After taking their seat in the exclusive lounge inside the airplane, they forgot about everything else and continued with their work.
Eventually the number of iced teas that Reuben had been sipping on worked their magic and he decided to take a break and continue after their lunch.
After finishing his business, he started walking back to his lounge, but stopped midway.
'That's the girl from before! Damn, she's going back to China and she's in the same flight as me!' He exclaimed.
'That time she was talking to that pest with the curly hair so I thought that they were together but I can't find any traces that the baby has been around. So maybe they just met before the flight.' Saying so, he looked around to find the curly haired pest with the baby.
Not finding them around, he sighed and then continued to observe her.
He then looked at her side profile without any annoying interruptions this time. He saw that her brows furrowed as she struggled with what to do next.
'It's the very first time that I was captivated by someone. That too, by someone who was just standing there, trying to stop a baby from crying.'
He had met many women who were trying to get his attention by using different tactics but this was the first time someone succeeded and it looked like she wasn't even trying.
This thought caused him to smile.
'That smile she gave, when she saw that the baby had stopped crying just blew me away!! If only that bastard Kim hadn't interrupted me.'
He remembered the scene that he had witnessed earlier.
Dark brown hair with hints of violet cascading down her shoulder with that all black ensemble that made her look mean but adorable. He then shook his head at his conflicting opinions.
Her smile caused Reuben to only look at her as his surroundings faded away, but that was until he heard that 'tsk tsk'. Then remembering where he was and how oddly he had just behaved, he quickly turned and left.
'I couldn't even admire her beauty properly!!' He exclaimed.
Looking down at her slender and long neck which was visible because she had put her hair up in a bun, he felt the need to touch it.
He saw that her concentration was completely on her work and she hadn't noticed him yet, so he peeped to look into her tab. Seeing how her hands flew across the screen as she painted the tulip different shades of blue and violet, he just stood and admired her art.
He saw her admiring her finished work and sign a beautiful *LY* at the bottom. He wondered whether they were her initials.
'LY, huh? I'm sure she must have a lovely name. But why do I feel like I've seen those initials somewhere before?'
He was lost in thoughts and did not notice that she had put her tab down and was now stretching to relax her stiff muscles.
Still in his thoughts he moved to take his handkerchief out to wipe his hands dry, then looking back at her, he froze.
She had just turned to ease the muscles in her neck and was now staring right at him.
'Are those contacts that she's wearing? How can her brown eyes have tiny flecks of gold and green? Beautiful!!'
Admiring her eyes, he followed them as they moved from his eyes to his jaw then finally rested on his hands.
Seeing that she continued looking at his fingers, without moving her gaze. He was annoyed as he wanted her to look up at him.
He cleared his throat louder again, when she ignored him the first time. This time she heard him and moved her gaze back to his face.
Looking at her dazed eyes, he was proud of himself. That he could captivate her just as she had captivated him earlier.
Raising his eyebrow, he smirked at her.
He saw an inner conflict in her eyes. Her expressions shifted from awkwardness to guilt then he saw her roll her eyes.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to introduce himself to someone else for the very first time after he became the President of Ming Enterprises.
He heard her say "Creep" then she turned her head and completely ignored his existence.
Shell shocked at what he had just heard, he looked at her who was now back at fiddling with her tablet.
His lips twitched and he tightly clenched his jaws, stopping the introduction that he was about to make.
The beautiful scene he had imagined of their introduction disappeared.
Poof!
Left in its place was an icy cold gaze and the temperature around him dropped.
He gave her one last look before stomping his way back to his lounge.
Opening the door with a 'thud', he strode to his seat like he was on his way to some war.
Assistant Kim, who had just started eating his meal, choked on the long noodles that he had just slurped.
With his face turning a deep red because of the coughing, he slowly lifted his eyes to see the Emperor looking at him with a death glare.
"Sorry, Boss" 'That my almost choking to death annoyed you.'
He hurriedly said but he swallowed the last part of the sentence, if he wanted to remain inside the airplane and not fall to his death from thousands of feet above the ground.
Mathew tried to recollect if he had done anything that could've pissed the Emperor off. But found that he had done no such thing and rejoiced.
He wondered who was stupid enough to offend his boss to the extent that he looked like he was about to execute them.
Trying to minimize his presence, Mathew curled up in his seat and ate his lunch without making a single sound.
After coming back into the lounge, Reuben's mood just kept falling.
Remembering the scene from before, he felt angry and annoyed. He thought that he found someone new and interesting. Someone who wasn't scheming her way into his bed.
She looked like a breath of fresh air, calming and soothing his tensions.
He knew that it wasn't love at first sight nor did he want to fall in love with her. He just wanted a change from the routine. It would have been fine to just stay friends. He was more than okay with that.
But the moment she opened her mouth and uttered that word, all his delusions came crashing down.
Oh how he wished he had just observed her from afar and left it at that. Now that he came in contact with her, that beautiful dream also crashed and burned.
She called him a CREEP!
'From which angle do I look like a creep?'
Then he looked up and saw his assistant trying to stuff a massive piece of chicken nugget into his mouth.
'Now if she calls him a creep, I would agree with her 100%. But how dare she call me a creep!'
Again remembering the scene, he snatched the plate of nuggets from Assistant Kim and started eating them.
Mathew Kim saw his boss devour his nuggets and felt that life was unfair.
'He's definitely stuffing those nuggets into his mouth but how come he still looks so good. I do the same and my wife calls me a Pig!'
The plate of nuggets was soon empty but it still couldn't ease the fire in Reuben's heart.
'Creep? A creep?? How insolent!!!' Then stopped his train of thought.
'Staying with this stupid eunuch, I really am treating myself like an Emperor.' Rolling his eyes, he chugged the fresh glass of iced tea.
Trying to forget this embarrassing episode of his life, he closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead.
After lunch, he engrossed himself in work and only stopped when it was dinner time. He tried not to go to the washroom as that would mean meeting that insolent girl.
The plan worked fine and he fell asleep quickly as he had tired himself out with his massive workload.
But he soon understood the biggest flaw in his plan sometime in the middle of the night.
That other glass of iced tea.
His love for iced tea was going to be his reason for embarrassment soon.
Deciding that he can't possibly stay in this state till the plane lands, he put on a brave face and walked out of the lounge.
He tiptoed his way past the sleeping passengers and soon stood in front of the insolent girl who dared to insult him.
She was curled up in her seat, sleeping with a frown on her face. He looked down and saw that her blanket had fallen on the floor.
'Maybe she's cold. Whatever, let's just help her out since I'm a magnanimous person.'
He bent down, picked her blanket up and dusted it a bit before he tucked her safely in her blanket.
The moment she felt the warm blanket around her, her frown eased and she gave a carefree smile in her sleep.
He chuckled looking at her, but stopped when he remembered the events that took place earlier.
'No, don't go soft on her!' Steeling himself to her adorable sleeping face, he turned and walked to the washroom.
On his way back, he forced himself to look straight ahead and did not look at her.
Then he fell asleep after reaching his lounge safely.
The next morning, he woke up refreshed and saw Assistant Kim all ready to get off the flight.
It looked like, if he could, he would just jump out of the plane then run back home.
Reuben rolled his eyes looking at his antics.
Soon the flight landed and after getting off he went to make sure that his mother's luggage would be sent to Ming Residence before he reached home.
As he walked out of the airport, he saw the face which haunted him in his sleep.
'Argh, why did I have to see her the moment I walked out?'
Then he saw something that made him narrow his eyes.
'Oh look at that! I'm a creep but that curly haired pest gets her number. Now I'm 100% sure that she has a problem with her eyes.'
Looking at her one last time, he decisively turned and walked away in the direction of their car.
'Goodbye, insolent girl. It's better if we don't cross paths again cause I don't know what I'll do to you. I'm already being pretty lenient by pardoning your offense.'
Assistant Kim who was watching the drama unfold in front of his eyes wished he had some popcorn right now!
'Ohhh.. So the girl already has eyes on someone else. My poor boss was jilted before he even got a chance.'
Thinking this way, Mathew Kim decided that he would help his boss out if he ever showed interest in pursuing her.
Then got into the car which headed to their HQ, Ming Ent.
'Time for the Emperor's morning court session. Wonder what drama we'll have today in the office.' He rubbed his palms looking like an evil mastermind.
Then looking at the buildings they passed by, he was glad to be back home.
