
Hearing Belle's report, Rain and the others came to me with "Coo-coo," "Hey, I'm happy," "Coo-coo," to express their joy. I was sad that I couldn't pet them openly because I was outside, but I patted their heads firmly.
"Yuta, are you okay?"
Sylphy asked me if I was all right. I know what she meant, because she was looking at Deanne, who was flying towards me with a smile on her face.
"Yuta, I want my sister's room too!"
Right.
(Dine's room will have to wait until after the sanctuary is built and the big house is built. She's your sister, so be patient. I've never heard of an adult room, and we'll be taking over the living room for the banquet, so that shouldn't be a problem, right?)
"Moo...... I know. I know you'll put up with it for the sake of the little one. Yuta, I understand."
......It's sad that little kids have to put up with so much for their even smaller siblings, but in this case it's not a problem, is it? I was a little relieved that he backed down so easily.
As we were walking around talking, we arrived at a furniture shop and talked to a cheerful lady.
"Oh, hey, it's you. Welcome. Everything you ordered is ready. It was a large order, so I had to ask for help from the surrounding workshops, but we made a lot of money. Ha-ha-ha-ha."
Cheerful as ever. You don't have to tell me things I haven't heard.
"I know you're here to pick it up. I can't put it here, so it's in storage. I'll show you. You! I'll be out in a minute. Okay, this way."
Things proceeded completely at the lady's pace, and I was taken to the warehouse where I stored all the furniture I had ordered. She took me to the warehouse to store all the furniture I had ordered, and when it looked like we were about to start small talk, I told her I had to go and quickly left the warehouse.
That was a close call. If you get caught up in her pace, you can't get out.
"Well, we still have some time before we go to the Adventurer's Guild...what should we do?
I muttered, and Sylphy gave me an immediate answer.
"Yuta, let's stock up on alcohol. We may leave the labyrinth city depending on what we discuss."
......These words naturally attracted the attention of Dineh and Dolly. Well, I've started distilling and I promised Nomos that I'd buy all the booze, so I'd better go buy some. Then we'll have lunch and take Sarah and the others back to Marie's. I'm sure we'll be served a sumptuous lunch back at Marie's, but right now I'm in the mood for street food, so let's just eat it and go back.
Then it's just me, Sylphy, and Dineh to the Adventurers' Guild. Belle and Dory will be safe with Sarah and the others.
