Chapter 286 - He Is A Guy, Isn't He?

Though Lina had only spent a few minutes with the man, she had quite liked him which was why she had not hesitated before giving him her real now.

'I would usually use my dialog of fate deciding our second meeting but I felt that he was a good guy and hence gave him my name… But now…' She pouted and shook her head.

It was either Jackson who had lied to her or the poor guy who was being lied to by that girlfriend whom he adored dearly.

'I don't like either of those options!' She roared in her mind as both of them were bad.

If Jackson had lied to her on their very first meet and all for a filthy habit such as smoking then she could not find herself being friends with him any longer.

However, on the off chance that he wasn't lying and it was his girlfriend san who was the culprit then Lina would feel worse.

'I hated it when Ruby lied to me about that lady inside his house and we haven't been together for long. Jackson and his girlfriend have been dating for a long time and he is being lied to.' She sighed when she thought of this aspect being a valid possibility.

Steph had been silent and confused as he watched the various expressions flashing on her face.

Feeling his intense gaze on her, Lina was yanked out of her reverie as she turned towards him.

"He's a guy, isn't he?" Her soft mutters reached Stephen's ear causing his eyes to almost pop out.

'Noona does not even see me as a man now!' The young man who was definitely a man lamented at his pitiful impression in her eyes.

When Lina awoke from her daze, she realized that she had just spoken those words out loud which was the explanation for the pouted lips and the puffed up cheeks she witnessed at this moment.

If anyone else who knew the kind of man Stephen Jin was, if they were to see him with such an adorable expression on his face then they would have declared that there was something wrong with him.

If it was Noah Jin who had witnessed this look on his baby brother's face then he would have been sure that someone else's soul had transmigrated into Stephen's body.

Since he had never seen Steph making such a face in all the years that they spent in the same house.

This was because these cute appearances of his were limited and reserved solely for his beautiful Noona who was his favorite person in the world.

'I must have hurt his feelings!' Lina inferred upon taking in the view of his adorable face.

"Noona needs to know something and she needs a man's opinion. Since Steph is also a man can he help me?" She requested while batting her lashes at him.

Her signature OP weapon was this trick that she often used on her family members when she needed to placate them or needed something from them.

Since this was her cute little puppy, she had decided that he could be graced with her fluttering lashes in return for a few answers.

True to her expectations, Steph squealed when he noticed this absolutely precious behavior of hers.

"Anything that Noona needs!" He proclaimed while thumping his chest.

Lina let out a chuckle when she saw the young man coughing as he had hit his chest with more force than what he had expected it to be.

He pouted after he had managed to catch his breath once again and then nodded at her with a serious look on his face.

"Noona can ask me anything she wants." He offered and Lina was sure to take him up on that offer.

"Would you be mad if your girlfriend lied to you?" She interrogated almost immediately.

The sudden question about relationship matters made the man who only had women running after him without any intentions of a proper relationship to choke once again.

He looked away to avert his eyes but soon widened them when he realized something.

"Is Noona lying to Mr. Ming already?" He questioned incredulously.

'That man is a cold demon and you dared to lie to him? Why would you do that to yourself!?' His thoughts were clear on his face.

This time it was Lina's turn to choke when she understood what nonsense was going on in his mind.

"Not me! For someone else!" She defended herself with a continuous shake of her head.

'Everyone says that but it ends up for themselves!' He stared at her with suspicion apparent in his eyes.

But soon he had to avert his judging eyes as they were met with Lina's glowing eyes.

"I have not lied to Ruby before!" She asserted as this was true without an ounce of fallacy in it.

She had hidden certain parts of her true identity yet never lied to him about it.

'He will know everything about me when the time is right.' She decided in her heart and then looked up at Steph once again.

"Will you help me or should I find someone else?" She scoffed at him which seemed to have done the task of scaring him.

After being threatened, Steph chose that it was better to stop teasing her about it.

"No. I would not like it if my girlfriend lied to me but that is IF I ever get a girlfriend." He said his piece and then pouted all over again.

Getting the answer that she was expecting, Lina nodded as she fell back into contemplation.

'What is up with Noona today? First, she is bothered about a stupid ashtray then she asks weird questions and now she ignored me when I told her that I need a girlfriend as well!' He wept for his nasty luck today.

While he was thinking of ways to get her attention back on him, Lina was trying to think of what to do next.

'If Jackson is being lied to then shouldn't I say something about it?' She wondered while rubbing his chin.

The only thing missing was a long white beard as at this moment, she looked like a grand old man thinking of what to do with his free time.

Soon, she realized that even if she wished to speak to Jackson about this matter there was no way that she could contact him.

'Ugh! Now I will never be able to tell him to pay attention to what his girlfriend says!' She sneered at herself for not taking his contact information.

Though she did not want to interfere in his personal matters, she had liked the guy genuinely and only wished for him to not be duped by the woman whom he seemed to adore immensely.

Annoyed at herself and the circumstances in which they had met, Lina rose from her seat to take her leave.

'I'll ask Benji to tap into the apartment building's security footage to figure out more information about Jackson.' She planned her next move.

She nodded as she was determined to reveal this matter to the man whom she had met only for a few minutes.
