When Lina reached work, everyone was bustling about trying to get things approved by Wade before he left for his business meeting.
Anthony prepared his list of people who religiously bought her jewelry from the time that Obsidia opened its branch.
Lina was surprised seeing such a big list, usually it would take many years to get a dedicated and loyal clientele but she was happy that this was not a problem for her company.
She hung out with him for sometime and informed him about the welcome party on Sunday, to which he gladly agreed.
Skipping back to her office, she found Julia seriously writing something on her desk.
She had her black rimmed glasses on and was busy perusing the file in her hands. Her hair was tied in a low bun which made her look like the perfect secretary.
"Hey!" Lina stood in front of her and waved her hand.
"Hello, my fairy!" Julia happily waved back at her and saw Lina cringe at the new name that she received.
'This little girl is so entertaining! Look at that pouty face she's making. Kawaii!!' Julia had an undying affection for all things cute and regarded Lina as a cute little puppy who spreads sunshine.
Julia chuckled seeing her pout and offered her Leon's seat which was empty.
"So what can I do for you?" Julia asked as she put away the folder in her hand.
"Ummm.. As you know... I'm responsible for Mr Hitoshi and his team…" Lina played with her fingers and slowly spoke to her.
'Dammit! Why is this so difficult to ask? Julia looks so strict, what if she refuses to come along?' Lina started overthinking about things that haven't even happened yet.
"Yes..?" Julia was wondering where this conversation was going.
"Actually I organized a welcome dinner for them and wanted to ask if you would be interested in joining us!" She blurted out in one breath and waited to see her reaction.
'So this is what she was trying to say? Why was she so nervous?' Julia saw her nervous eyes and wondered.
"Of course I would love to join you. This way we get a chance to get to know each other better." Julia said and nodded her head.
"Really? Awesome!" Lina spoke with a loud voice which attracted the people who were sitting near them.
"Sorry..!" She turned towards when and said in an apologetic tone, to which they all replied with a nod and an accepting smile.
"I'll let you get back to work. I will send you the time and place later." She got up to leave when Julia stopped her.
She handed her phone to Lina and said.
"How are you going to send it if you don't even have my number?" Julia chuckled when she saw the look of realization on her face.
'I wish I could take a picture of that expression! That was a wallpaper worthy face.' She took back her phone after Lina saved her number in it and walked away.
As soon as Lina entered her office, all the other employees started speaking.
"Did you see that? Miss fairy smiled at me." The person who sat the closest to Julia said to his friends.
"Stop daydreaming! She smiled at me!" Spoke the lady who was also there.
"Does it matter who she was looking at? Did you see her smile? She is so cute! If only my daughter was half as cute as her!" This time it was a middle aged lady with glasses who spoke.
"Your daughter would murder you if she heard this." Julia said while giggling and she got a disgusted expression from that lady.
"Hmph..! What can she do other than lazing around the house. Look at Miss Lina, she seems about the same age as my daughter and she is already working at such a big company while all that idiot does is run after idols!" She huffed.
Everyone around laughed listening to her and she continued with her stories.
-----
Before lunch, Lina sent a text to Wade and went to eat with Julia and Leon.
*Have a safe trip, Wade! Make sure to get that contract and don't forget to buy me nice stuff before coming back!* She sent him a couple of kissy faces and put her phone away.
-----
On his way to the airport, Wade saw her text and laughed.
'This Nana and her gifts! She's never ever satisfied.' Shaking his head he saw his Asst Kirk looking at him.
"Kirk, when will Benji be arriving?" Wade asked him and saw him pulling out his phone to check his calendar.
"I spoke to him a few days back and he said that he would be here before next Saturday." Kirk put his phone away and answered him.
"Hmm.. I'm not happy about leaving her alone over here. Uncle Pat has not yet come back from his trip and she will be left alone for this weekend." He shared his troubles and asked Kirk for a solution.
'Uncle Simon told me that he had arranged for bodyguards to watch over her from afar. But that's when she's outside the house. What if something happens when she's inside?' He was worried that Lucille or Mandy might harm her in some way.
'Nana provoked Lucille the other night. What if she wants to take revenge?' He immediately texted Butler Ping to watch over Lina carefully until he got back.
Soon they arrived at the airport and he boarded his flight.
'I hope nothing much happens in my absence.' He thought as he looked out the window at the clouds surrounding them.
-----
For the rest of the day, Lina did nothing as her job would start when Hitoshi's team reached on Monday.
Before leaving, she met Miss Zhou and invited her and received a positive answer from her.
Saying her goodbyes, she walked out of the building and found Derek waiting for her.
"Young Miss!" He waved at her and opened the car's door.
Lina waved back and quickly walked to him and got inside. Derek went around and sat in the driver's seat and they soon left the Obsidia building premises.
'Such a mediocre car and she wants a chauffeur for that? Who is she trying to fool?'
Linda, the receptionist, was standing outside to hire a taxi and saw Lina get into her car. She had heard about Lina being called cupcake fairy and she did not like that one bit.
'So what if she can bake? I'm sure I can bake much better than her if I want to!'
She sat in the taxi that stopped in front of her and sent out a text.
'Let's see how long people keep calling you a fairy.' She smirked looking at her phone.
-----
In her car, Lina remembered the conversation she had with Stuart Bai. After inviting Irene, she went back to meet Stuart.
"Director? I am new here and am not well acquainted with Mr Oswald and Mr Ivan. So can you invite them for me?" Lina asked when she sat in front of him.
Stuart looked up from the reports about the various stores that Obsidia had and stared at her.
"Is it because you aren't acquainted or because you can't form a proper sentence in front of Ivan?" He hit the nail right on the mark and saw Lina coughing.
"Of course not! It's because I'm not acquainted." She stuck to her story.
"Ohhh…" He said knowingly and laughed.
"Fine, I'll invite them for you. But you owe me for this favour." He cunningly said and Lina happily nodded her head in agreement.
She forwarded the time and place to him and he said that he would complete this job before the day ended.
Looking at the gates of Yang Manor, Lina blushed, thinking about the dinner she will be having with that handsome guy, Ivan Zhou.
'Gosh! He has the exact qualities that I want in my ideal guy!'
Of course her qualities were all superficial, like his height, the broad chest, juicy lips and that beautiful, beautiful face.
In her fangirling daydream, she forgot about saying goodbye to Derek and walked into the house.
'Young Miss seems very happy, she couldn't stop smiling the entire ride back.' He shook his head and went to park the car.
As she walked in, she completely disregarded the other person in the hall and moved towards the stairs.
Mandy was talking on her phone while lying on the couch with her feet in the air.
"Look who finally decided to show her face here." Mandy said when she saw Lina walk in but she did not get any reply.
She sat up straight and saw Lina just blanky walk up the stairs, without even giving her a single glance.
"How dare that bitch act so haughtily in front of me!" She gritted her teeth and said menacingly.
"Mandy? What's wrong?" She heard an angelic voice coming from the phone that was next to her ear. She had forgotten that she was still talking to her friend.
"Oh it's nothing, Jeannie. What were you saying earlier?" Mandy tried to divert the topic.
"Mandy come on, you can tell me anything." The other person whined and this put Mandy in a tight spot.
'I don't want Jeanette to know about Lina's identity. I finally have friends now and I don't want Lina to snatch them away. No I can't tell Jeannie about her!!'
Mandy feared that her friends would stop hanging out with her if they knew that her father favored Lina more than his own daughter.
"Just a maid. Even the maids in this house have attitude problems." She made up a lie to hide Lina's identity.
"You can't let them behave like that Mandy! I know you have lived in poverty all your life, but now you are an heiress. You are one of us and you must behave that way!" Jeanette Liang advised her.
Jeanette Liang's and her mother's words resonated in her ears.
'I need to start behaving like the heiress that I am! No more being nice to Lina. I need to show her who's house she is in!'
"You are right, Jeannie. I will show them their place very soon." Her eyes turned to the stairs that Lina had just climbed.
