We set up a room for Sarah and her family, a room for Gina, and a nursery for Belle and her children. Everyone seems to be happy, which makes me kind of happy.
I move to my room and quickly arrange the furniture. I put the bed in the back room, and in the front room, I go a bit overboard and buy a sofa and a table, like in a drawing room. ...... though I don't think I'll ever have anyone over for a reception.
When I was in Japan, I had a room full of my hobbies, but in another world, there is not even a TV. Unfortunately, you can't live your life leaning against a no-good sofa, playing video games and picking chips. Then it's best to make the room a little more respectable for the master's dignity.
"Okay, that's it. Let's have dinner."
The faces of Belle and Sarah, who were looking around the room, light up when I tell them that we are going to have dinner after we finish arranging the furniture. It's nice to be able to enjoy a meal every time when you eat three meals a day, isn't it?
"Master, how are you going to cook? I'll take care of it if you want."
Gina hears dinner and comes over to talk to me. Gina's cooking. I'd like to try it, but I'm pressed for time right now, so maybe next time.
"I've stocked up on food in the magic bag I showed you at lunch, so all I have to do now is lay it out. I still cook occasionally, so I'll ask you to help me then. Oh, and Sara wants to learn to cook too, so you can teach her the basics with me. When we get to the labyrinth city, I'm going to teach her how to cook at Toruku's inn, so just the basics will be enough."
"You're going to learn to cook from Mr. Torque? That's great, that's a famous inn that serves food that was not available in this country. I heard they got the recipe from a foreigner... ...... Did the master teach you?"
Gina is coming on to me. If I'm going to be approached by a beautiful woman, I'd like it to be a little more s*xy.
"Yeah, I taught you, didn't I? I knew the recipe, but I didn't have the skills, so I had Mr. Torque make it for me. If you're interested, I'll ask Gina if she'd like to learn how to make it. However, if you want to use the recipe you learned in the diner, you need to talk to Mr. Toruku and Gina's father."
"Thank you, Master! Oh, but I also have to train as a genie surgeon, is that really such a good idea?"
Good, you didn't forget about the genie.
"I'm sure Mr. Toruku has his reasons, and it's only in the morning so it won't be a problem. It would be great if Gina and Sara could learn how to cook different kinds of food and I could help them out too.
Gina may be able to assist with cooking when we are busy, but we will have to discuss that with Mr. Toruku first.
"Yuta, dinner!"
While I was talking with Gina, Belle and the others complained to me, clutching their stomachs. This is a recently learned signal for being hungry. Where do they learn it from? And spirits aren't supposed to learn to be hungry, right?
He moves into the living room with everyone in tow, wondering. It seems strange to eat in the living room, but it's another world, so I guess it doesn't matter. We set up a big table with a lot of food on it, which we bought so that everyone can eat together.
It's our first dinner in our new home, so let's be extravagant. The menu will be the same, but we'll serve a variety of dishes. ...... also has dragon meat, and the more dishes we have on the table, the better we feel.
"Yuta, will you do me a favor?"
Deanne talks to me cutely with her hands folded in front of her chest. I wonder if the emphasis on her breasts is a strategy? I know what you're asking me to do, so I'll tell you first.
"Well, two ales for the celebration. The rest you'll have to wait until the banquet.
"Thank you, Yuta. I'm very happy for you.
Sylphy and the others are happy to see us in the background. Perhaps the emphasis on the breasts was arranged by one of them? If it's an operation, we have to be strong in spirit, or they'll take a lot of booze.
"Gina? What's wrong?"
While everyone is screaming about eating this or that, I call out to Gina, who is frozen in place.
"There are a lot of dishes I've never seen before. ......"
I see...that's why. Come to think of it, besides Gina, there are many dishes that Dine and Dolly have not eaten, and Nomos has not been with us for most of the time in the labyrinth city, so there are many dishes that we do not know at all. Maybe you should have made it smaller and prolonged the fun instead of putting out so many at once. ...... Well, it's a little late for that.
"Most of the dishes are prepared by Mr. Toruku, so if you like any of them, you should remember them and ask him questions."
I can't explain every detail if it's just me. I push Gina, who is staring at the food, to take a seat.
"Well then, everyone, since we're here today, let's have a toast. Everyone grab a glass.
Gina was surprised to see so many glasses floating in the air, but she was not distraught since we had talked about the meal with the spirits during the day. Explanations in advance are important, aren't they?
"Today is a happy day when we moved to a new house and made new friends. Let's eat a lot and have a good time. Cheers!
Cheers!
After the toast, we get right to cooking. Belle and the others explain to the Great Spirits the dishes they have never eaten before, and Sarah and the others explain to Gina. I'll start on the wyvern steaks as planned. I pull a thick steak in front of me.
With a knife and fork, I cut a thick slice of steak and stuff it into my mouth. As I bite into the meat, I feel a different kind of chewiness from that of the Assault Dragon.
Unlike the assault dragon, the meat is more elastic and almost chicken-like in texture. Is it because they fly in the sky that their meat is similar to that of birds? It is a very tasty meat full of juices.
We continue to enjoy our meal, fighting off the large spirits who are begging for another round of drinks. I don't think there's anything wrong with one more round of drinks, but I feel like there's no limit to the number of rounds I can have, so I do my best to refuse.
Then Dineh asks me for a drink with the same pose as before, and I refuse with a strong spirit not to be defeated. Nomos was saying something to Dine, so it must have been Nomos who was pulling the strings behind my back. The party is about to turn into a feast, and I'm a little put off by the aggressive spirits who are asking for drinks.
Both Gina and the spirits seemed to like the food, which they had never eaten before, and it turned out to be a pretty lively and enjoyable dinner party.
"Well then, since drinks will be served from now on, it's time for Belle and Sarah to take a rest," said Gina. Gina is ...... tired after everything she's been through today, so I think it's best to stop her."
In this country, it is said that there is no problem to drink alcohol at the age of fifteen, but it would be a hurdle for those who are not accustomed to drinking to suddenly have a banquet with the spirits of the world. It would be a pity if you get caught up with heavy drinkers and have a hangover at the beginning of your memorable new life.
I'm a pretty good drinker! Gina says. Oh no, it seems she's got a hot mouth, too. It seems like the land of the dead is full of drinkers. I try to convince her that a hangover is a bad omen on the first morning in a new place.
I'm sure I like drinking a lot too, but I'm not convinced that I've been on the side of stopping it since I came to the other world.
"Yuta, Beru and the others are going to sleep in the room..." "Coo-coo-coo..." "We're all going to sleep together..." "Coo-coo-coo..." "Hoo-hoo..." "Puggyoo..."
Bell and his friends declare with excited expressions. They look like they're having so much fun. It's not the same situation, but I've seen them excited like this when they have a sleepover at their friend's house.
"Hmm, that sounds like fun. Well, let's go to your room."
I think it's so cute that Belle and her friends sleep so tight in their beds. Anyway, I give Sylphy and the others a keg of ale and we all go upstairs.
After saying goodnight to each of them, I leave Sarah and Gina and go into the children's room, where Belle and the others jump into bed and lie down on the floor. A little girl and a boy, a dolphin, a fox, a blakiston's owl, and an urchin are all lounging around on the bed, playing with each other. It's chaos, but it's still funny.
"How do you like sleeping?
"soft!" "coo," "coo," "coo," "hoo," "hoo," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga," "pga.
Apparently, it's not that bad. They don't need to sleep on the bed, so this might be a precious scene. I'll keep it in my memory.
"Good. I'm going to turn off the light. Good night, everyone."
Turn off the light and leave the room. Even after dark, I could hear the happy voices from the beds, and I guess we'll be playing for a while without sleeping.
I have a few drinks with Sylphy and the others and call it a night. Since I told Gina not to have a hangover on the first day, it would be a problem for me to have a hangover too.
I go back to the living room and join Sylphy and the others who are gulping down their ale.
"Oh, Yuta, you're back! I think it's time for a glass of red wine."
Nomos happily asks for a barrel of red wine. He was subtly keeping his distance from us when Sara and the others were there, but now that they're gone, he's at the top of his game. I wonder why he has such a hard time with children. If he can't see the spirits, there should be no chance for him to be bothered by children.
"I want white for my sister. Yuta, please!"
Deanne demanded a glass of white wine in a losing battle. Since we're celebrating today, I guess three barrels won't be a problem.
"We'll serve three barrels today. What about Sylphy and Dolly?"
I'm fine with that.
"Me too."
Sylphy and Dolly seem to have no problem with the red and white. Well, that's all right then. He takes out a cask of red wine and a cask of white wine from his magic bag and puts them next to the cask of ale. I'll start with the ale.
I shove my mug into the ale barrel, scoop it up, and down my throat in one gulp. This house is not like the last one that was hollowed out of a rock, but a house that was built by a proper carpenter. Now that I have a home of my own, I'm a man in my own right. Sake is good.
I listen to the stories of the bases I've been away from, and we talk about the ocean maturation that Nomos was concerned about, and drink in a pleasant mood. I never thought I'd end up with my own home in another world, but I'll do my best to be happy.
