Chapter 281 - His Usual MO

Wayne drove his car into the premises of the building that he had just been to yesterday.

The security guard recognized the man who had alighted from the car and saluted this young master while stepping aside to let him into the building.

Riding the elevator up to the topmost floor, he typed in the passcode which he had remembered from when he had popped by the last time.

Reuben raised his head from slurping the soft noodles when he heard the elevator ding.

His alerted senses relaxed when he noticed that the man who had walked in was none other than his best friend.

'Do they not have any sense of personal space? Walking into my house as though they own the place!' He scoffed at the shameless man who was trudging in his direction.

Though his Kitten was not included in this list as she could walk in at any time as she now owned a part of the house and a place in his heart.

If the newcomer could hear the thoughts in Reuben's mind then he would have certainly puked but as he couldn't, he was busy doing something else.

Wayne sniffed the air when he came close to the kitchen island where Reuben sat with a bowl half-filled with noodles and clear broth in it.

"Hmm… Smells great! There's some left or have you gobbled everything up?" He inquired while pulling a chair for himself.

The master of the house did not move a muscle for the intruder who was most probably expecting to be served something to eat.

Noticing this stingy behavior of the man who was supposed to be the host, Wayne stood up and scoured the kitchen to find food for himself.

Reuben shook his head at this ditzy man who was not able to find the package of food that had been delivered by Assistant Kim a while ago.

"Look in the pot that's on the stove, idiot!" He informed in a scornful tone.

Nodding appreciatively, Wayne peeked into the pot and was overjoyed to find that there was more than sufficient food for him to fill his growling stomach.

He did not waste any time and filled a bowl up to the brim with noodles and the fragrant clear broth.

The heir of the Ming family shook his head as he watched his friend try to balance the bowl so as to not drop its contents onto himself as he made his way to the kitchen island that doubled as a dining table.

"I assume that you have come here for some reason other than to empty my food?" Reuben scoffed as he shot this man a nasty glare.

The loud slurping of noodles did not stop even after this question was posed to Wayne as he continued to polish off half the bowl in a few minutes and the next half did not take much longer to disappear as well.

Wayne finally looked up after he gulped down the entire broth that was in his bowl and burped out loud as he placed the empty bowl on the platform.

This uncouth action of his friend made Reuben grimace as he moved his seat away from this weird man.

Once he had filled his stomach, Wayne slumped in the chair and rubbed his slightly bulging belly as he looked at the man sitting next to him.

"You wouldn't believe the mess that I just cleared up!" He muttered while shaking his head.

Reuben had no clue as to what this man was talking about and he was sure that he had no interest in finding out about it.

"I have better things to do, Wayne. Take your nonsense some other place if you are done sponging off a free meal from me!" He sneered at this man who had popped by unannounced.

Wayne's brows lifted in amusement after hearing those words and a smirk son appeared on his face.

'I would now attempt making the Ice Emperor eat his words in three…' He decided as he rose from his seat.

Reuben narrowed his eyes at the man who was gazing at him mischievously and felt a bad feeling arising in his heart.

"I see… Then I should probably leave now…" Wayne Luo drawled out his words.

'Two…' He turned around after saying those words.

'What is he up to now?' The suspicious man continued to leer at the back which was now turned in his direction.

"After all, you think that you have better things to do than to listen about the incident that had happened concerning Nana…" He nodded as he took another step ahead.

'One!' He ended his countdown as he did not halt his feet.

True to what he had expected, Reuben's eyes were wide open after he heard that this matter concerned his Kitten.

He leaped out of his seat when he heard Lina's name being mentioned.

"Why are you leaving in such a hurry? Come let us talk." He blurted as he strode in Wayne's direction.

Now it was Wayne's turn to act haughty as he avoided the hand that was about to touch his shoulder by leaning away from it.

"No, no! You were right! I had come over to eat a free meal and now that my stomach has been filled I shall take my leave!" He insisted as he moved in the direction of the elevator.

Reuben had already given him a chance by coming over to ask him in a polite manner but that did not seem to work for this man.

'Looks like I can't be nice to him as he cannot digest that.' He surmised and then crossed his arms across his chest as he watched the man reach the doors of the elevator.

"If you don't get back then make sure to wear fitted clothes." He smirked while shouting those words out.

Wayne had been trying hard not to let his laughter out and to keep his shoulders from trembling but when he heard this statement, he was confused as he could not make head or tail out of it.

'Why does that sound like a threat to me?' He wondered while turning around in a cautious manner.

The evil grin on the Emperor's face was something he truly feared and now coming in contact with it was not something he wished to do at this moment.

Reuben was pleased to look at the terrified face that had turned around.

"Get back here and tell me all about it if you don't wish for Trigger to drag you all the way to Blue Heaven for a stellar performance with the main star being you." He threatened with a sweet smile which was his usual MO.

'He means business!' Wayne cried out as he obeyed the instructions he was given.

The fear of Blue Heaven could make the Luo twins his slaves if he wished for it and this was a threat that he could always use against them to keep them on the right track.

Soon, Wayne and Reuben sat on the large couch, facing each other as the beautiful blonde-haired man began narrating what he had heard and seen today.
