When Lina and Reuben stepped out of the room that they had been snuggling in, they met the two men who were chatting it up with the old lady.
Wayne stuffed the noodles into his mouth and slurped loudly as he turned in the direction that he heard the footsteps coming from.
"Oh, so you finally remembered to come out?" He taunted while scoffing at his sister and best friend who had left them hanging in the hall.
Wade, on the other hand, was enjoying his meal in silence since he did not have to spend his money treating them to a lavish lunch at his restaurant.
When Reuben heard this, he turned towards the woman with a playful smile whose hand he had been holding.
Lina glanced up and her face turned a darker pink than before thanks to the blood that was pumping straight to her cheeks.
'Can I just bury my face in the ground like an ostrich? Gahhh!!' She cried out in her mind and instantly looked away.
There was a reason why she was so embarrassed that she wouldn't mind sticking her face into the ground was because of what had happened a few minutes earlier.
After Reuben had let go of the hug, she leaned backward, and just as she was about to speak her mind there was something else that was louder than her.
Reuben bit his lower lip to stop his chuckle when he heard her stomach growl which conveniently echoed in the room further intensifying her embarrassment.
No matter how much he tried to stop his facial expressions from changing, Lina could make out the strained look on his face.
She awkwardly chuckled while rubbing her protesting belly and then looked away.
'Stupid stomach spoiled my chance of confessing to him!' She cursed her hungry and demanding stomach who did not know how to behave itself.
She had now lost the chance of telling him that she was feeling a little something for him in her heart.
Reuben rubbed her head and then rose to his feet, extending his hand he helped her get up and then led her towards the door.
"Let us get something in that grumbling stomach of yours." He jested and chuckled when he heard her glowering at him.
Sadly, he was not a mind reader and did not know that if he had waited just a few more seconds then he could have heard a beautiful confession from the woman he was leading outside.
When they had stepped out of the room, they found these three people enjoying their time in his kitchen.
Reuben pulled a chair for his girlfriend and helped her take her seat and then turned towards the older woman standing behind the counter.
"Mrs. Jun, can I trouble you to cook something for us?" He questioned and the woman enthusiastically nodded at him with a smile.
"No trouble at all, Master." She clamored and then turned around towards the stove.
Lina sat at the side and watched the old woman's quick hands which whipped something up for them in a matter of minutes.
Soon, Reuben and Lina were served fresh soup and mildly spicy noodles.
Lina grimaced when she first saw the color of the noodles as she was reminded of Benji's demonic hot and spicy noodles.
Thankfully, these were not as spicy and had a better flavor to them.
Looking at her slurping away at the noodles that she had cooked, Mrs. Jun could not help but chuckle softly.
However, since the room was only filled with sounds of people swirling the noodles on the chopsticks and slurping it down, her chuckle was rather loud.
Mrs. Jun's cheeks burned red when she saw this bunch of attractive people all looking at her at the same time.
"Young Miss looked very cute right now. Just like a…" She stopped herself when she saw the Master's eyes on her.
Reuben had been sneakily watching Lina and so he understood why his employee had let out a chuckle.
"Just like a kitten?" He finished the sentence for her.
Mrs. Jun could not disagree with her boss since she too felt that this young lady looked like a lazy cat who wanted to be petted all the time.
'Have you ever seen a kitten slurping noodles?' Lina mocked them when she heard their absurd and unrealistic comparisons.
The twins decided to sit this one out as they did not want to come between their silly games.
Realizing that he had not yet introduced the two women, Reuben took it upon himself to complete this task.
"Kitten, meet Mrs. Jun. She helped me to set up the room for you. The arrangement of your clothes in the wardrobe was also done by her." He explained why she was inside the room when they had entered.
Lina had a suspicion about this and now she was aware of the purpose of the woman whom she had heard over the phone.
She hurried to swallow the contents in her mouth and then bowed to the lady to greet her.
"Hello and sorry that you had to see 'that'." She apologized for when they had burst into the room in that indecent manner.
Mrs. Jun shook her head and smiled when she saw how well mannered and polite Lina was.
"Mrs. Jun, meet Lina Yang, my girlfriend. You can call her Madam from now onwards." He instructed while smiling proudly.
This was the first time that he had introduced Lina to someone while she was present in the room and this felt like a milestone to him.
'Did he just ask Mrs. Jun to call me Madam?' Lina could not believe her ears and so she just gaped at him.
"Eat before they get cold." He chided her as he pointed at the bowl with his chin.
Lina could only dazedly nod at him and obediently followed his words.
While the happy couple had gone back to eating, the other three in the room had frozen in the same positions.
'Girlfriend…? M-madam?' The older woman could only stop and stare at her Master for dropping this bomb so abruptly on her.
Wayne and Wade were equally surprised that he had introduced their sister in such an honest way and that too in the presence of an outsider.
Reuben was not concerned that Mrs. Jun would open her mouth because he trusted her enough to share this piece of insider information.
If she had managed to keep the address of this penthouse a secret from his bossy mother then she could be trusted with this information as well.
Soon they finished their lunch and Mrs. Jun was ready to bid them goodbye.
"Madam, this is my contact information. Call me anytime if you need to make any changes to the new room." She informed Lina while handing over a business card.
The word 'Madam' made the young woman feel nervous and excited at the same time.
Lina gratefully accepted it and raised her eyebrows when she saw the name and details on the card.
"Corrine Jun, Interior designer?" She read the words out loud.
'I thought she was a maid who worked for Ruby.' Her confused thoughts were visible on her face.
Mrs. Jun smiled at the young lady's puzzled face then turned to her Master.
"I used to work for Master as a maid in his family due to certain financial problems but I always had a knack for design. Young master helped me fulfill my dreams in this old age." She revealed the truth behind the matter.
Lina turned towards the man and her smile widened when she saw his neutral face without a trace of pride or arrogance that he had helped Mrs. Jun out.
"I am a businessman and I saw potential in her talent. Why would I miss out on an opportunity to earn more money? So I invested in her business." He disclosed his side of the story.
Mrs. Jun's subtle smile showed that she had heard the same sentence multiple times in the past every time she would express her gratitude for his goodwill.
Wayne also had no idea that such a transaction had taken place so he was equally impressed with his friend's good deeds.
'Why are they looking at me like I am a saint? I only wanted more money!' Reuben shrugged away the sparkling eyes which were fixed on his face.
Thus, Mrs. Jun soon left the penthouse after exchanging contacts with Lina.
Wayne decided to head back to the office since his lunch break had ended and he would soon have a meeting with an important business client.
Wade on the other hand was reluctant to step outside without dragging Lina along with him.
"I want to stay back and take care of Ruby!" The 22-year-old woman whined while stomping her feet on the marbled floor.
Wade turned around and glimpsed at the man who looked like he was fine and did not need anyone's care and attention.
When Lina noticed his line of sight, she glared at Reuben and narrowed her eyes at him.
'If he drags me away then just you wait!' She glowered without speaking a single word.
Reuben choked when he felt her glares and began coughing incessantly.
"See! He needs me here and anyway I have no work in the office." She declared as her hands folded across her chest.
Seeing her adamant behavior Wade scowled and thought of the mountain heap of files that he had to go through every day.
'Her company and I have to slog my ass off?' He gritted his teeth but he could not make his thoughts known since there was an extra presence in the room.
Reuben was still kept in the dark about her being the CEO of Obsidia and Wade did not want to reveal anything until she was willing to do so on her own.
Hence he sighed and shot her one last glare before walking towards the elevator.
"Don't say that I am being ruthless when I fire you from your job!" He snarled as the elevator doors shut after he had entered it.
Reuben looked troubled when he heard the threat that she had received but the woman who had received the threat was not worried in the least bit.
'My company, what can he do?' She waved her hand to dismiss the worrisome thoughts on her boyfriend's face.
Lina then plopped on the couch beside him and sighed in relief.
"Hectic day, huh?" She chuckled and then wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head on his chest.
Reuben silently began running his fingers through her hair as he hummed in reply.
Lina snuggled against him and just as she was about to close her eyes she found something capturing her interest.
"Ruby, what is that?" She inquired while pointing her finger at the large box on the table.
