Chapter 146 - Leave This Place

"What do you think that you are doing?"

Wade's loud voice interrupted Lina's busy hands that were buttoning the oversized coat she had worn.

She turned around and found her cousins standing at the door with a grim and furious expression on their faces.

Benji had already helped her to pack her stuff and she was all set to leave the hospital when he would be back after settling the hospital expenses.

"We were in the car on our way here when the nurse called to inform me that your discharge was successful. We were confused and rushed over but it looks like our worries were not necessary." Wade raised his brows at her.

'Crap! I thought that I would meet them directly at home.' She flinched and avoided their eyes.

"Our Nana has been too mischievous, hasn't she?" Wayne smiled as he walked towards her.

Lina took a step away when she saw the devious smile on his face.

"You can't scold me! I am a patient!" She pouted and narrowed her eyes at them.

Stacy quickly stepped forward to save her sister and brought her to take a seat on the couch.

"Why did you ask to be discharged so soon?" She asked and tucked the loose strands of hair that had fallen on Lina's face.

Lina held her hand and placed it on her lap.

"Stace, I've been here for three whole days and I can't stand being in here for another day." Lina confessed what was in her mind.

Stacy could not oppose her words when she saw the pitiful look on her younger sister's face.

"Also, how can I miss your party?" Lina immediately perked up and smiled at her.

'I can't let them be sad for me anymore!' She vowed in her heart and decided to not break that promise ever again.

The party was only her excuse to escape from this place that reminded her of her weakest point.

Who would like to be in a place that would constantly remind them of how fragile their life was?

Lina was lost in her thoughts so she did not notice how the three of them diverted their eyes away from her when she mentioned Stacy's party.

"But you could have informed us of your decision in advance!" Wade was still not convinced of her sudden actions.

"What's done is done, forget about it now. Let's just take her back home." Wayne patted his brother's shoulder and signaled him to stop talking.

"We need her to be healthy enough to attend the party on Sunday." He nudged Wade's arm to make sure that his message got across.

'She's the star of the party! The invites have already been sent and every important person in this city is going to be appearing on that day! We can't have our debutante in the hospital!' He ranted inwardly.

He shook his head when he thought of this major problem they would have faced if Lina hadn't awakened from her coma.

'Then Uncle Pat would have no other choice than to introduce that Mandy woman to everyone!' He cringed and hastily threw that idea far away from his mind.

Everyone else in the room just watched how Wayne's expressions kept jumping from one to another in quick succession.

'That's some expert-level facial acting!' Lina was impressed with her brother's hidden skill.

Wayne's inner monologue halted when Benji entered the room.

He was shocked to see so many people inside and panicked when he saw Wade's pissed off face.

'I should have known that this giant must have given Nana a hand in her plan. Just like all the times that he had blindly followed her!' Wade gnashed his teeth but stopped when he noticed Lina staring at him.

"Don't blame him, he was just following my orders." She defended him and Benji finally took a breath of relief.

'These brothers all have the same scary aura!' Benji discovered this when he had felt Wade's aura which was similar to Wind's in some ways.

"Let's leave this place now!" Lina got up from the seat and slowly walked out.

The others had no other option but to follow her all the way to the parking lot.

Benji, Lina and Wade got into one car while Wayne and Stacy got into the second car.

The two vehicles then smoothly yet cautiously exited the parking and drove in Luo Residence's direction.

Sitting in a dark office, a certain someone had been watching every move that Lina had made since she set foot outside her ward all the way until her car left the hospital premises.

"I'll see you soon, Lina Yang." A smooth voice rang as the man sitting behind the computer, shut it down, and walked out of the room.

----

The situation in Luo Residence was extremely chaotic when Lina and the others arrived.

Butler Mo was commanding the servants to get the room on the ground floor to be prepared because he did not want Lina to tire herself by walking up the stairs.

'He is so sensitive and considerate!' Lina's heart warmed when she saw how worried he was for her well being.

"Young Miss Lina! You are back!" He rushed towards her when he saw the crowd standing at the door.

Holding her hand he gently led her to the couch and wrapped her up in a warm shawl after she sat down.

"I'm fine now, Butler Mo." She giggled and held onto the shawl.

"We were so worried when we heard the news. Please take care of your health. If not for yourself at least do it for my sake!" He knelt before her and gazed into her eyes.

'That's not fair! How can I say no to such a pretty face!' Lina subconsciously nodded.

'That guy knows how to get Lina to agree with him.' The twins had the same thought because this was not the first time that Butler Mo had used this trick on her.

"I made all your favorite dishes, so make sure to eat well and recover quickly." He rubbed her head and walked back to the kitchen.

Lina sat in the same place, blushing like a fool until she heard someone clearing their throat.

Looking up, she saw three smug faces staring down at her.

"What? Stop looking at me in that way! We still have a lot to discuss regarding Stacy's party so let's get to work!" She clapped her hands to divert their attention away from her blushing face.

'She keeps calling it Stacy's party. I wonder what her reaction will be when she realizes that it is for her.' Wayne stifled the chuckle that almost burst from his lips.

Before coming to Luo Residence, they had dropped Benji at his apartment so right now only the four cousins were sitting together in the hall.

"First thing we need to discuss is the venue!" Lina declared and was about to turn her tab on but couldn't as it was snatched away by Wayne.

'If she logs on to any social media site then the first thing that will appear is Uncle's press meet. I can't let her watch it!' He hid the tablet and swiftly passed it to Wade who was the furthest away from her.

"Hey! Give it back! How will we decide the venue without it?" She stretched her hand out but to no avail.

"No electronics until you recover and I will confiscate your phone as well. You need to have complete rest if you want to attend the party." He declared in a stern voice.

Lina just rolled her eyes and was about to move once again when Wayne spoke up.

"If you disobey then I'll ask Uncle Ace to not permit you to leave the house!" He smirked when he noticed that he had managed to scare her.

'Uncle Ace won't hesitate to lock me up so I better behave myself." She obediently nodded her head with a pout on her face.

"It's alright Nana, we took your advice and got an event planner to handle everything for the party." Stacy spoke up when she saw Lina's pouting face.

"Oh… That's nice! What about our clothes?" She quickly moved onto the next area of interest.

"Uncle Pat has ordered some gowns already, they will be here tomorrow. You can try them out and figure out which one you want." Wayne waved his wrist nonchalantly to show that they had it under control.

'I better pick a dress that will help me blend in with the crowd and not attract too much attention.' She rubbed her chin and nodded.

She was happy with her plan to stay hidden among the guests and observe them without gaining the spotlight.

If the others would have heard her 'plan' then they would certainly laugh until their tears rolled out because there was no way she could succeed in this plan.
