The next morning, just as Stephen and his interns had decided, they all arrived at Obsidia before the other employees could.
They knew that Miss Lina was expected to arrive with her assistant in an hour and their work would commence once she entered her office room.
The little spies aka the interns under Stephen kept an eye on Lina and Benji who were accompanied by Manager Anthony Shen and Asst Leon Jiu as they entered her office.
"Time to commence!" One of them sent a text in their group chat, declaring that the coast was clear for them to begin their mission.
They had an hour's time to finish their work and get back to their office in order to not look suspicious.
Therefore they got to work and used the same method that Maxene had used a few days earlier.
Thus each intern separated and went to a different department of Obsidia but their words were all the same.
The first place to be hit was the closest to Lina, the Marketing department that she worked at.
Vivian decided to take this area as she had some friends here and it would not seem odd for her to be found in this part of the building.
When she entered the breakroom, she found her friend with her colleagues and went ahead to greet them.
"Hey, girl! Haven't seen you in a long time!" Anya, Vivian's friend, gave her a hug as she greeted her.
Vivian smiled at her friend and her colleagues before slumping on the chair.
"What's wrong, Vivi?" Anya polled when she saw the gloomy expression on her face.
Vivian shook her head at first but then looked into Anya's eyes with a pout.
"It's about the gossip about Miss Lina that is going around the company." She revealed the source of her anxiety.
The moment Anya heard the name that her friend had mentioned, her hand which had been patting Vivian's shoulder to comfort her came to a halt.
She took her hand away and stared daggers at her friend when she realized even she had come here to gossip about her Fairy.
"Tell us what she did wrong this time!?" Another woman in the group, the one who Maxene had remarked as the loudest mouth in the department spoke up.
She was excited to hear more gossip about Lina and thus she ignored the glare that Anya had shot at her.
When Maxene had initiated the conversation about her annoyances with Lina, it was Anya who had taken a stand for her but her voice had been pushed down by the gossip that had begun.
Now, she was in no mood to hear her friend speak ill about her Fairy.
"My boss is mad at us for the gossip that was spread." Vivian began her story which caused everyone to pay attention to her words.
"Young Master Jin had been planning to release a new Winter line of clothing that he had been working hard to put together." She sighed when she heard the excited squeals from the women.
The new line of clothing would mean new customers, sales and the end result would be a huge profit for the company.
"This is a good thing. Why do you look so unhappy?" Anya interrogated when she saw the disheartened expression on her face.
Vivian looked her friend in the eyes and then broke the bad news which was her reason for putting on a sad face.
"He canceled the enter line!" She grumbled while banging her head on the table.
The shock and confusion on their faces were enough to prove that they were appalled when they heard this information.
"Why would he do that?" The gossipy woman growled as this would mean that her Christmas bonus would be lower than expected.
Though Obsidia paid them great holiday bonuses, every time the company had a new line of jewelry or clothing being released, they paid them an extra bonus that month.
Vivian lowered her head and smirked since this was the reaction she had been looking forward to.
"Master Jin is angry at the employees for the rumors that were spread in the company!" She retorted while glaring back at the woman who had yelled at her.
The gossipy woman was stunned when she heard this and then furrowed her brows.
"What does this have anything to do with the new winter line?" She interrogated, displaying no intention of backing down.
Anya stared at her friend, curious as to why Stephen Jin, the little devil of Obsidia had made such a strange declaration.
"Heh! Who do you think was helping Master Jin with his Winter collection?" Vivian sneered at the gossipy woman.
The woman tilted her head as any news about this Young Master was hard to find due to his elusive and evasive behavior.
Vivian let out a mocking chuckle when she noticed her silence and decided that this was the time to drop the bomb on them.
"It was Miss Lina who had been helping Master Jin these past few days. This is also why she had been so irregular to work." She announced with a scornful smirk.
These words came crashing down on everyone who was inside the break room.
While they had been spreading rumors about Lina being a slacker, she had been trying to help Stephen in improving the sales of the company.
"Now that Master Jin is back after his preparations, he hears this nonsense about Miss Lina and has decided to thrash the entire Winter collections." She added to make the situation seem dire.
The panic she observed in their eyes was what she wished to see and right now they looked glorious as she took in this sight.
"Since everyone thinks that Miss Lina is a slacker… He said that he would help to convert that rumor into the truth." She muttered while shaking her head.
Now that she had concluded what they had planned for, she turned to her friend and whined in a wronged voice.
"Will the VP be mad at us when he hears about this?" She whispered as a fearful expression appeared on her face.
The gasps around the room showed that her work here was done.
She then hugged her friend and hid her face in the crook of her neck to make sure that her victorious smile wasn't visible to anyone around her.
'Now we… WAIT!' She smirked and hugged Anya tighter than before.
