Chapter 23 - Dream Guy

The ground floor of Yang manor had a huge Main Hall in which Lina and the others were sitting in. There was also the dining room, the kitchen with the Butler's living quarters right to it.

The first floor had the guest rooms, the library and a study . In case the guests need to use it.

The second floor had the room made specifically for the children. It had four massive bedrooms, they had their own study table inside and could decorate it however they wished to. They also had a home theatre to watch movies in.

The third floor was for the elders in the family. There were three rooms. One for Lina's parents, Uncle Pat and the last one was for Uncle Ace.

Right now Lina and Wade were in her room, sitting in the balcony and seeing the beautiful rose garden that she had planted with her grandmother as a child.

"Butler Ping has done a good job taking care of them." Wade praised, seeing the different colored roses.

"When was the last time you entered Yang Manor?" She asked in a serious tone.

"Not since Mandy and Lucille created that scandal. So about four months."

He along with his brother and Uncle Ace had moved out after the scandal broke out.

"It's been a very long time since we went back to the Luo house, so it's fine."  He tried to convince Lina, when he saw her frown.

"But this is your house too!" She looked at him with a sad smile.

"I know kiddo. Plus we would still be neighbors. You can always run over to my place." He joked.

"Run? To your place? Only if I am out of my mind!" She hit his hand.

The Luo Residence was technically just opposite the Yang Manor, but they were separated by several acres of land between the two estates.

They spoke for a little longer and then Wade returned to his room to freshen up before dinner.

------

Mandy who entered her room was thinking about something seriously and did not even bother looking at her mom, who wanted  to talk to her.

'What is wrong with this girl now?' Lucille thought, looking at the door that was shut on her face. She then turned away and walked up to her room, deciding what to wear for dinner.

Inside her room, Mandy sat on the big princess themed bed with the pink canopy and thought about what had just happened.

"He may seem like that guy, but brother Wade is not that guy. I am sure of it." She said hugging her pillow with a dreamy look on her face.

Mandy thought of the first time she met that guy. The guy that often appeared in her dreams later.

She was new to the country and was grateful that her mother had introduced her to Jeanette Liang, who was a few years younger than her but she was happy to make a new friend in this strange place.

The scandal had just broken out and she was given the taste of her new found popularity, thanks to the Yang family. Some people were treating her as a pitiful existence while others thought of her as something to be ashamed about.

But she did not  care about all that and was focussed on meeting Jeanette Liang's friends at the club that she was invited to.

She wanted to make a good impression on them, so that she could enter their circle successfully.

But before she could even enter the private room at the club, something strange happened.

It was all a daze to her, but she remembered that someone had rescued her.

The man with blonde hair, he looked at her and smiled.

Then the next thing she remembers is waking up in her bed at Yang Manor.

She had always thought that it was a dream, until she met Wade.

'Maybe I really did meet that man at the club. I'll try asking  Brother Wade about it later.'

Thinking of being able to meet her dream guy again made her squeal into her pillow and soon she was lost in her fantasy world.

-----

Before dinner time, Wade went to Lina's room and both of them walked to the hall to wait for Patrick.

They sat on the couch and discussed about Obsidia.

"So what post do you think I should apply for?" She inquired while rubbing her chin.

"How about the President's? The one that you are supposed to work as? Rather than making me slog my ass doing all your work!" He complained.

"No way! I am not going to expose myself. Not so soon anyway." She then gave a wicked smile.

'That smile even scares me sometimes.' Wade rubbed the goosebumps on his arms.

"Fine! But you have to take over half my workload when you work there!" He tried negotiating.

"Of course, I wouldn't want my fav bro to faint from overworking." She then giggled seeing his face twist.

Wade remembered the time he fainted while carrying books that had to be put back on the shelves when he worked as a librarian in Lina's college.

"I have low blood sugar!" He yelled and pouted.

Lina laughed louder, holding her stomach. Wade also laughed, seeing her.

Soon they heard the signature heels noise coming from the side door.

'They would be the worst spies!' Lina shook her head then looked at Wade and smirked.

In came Mandy and Lucille, dressed like they were going to a party.

The pair sitting looked at the pair standing. Both had confusion written on their faces.

"Are you going out, Aunt Lucille?" Asked Lina.

She looked down at what she was wearing, then at what Mandy and Lucille were wearing.

She was in her silver silk pjs with her hair tied in a messy bun while Wade wore his sky blue with black vertical stripes pjs which made him look like a prisoner from a stylish prison.

On the other hand, Mandy wore blue jeans with a black button down shirt and had a full face of makeup while Lucille wore an expensive looking pale yellow dress that reached her calves.

'She's in good shape for a fifty year old.' Complimented Lina.

*cough*

Lucille, who saw Lina looking at her from top to bottom, coughed and moved to sit down.

"Patrick rarely comes home. But he came home yesterday because you arrived and I thought that he would come here again, so I dressed up for him." Lucille blushed and played with her fingers.

Mandy rolled her eyes looking at her mother acting like a teenager talking about her crush.

"He doesn't stay here often?" Wade asked, even though he knew the answer to the question.

"We've only met him a handful times since we moved in." Mandy was annoyed that her father who avoided them like the plague and did not bother to make up a rapport with her, was suddenly willing to come back home just for Lina.

Lina and Wade nodded their heads seriously.

They both knew exactly where Patrick Yang stayed to avoid coming in contact with these two.

But they would never tell them that.
