"Young Miss, I have some great news!"
Mandy was sipping tea with her mother in the pavilion when she heard Richy's loud shouts as he ran in their direction.
Lucille glanced at the servant and then at her daughter with a questioning look in her eyes.
"He's with us, mom. He hates that bitch Lina just as much as I do!" Mandy stated why he had come here.
"Silly child, what are you speaking? That is your sister, you must not use such words for her." Lucille gently chided her when she heard the way Mandy was addressing Lina in front of someone else.
Her disposition was just like any other noble madam who had been trained to behave in a well-mannered way from her childhood.
'What is this girl trying to do? What if he is a spy sent by that useless butler?' She had her own suspicions about this matter.
"I understand that you do not trust me, Madam Yang. But please allow me to prove my loyalty to you. I will do whatever you tell me to." Richy bowed his head submissively and vowed his loyalty to her and Mandy.
Hearing the words 'Madam Yang' was like pleasant music to her ears. She blushed but quickly hid her expressions to not let him know about it.
When she saw how obedient and sincere Richy looked, her mannerisms changed from the noble and gentle lady that she portrayed and the viciousness in her eyes was uncovered.
"The matter regarding your loyalty will be tested thoroughly. Just pray that you pass it or else… " She did not finish her words but Richy understood what she meant.
'I need to be careful with this woman. I'll never know when she stabs me in the back in case I lose my value.' Richy shivered but resolutely nodded his head to show that he agreed.
Mandy was happy that her mother did not disapprove of her decision to make use of Richy to deal with Lina.
"So why have you come here?" She asked as she ate a cashew cookie.
"Young Miss, Master just held a press release in his company." He handed his phone over to her.
Lucille and Mandy huddled closer to watch the video that had just begun.
On the screen, Patrick Yang was seen entering the hall with a stunning woman by his side.
'Is that his secretary? I need to be careful about her! What if she has some unwanted thoughts about my Patrick?' Lucille's eyes darkened as she watched her man walking with another woman.
She had so conveniently forgotten that she was in the position of that woman many years ago and she had done the exact same thing.
The blonde on the screen handed a file to Patrick and he cleared his throat before he addressed the group of reporters.
"Good morning and thank you to all who made time to come here today. I know that you are curious as to why I had called for a press meet on such short notice." He joked and the reporters all nodded.
"Well, this was not a sudden decision but something that was on my mind for quite some time now." He paused and looked right into the camera and smiled.
Mandy smiled when she saw her father's charming face while Lucille blushed until her cheeks reddened.
Richy stood at the side and observed all of their expressions to ensure that he makes the right moves in the future.
"There is someone that I want everyone to meet. Someone special and very important to me." He dropped the bomb on everyone present.
"Few of you might already know her but I want to make a formal introduction to know who she is." He continued.
The crowd got noisy when they heard him. Everyone was sure that he was talking about the illegitimate child that had caused a stir a few months back.
Needless to say, Lucille and Mandy also had the same thoughts.
"Did you hear that, mom? Daddy wants to introduce me to everyone as his daughter!" Mandy squealed as she shook her mother's shoulders with force.
The video continued without giving them time to completely process this new information.
"The Yang family will be holding a ball this weekend for her debut into high society. The invites have already been sent out and I hope everyone can make it to this special occasion." He ended his speech.
Before the reporters could bombard him with their numerous questions, the bodyguards escorted him and his secretary outside the room.
This was a Livestream that had ended a few hours back.
The news about this had already spread and people were speculating about who that special girl might be.
The video then continued in a studio where a newsreader, the same one that Lina had seen at Benji's place, was trying to guess who the mystery debutante may be.
"Someone special? Someone whom we know about and is a female? I think we all know who that is!" She wiggled her brows at the camera.
"Who in this city doesn't know the drama that Master Patrick Yang's illegitimate child had created." The screen displayed the image of Mandy that they had taken when she had first appeared before the media.
"Mandy Rong - The unknown heiress. Looks like she will not stay unknown for too long."
"This weekend, everyone in this city will know who Mandy Rong is and if I was in her position then I would start preparing right now!" The newsreader chuckled after she was done.
The video ended on that note and there was silence all around.
The two women were in a state of shock that Patrick had finally taken such a big step towards them.
"I knew that daddy wouldn't ignore us! He had been away for so long because he was busy preparing for my debut!" Mandy smiled radiantly.
Lucille was happy for her daughter but nowhere did Patrick mention her and this made her sad.
'Does he only want Mandy and not me?' Her heart ached when she thought this way.
Mandy noticed the gloomy expression on her mother's face and realized that she was rubbing salt on her open wounds.
"Don't worry, mom. This is just the first step that daddy has taken towards us. I will make sure that he accepts you publicly as well. I promise!" She declared in a loud voice to reassure her.
Lucille looked at the serious look in Mandy's eyes and felt her eyes watering.
"En. My daughter is the best! She will take care of me." Lucille hugged her in a tight embrace.
While they were basking in their lovely moment, Richy was planning on how to use this to his advantage.
'This is getting easier than I had expected.' He bowed his head to hide the smirk that had formed on his lips.
"Let's not waste time and go shopping for some beautiful gowns!" Mandy let go of the hug and pulled her mother to her feet.
"I am going to have my debut!" She screamed as she dragged her mother to the Exterior block.

While the city was busy discussing the details of Patrick Yang's announcement, he and his family were in a stressful situation at the moment.
At Wellness Central Hospital,
Inside a certain room, Lina was on the bed with IV drips attached to her hands.
Stacy sat at the edge of her bed and moved the strand of hair that had fallen on her face.
"It's been three hours already! When will she be up?" Wayne whispered in anger when she made no movements at all.
Wade was the only person in the room who had witnessed Lina's sudden loss of consciousness on multiple occasions but the same could not be said for the others.
The last time they had seen her faint because of her weird tachophobia was when Simon and his family were still in the city, which was about ten years back.
"Benji is coordinating with Lina's doctor abroad and we are waiting for his call right now." Wade spoke as he rubbed his tired eyes.
Right now, Wade, Wayne, Patrick, Wallace and Stacy were all inside while Benji and Kirk had gone to make sure the reports did not take too long.
These men were all important figures in the society and it would create a mess if news of their presence in this hospital was to be leaked.
"I thought that she would be fine if the speed was under a certain limit. Then what happened today?" Patrick asked, his face was grim with no ounce of his usual cheerfulness visible.
His hand held onto Ace's in a tight grip and he had not realized that he was hurting him.
Ace did not make a sound even though he was in pain because he knew what Pat was feeling right now.
"Excuse us."
Everyone faced the door that was pushed open. Kirk walked in with Benji and a senior doctor walked following him.
"What do the reports say?" Ace asked anxiously.
"We have given her a full body checkup but there is nothing wrong with her. We cannot understand what is causing her to slip into this coma." The old man pushed the glasses up the bridge of his nose and spoke carefully.
"Coma?" Several voices uttered the same word in shock.
"Yes, this is a type of coma that her brain is inducing as a self-defense mechanism. I have spoken to her previous doctor and he has the same diagnosis." He explained the issue.
They looked at Benji who nodded to agree with the doctor's words.
"Doc told me she needs to wake up on her own. Right now her brain is fighting itself and she is the only one who can wake herself up." Benji retold the exact words that he was told.
'What is she fighting?' They all looked at the figure hidden underneath the blankets who looked like she was just in a deep slumber.
