*Knock knock*
The person outside knocked once again when he saw that no one responded to his knocks.
Stacy glanced at the twins and found them hiding behind her, huddled together as they hugged each other.
'They were shooting his video so bravely earlier. Cowards!' She rolled her eyes at them and leaned forward to press the unlock button.
The moment she pressed the button, the door was yanked open and they saw the face that they were staring at from afar.
"Well...well...well…" Reuben looked at his best buds crouching in a corner and smilingly gazed at them.
"Look who do we have here!" He happily climbed aboard the vehicle and shut the door.
"You must be Stacy, their cousin." He greeted her with a nod while he pointed at the two hugging statues stuck in the corner.
Stacy nodded and looked at her brothers.
'He seems so nice! Why are they acting like he is some scary monster?' She shook her head disapprovingly.
If only she knew what a terror he truly was! But that's a story for another day.
"So you've come back, huh Wade?" Reuben patted his shoulder and this woke them up from their daze.
"Yes, just this evening." Wade tried not to stutter while speaking.
Both of them discreetly pocketed their phones to avoid any suspicions.
"Then you should have rested at home. What are you doing here?" He asked and saw them panic.
'We can't say that we are here for Nana!' The twins shared a look of understanding before they opened their mouths to answer.
"Or are you here to see what was the outcome of my dinner with Junior Gu?" He smiled sweetly and alternated between the two brothers.
'I will pluck their eyes out if that is why they are here!' Reuben clenched his fists that were in his coat's pocket.
They hastily shook their head as if they knew what was going on in his mind.
"Of course not!" They yelled at the same time.
"We did not even know that your date with Helen was at this restaurant," Wayne explained to stop him from misunderstanding.
It was true that they had no clue as to where she might have asked him out, it was a sheer coincidence that both Helen and Lina chose the same restaurant.
Their choices were the same but the reasons were different.
While Helen wanted to use Clover's good luck legend for her supposed first date with Reuben, Lina chose Clover because of Butler Ping's recommendation and the fact that she could order an entire chocolate fountain cart.
"That may be the truth." Reuben easily accepted it because, in the text that Wayne had read and agreed for the 'date', there was no venue mentioned, only a date and time.
Helen had later contacted Asst Kim to notify him of her decision to meet at Clover.
"But it does not change the fact that you witnessed everything that happened after we left the restaurant." He pointed to the binoculars fallen on the seat.
"Right?" He drawled and heard them gulp hard.
'So I was right! I felt someone staring at me earlier when we left the restaurant.' When he was walking with Helen, he had felt eyes on him.
His senses were always on alert when he entered or left any place thanks to the hidden paparazzi that liked to follow him around, trying to find any gossip about 'The Emperor'.
"Witnessed what? We saw absolutely nothing!" Wade asserted and looked at the other two with him.
"Right? Stacy? Wayne?" He signaled with his eyes to just agree with him and they promptly nodded their heads.
"Is that so?" Reuben was pleased to see their actions and benevolently nodded his head.
"I would hate it if somehow news of this spreads, wouldn't you?" He said and was happy to see that they were smart enough to keep their mouths shut about this whole fiasco.
'It's just a kiss that didn't even happen. Why is he so stressed?' Stacy wondered as she tried to observe him.
Feeling her stare at him, Reuben turned to her and smiled sweetly.
"Don't flirt with her!" Wayne and Wade shouted and tried to shield her from his eyes.
'Idiots.' Stacy and Reuben both rolled their eyes.
"She's your sister and that means that she is my sister as well. Now, why would I flirt with my sister?" Reuben directly declared Stacy as his sister and this left the three in shock.
'Did I just get another controlling and overprotective brother?' She facepalmed as she thought of this.
"Our sister is your sister?" Wade asked and he received a nod.
"You won't change your mind later?" This time it was Wayne and he too received a nod.
They both sighed and nodded happily.
"Of course, our sisters are your sisters." They said in unison.
'Is something wrong with their brains?' Reuben was worried because they kept repeating the same thing over and over again.
'So Nana is safe!' Wayne breathed a sigh of relief.
"You still haven't told me why you are here?" Reuben questioned them and they stiffened.
He looked at Stacy and even her smile looked unnatural as she evaded his eyes.
'Think! Wade, think!' Wade pressurized his brain to work faster so as to not act suspiciously before this detective incarnate.
"We are spying on someone!" Wade heard his brother blurt out and looked at him incredulously.
'What is this asshole trying to do!?' Wade secretly glared at his brother and turned to smile at Reuben to avoid suspicion.
"Right, Stacy?" Wayne asked her and she just nodded her head because she did not know what else to do.
"Spying on whom?" Reuben's interest was sparked and he curiously asked them.
"On Stacy's girlfriend! We think she might be cheating on her!" Wayne pointed at Stacy and saw her face grow red with anger.
'We haven't even started dating and this guy is already cursing our relationship!' If she could sucker punch him in his gut then she would surely do it right now.
But because of the way that they behaved earlier she knew that they just wanted to hide Lina's identity from Reuben so she played along unwillingly.
"Look at how angry she looks!" Wayne leaned closer to Reuben and whispered in his ear.
'What a liar!' Wade who sat aside and saw his one-man show scoffed inwardly.
"I am so sorry, Stacy! I'm great at finding clues, I can help!" He happily offered to help his new sister.
"Why don't you just go inside and check the surveillance footage? Wade owns the place after all." He suggested and everyone looked at Wade.
"How do you know about that?" Wade diverted the topic to avoid their mocking glares.
"Of course I would know! You bought the land from Ming Enterprise, did you forget how you bargained to lower the price of the land?" He sneered at his friend's frugal ways.
"Let's not reminisce. We aren't going inside because we do not want to alert them. We want to catch them when they leave together." Wade made up a story and Reuben frowned.
"I would have burst in and confronted them but if you want to go the roundabout way then.." He shrugged and did not continue his words.
Reuben and Stacy spoke a little to get to know about each other and even exchanged business cards.
"If you need any help just give me a call. If you can't reach your brothers then this brother will surely help you out." He ruffled her hair and sweetly said.
He had always wanted a younger sister and now he had one of his own.
He then thought of something that was dampening his mood but quickly shook that thought out of his mind.
"By the way… How did you know that my name is Stacy when you came inside?" Now that Stacy was familiar with him, she freely asked about how he knew who she was.
"Wayne posted pictures of some party that you attended together and I know most of his family so it's a given that I'll know who you are." He said and she nodded her head.
Wade and Wayne were sidetracked by the new brother-sister pair and they sat in a corner, sulking.
"Plus I recognized you last night at the club." Reuben did not realize that the words that he had casually said had dropped a bomb on each of them.
