Leon shivered at the thought of what Julia would do to him after which he glared at Benji who was reveling in what would happen.
Lina shook her head at the two assistants who had gotten close to each other over time.
'I'm glad that Leon is by his side.' She smiled at the childish quarrels between them.
Benji was not someone who opened up to anyone quite easily.
In fact, Lina knew that even now he kept everyone at an arm's distance, preventing them from getting closer to him, more than what he was comfortable with.
However, she could see that Leon was making a space for himself in Benji's life through these petty confrontations they had almost every day.
Leon already was an easy-going person which made it possible for him to be friendly with everyone in the office.
Everyone liked him and he was the assistant that every employee looked up to as he was easy to approach and not haughty about his position in the office.
Benji, on the other hand, was someone who had suddenly shown up one day which made everyone vigilant of him.
'His fierce expressions and his 'stay away from me' attitude most certainly don't help him much either.' Lina sighed at Benji's personality which she was quite familiar with.
She knew that if people got to know him better, they would realize that he might be a reclusive person but not a frightening one.
The same had taken place in Obsidia Designs' main branch, which she had established back in America.
It took many years for her employees to understand the attitude of Benji, the scary-looking yet kind assistant.
She had assumed that the same would take place here as well, as Benji's silent demeanor had only intensified ever since he had moved to this new place to be by her side.
However, as she now glanced around the room, she could see that the other employees were watching the conversation taking place between the two assistants.
Leon's jovial personality and the fact that he stuck close to the scary man without any problems was an eye-opener for the rest of the employees.
Thanks to Leon approaching Benji and them getting along with each other, they were not as worried as they were in the beginning.
In fact, what Lina did not know was that Benji was getting quite popular among the employees of the Marketing Department as they would seek him out if they were ever stuck in some matter.
To everyone's surprise, Benji would be kind enough to help them out and even give them tips on how to tackle that issue the next time if he wasn't around.
Therefore, Lina's concern about her assistant being ostracized by the employees in Obsidia was not one that was needed.
If Benji had heard about her concerns then he would have chuckled while shaking his head.
After all, it did not matter to him if he was accepted or ostracized by these people.
All he cared about was his Boss and those that he chose as his friends and those close to them.
While Lina was busy watching the reactions of the employees here, Derek had appeared next to her.
"Miss, I brought your lunch over." He revealed the reason for his arrival here.
Early this morning, Assistant Benji had called him to inform him that Lina had returned to the country, as that had been the excuse they had made for her absence.
Benji revealed that he had picked her up from the airport last night and since she had some urgent work, he had dropped her at the hotel.
Since Derek had no clue about the truth regarding Lina's 'work trip', he did not question Benji's claims and after receiving his instructions, he complied with them and came straight to that hotel while making sure to arrive right on time.
Thankfully, while he had been waiting outside that hotel for his Young Miss, he had not caught sight of the other pair of Master and Assistant that had walked out a short while after Lina had.
He was happy to see his Miss and hence had missed the appearance of Reuben and Trigger who were walking towards the exit after Lina had taken her seat in the car.
If Derek had seen them then he would have figured something out but that had not taken place.
Instead, he remained clueless as he pick his Miss and her Assisant up before driving them to the Luo Residence this morning.
He even drove them to work later on and once he dropped Lina and Benji at Obsidia, he had informed Mrs. Ping about the Miss being back from her work trip.
The old lady was overjoyed and worrying that Lina must be missing her home-cooked meals, she packed lunch both for Lina and Benji.
Derek then was asked to hand over the hot meal to their Miss and her hard-working assistant at their workplace.
When the chauffeur had arrived at the floor where his Miss worked, he found Leon gawking at the boxes in his hands like a greedy beast.
Therefore, when Leon offered to hand them over to Lina who wasn't around, he refused right away and chose to wait for her until she returned.
Now that his Miss and her assistant were here, Derek ignored that sarcastic statement Leon had uttered after being rejected by him.
Instead, he headed towards Lina and informed her about his reason for arriving here.
Listening to his words, Lina's attention shifted from the quibbling man-child and landed on the box in his hands.
She nodded before glancing at Benji who had also looked at her and Derek.
The key to open her locked office was in Benji's pocket so he ignored Leon and hurried to open the door for them.
Lunchtime was set to commence any second now which implied that the rest of the employees were also preparing to head to the cafeteria on this floor.
Leon had already seen the boxes of home-cooked meals which Derek had brought over and recalled that he too had brought the same.
However, comparing the taste of the food prepared by his little sister, the wannabe Masterchef, and the actual Masterchef of the Yang family who prepared Lina's meals, there was already a clear winner.
Therefore, he gulped his saliva as an appeasing smile made its way onto his face.
"Lina…" He drawled out his words just as the doors were unlocked.
Benji understood what this greedy fool desired and the others too had caught up to what was taking place when they saw Leon's ardent gaze on the boxes.
"Did you bring your lunch?" Lina did not answer the obvious question he wished to ask but inquired about something else.
Leon gave her a weak and painful nod as there was one that his little sister had packed for him.
'Shameless!' She sneered when she saw the look of unwillingness on his face.
His sister was working hard but Leon would rather eat someone else's lunch than taste the one she had prepared for him.
Giving it a little thought, Lina gave him a slight nod, indicating that she understood.
"Bring your lunch to my room if you want to eat mine." She declared directly without beating around the bush.
'We have a lot to talk about anyway.' She shrugged at him, not bothering about the fearful expression which he now had after listening to her words.
Leon could still recall vividly how Lina had tricked him into eating his sister's horrid meals in exchange for the one her chefs had prepared.
On one hand, he was dreading the very thought of punishing his taste buds with his sister's home-cooked meal while on the other hand, he was eager to gobble up the one which Lina's skillful chef had prepared.
'You have to lose something to gain something…' He reminded himself that not everything was free in this world.
With such solemn thoughts in his mind, Leon straightened his back and gave her a stiff nod before heading back to his cubicle to pick up the lunch he had brought from home.
The few employees who had stuck around to watch how things unfolded, all rolled their eyes at the dramatic expressions of Assistant Leon who behaved as though he was about to sacrifice himself for the greater good of the world.
Benji scoffed at him and gestured to Lina that she better ignore him and enter her office.
Thus while Leon was building up the courage to pick up his bento box, Lina and the rest had already entered her office without waiting for him.
