Richy stood outside the door of his mistress, Lucille Rong to inform her of the task that he had completed.
Just as he was about to knock on the door, he heard a muffled scream coming from inside.
His hand which was outstretched to knock on the door stayed frozen in place and he leaned closer in an attempt to hear what the commotion was all about.
Richy looked around and when he saw the deserted hallway, he moved forward and pressed his ear to the crack in the door.
"Why is it so hard for me to contact him!?" A shrill voice was heard complaining from the inside.
Richy knew that the voice belonged to Lucille and he hurried to pull his phone out and began recording what she was rambling about.
'Master will be pleased with this information.' He reckoned and stuck the phone close to the door.
On the other side of the door, Lucille was dressed in a gentle and elegant looking midnight blue nightgown as she paced around the room.
She was so engrossed in her fury that she had failed to notice that someone was spying on her.
"Why do I have to sit here like a duck while he seems to be off in his merry world?" She growled and glared at her phone.
Earlier, when she had asked the manservant Richy to prove his loyalty she was in her high and mighty arrogance as the lady of this house.
However, when she was left alone, she recalled that there was someone whom she had to answer to and this caused her to panic.
She wished to call this person and inform him of the move she had made through Richy's hands but she had forgotten that she did not have the right to do so.
Lucille gritted her teeth when she recalled how that man would often treat her.
'He has never allowed me to even call him by his name!' She scoffed at the subpar level on which he behaved towards her.
In fact, she doubted whether the name he had given her was even real.
The man whom she had been thinking about was none other than Mandy's biological father.
He was always the one to initiate communication with her whenever he had some task for her and when he was done utilizing her, he would throw her out of his thoughts until he needed her once again.
Lucille had no feelings for him other than those of hatred and disgust however he was also the one who had promised to make her Mrs. Yang, the matron of the Yang clan.
So she would bear every humiliation until she received that honorable title, then she wouldn't care about him either.
But until she was legally married to Patrick Yang, she had to depend on this man's aid and wait for his orders for the next move.
"Why can he just not leave me his contact information!?" She growled when remembered the root of her troubles today.
"I know that might have his own family somewhere but Mandy is still his daughter and she needs his help to deal with Lina!" She shook her head and pressed her aching temples.
She was sure that he had a separate family somewhere since he would always contact her through a private number which could not be dialed back.
Only he could make calls or text her with the next orders but she could never be the one to contact him under any circumstances.
This obvious move to keep her from annoying him and his personal life made Lucille gnash her teeth against each other.
Outside the door, noticing that she had been silent for a long time, Richy sent the recording he had made to a secure ID and then deleted the file from his phone.
He then adjusted his expressions and knocked on her door.
Lucille panicked when someone was outside her door and swiftly opened it
When she saw that it was Richy, she pulled him inside by the collar and then shut the door.
"Tell me that you didn't do anything to harm Lina!?" She growled at him in a furious voice.
Richy's eyes widened before he immediately put his head down and cowered under her intense glare.
"Madam, you were the one who gave those orders." He muttered in a wronged voice.
Lucille felt disgusted by looking at his cowardly attitude and let go of his collar before pushing him away from her.
Richy stumbled a few steps away and managed to steady himself with the help of a cabinet he collided against.
The man who had jumped out of his window without thinking twice was nowhere to be seen and in his place was this trembling mess who looked like he would run away if given a chance.
"What did you do?" Lucille investigated after looking at his pitiable state.
Richy took a second to catch his breath and then finally looked up with a weird glint appearing in his eyes.
Lucille was surprised to see that flash of a devious smile that came and went in a split second.
"I overheard Miss Lina on the phone about going outside to meet someone." He disclosed his discovery while spying on her.
Lucille silently waited for him to finish what he was saying.
"When she went upstairs to change, I did something to her car." He revealed what he had done.
"What did you do to her car?" She couldn't contain both the fear and anticipation she felt at the same time.
'Though I hope that Lina has a horrible death, I don't want to get yelled at for messing up that man's plans.' She shuddered thinking of what he would do to her if that happened.
Richy's observant eyes did not miss her minute facial expressions that any normal person wouldn't have caught but Richy was far from a normal person.
'I'm glad that the Master sent me here to keep a watch on this woman because the others might not be able to see through her thoughts like me.' He praised his master's foresight and himself at the same time.
His mission here was to keep a watch on this woman to make sure that she did not do something that she wasn't supposed to.
Noticing her curious and glowing eyes on him, Richy looked at her with trepidation as he revealed what he had done in detail.
"So if she goes over a certain speed then the brakes of her car would stop functioning?" Lucille's voice held a tinge of excitement as she summarized what he had just said.
"And she left already?" Her next question was answered with a nod.
Seeing his obedient behavior, Lucille was pleased with him and decided that it was high time that she stopped doubting him.
"You've done well. You can leave now." She instructed him and Richy bowed submissively before leaving the room.
'What's done is done. I'll bear the brunt of it if he gets mad at me.' She generously decided and then plopped on the bed.
"What is more important is the outcome of my efforts that is… Lina will either be severely injured or long gone by now." She cackled as this thought came to her mind.
'I'd be happy either way!' She scoffed and then hugged her pillow tight.
On his way back to his room, Richy scowled at the woman who was so trusting even though she tried to act so tough before her daughter.
It was true that he had messed with Lina's car brakes but there was something else that he had done.
'How could I act without the master's approval?' He scoffed at the evil woman and then entered his room.
As he couldn't reach his master yet had to gain this woman's trust by obeying her commands, he did the best that he could with the given circumstances.
While he did screw with Lina's brakes, he even drained her fuel tank.
This way, she would not go too far nor could she drive exceeding the speed limit which might cause her brakes to stop working.
This was the reason why Lina's car had broken down out of the blues on that deserted road.
But what neither of them knew was that Lina never even thought of exceeding that speed limit since she had an immense and irrational fear of speed.
Her phobia of high speeds had thus saved her own life and she did not even have a clue about it.

While Richy was gloating about his brilliant scheme that made Lucille trust him, Lina was glaring at her boyfriend.
"What did you just say that I have?" Lina glowered as she gritted her teeth.
'A masochist? What the hell kind of an impression does this guy have about me?' She wondered and her eyes narrowed further.
Reuben had witnessed his Kitten's furious face and was now 100% sure that he had come to a hasty conclusion about what was going on.
When Lina had left the room without making any fuss, he recalled the stories she loved to read and how the male lead always tends to mistreat the female lead in them.
However, no matter what he did, the female protagonist would still be attracted to him.
So in the same way, Reuben had expected Lina to like it better if he similarly treated her in a bad way.
Making her feel as though she too was the female lead of one of the stories she loved to read.
"So you are not a masochist who likes pain and likes to be mistreated?" He blurted out his confused thoughts.
Lina blankly stared at him for a moment before a devious chuckle left her lips.
A chuckle that sent shivers running down Reuben's spine as he saw her eyes darken menacingly.
