Chapter 321 - She Doesn't Like Attention

"I am going to buy a car after I drop you off at the hotel in the afternoon." Benji scoffed as he turned around to face the woman who sat in the backseat of the car.

Right now, they were in Reuben's car which would first drop them off at Obsidia and then move towards Ming Enterprise soon after.

The driver who was paying attention to the road shot a sideways glance at the big man who sat beside him before looking away.

Reuben and Lina sat in the backseat and turned their eyes towards the man who was huffing in anger.

'She changed our plans at the last minute and now we have to hitch a ride from this man?' Benji scowled as he glared at the heir of the Ming Enterprises before looking out of the window.

He was still mad at the man who was the reason why his phone had dropped to the floor and was destroyed without any chance of redemption.

He was also the one who had broken into his house to take away Lina's clothes.

The small incidents were piling up in his heart and his animosity with Reuben rose every day.

Today, he had planned to call Derek to drive them to Obsidia but was informed by Lina that Reuben would take them over instead.

He was happy for her but he needed to distance them so that they do not get too dependent on each other.

Hence, he had come up with the plan of buying a car and getting a license which would give him the ability to drive his boss around even when her chauffeur wasn't present.

Lina was unaware of his scheming intentions and was happy for him as this would mean that they could hang out without having to wait for someone to come pick and drop them all the time.

"Do not buy a flashy car! Inconspicuous is the key!" She warned him with her eyes narrowed.

Garnering attention due to an overly expensive and striking car was not something that she would prefer which was something that Benji was already aware of.

Therefore, he rolled his eyes as he nodded and continued to look out of the window.

Reuben stayed silent as he collected all of the information that he could from their little conversation.

'She doesn't like attention.' He surmised and smiled that his Kitten was unlike the other socialites in the city who demanded attention everywhere they went.

As he was thinking of this, Lina's office building was fast approaching and he realized that they would have to part now.

Not wasting the few seconds that they had before the car came to a halt, he leaned closer and caressed her cheek.

Lina smiled as she leaned into his palm and gazed at the man whose gesture warmed her heart.

The lips which were curved to form a smile were pressed against by another pair which surprised her.

'This guy!' She rolled her eyes before closing them.

Lina took this opportunity and bit his lower lip before sucking it as she knew that he would soon break the kiss.

The car had come to a halt but no one exited from it which made the security guards to leer at it from a distance.

Driver san, who had caught the scene of his master kissing the future madam quickly averted his eyes.

'Master is so brave!' He cheered and kept his eyes lowered to avoid peeking at their intimate moment.

Lina's lips were now being repeatedly kissed and sucked in retaliation to the bold move she had made earlier.

"Ahem!" Benji's cough succeeded in bringing them back to their senses, causing them to promptly break the kiss.

Reuben rested his forehead on hers and smiled as he looked down at her.

"Mangoes." He muttered with a mischievous smile and kissed her lips once again.

Lina blushed as he had guessed the flavor of her lip gloss which by now had been completely wiped off thanks to their kiss.

"And kiwis." She added, making the man chuckle in response to her cute behavior.

Benji could not stop his eyes from rolling while the Driver was trying his best to not cheer out loud for his boss who had made such great progress in so little time.

"I'll see you for lunch. Be there at 1, Kitten." He instructed as he pecked her one last time before sitting back in his upright posture.

Lina blushed when she saw him wipe his thumb over his lips which were glistening due to her gloss which had smeared over him during their kiss.

Not finding the words to speak up, she gave him a quick nod before turning towards the door.

Predicting what her next actions were, Benji got out of the car and held the door open for her before she could do it for herself.

Lina glanced at her boyfriend one last time and smiled before she exited the car.

Reuben turned his gaze and watched until his Kitten and her assistant entered the building.

Only after they had disappeared from his sight did he turn towards the driver and command him to drive away.

Driver San was thinking of how to narrate the episode of what just happened with their boss in the car to Asst Kim when he noticed that his stone-cold boss now had a smile on his face.

'Miss Lina is truly a fairy who has done the impossible!' He praised the woman who had managed something that they deemed unachievable.

Reuben's employees had only witnessed his devilish smile which meant that someone was in trouble for pissing him off.

However, the smile he had on right now was a satisfied and pleasant smile which they had never seen before.

'I shall finish my work faster so that I get to spend more time with Kitten when she arrives in the afternoon.' He decided and waited for the car to reach Ming Enterprises.

On the other hand, Lina walked next to Benji as she strode towards the elevator.

"What kind of car are you planning to get?" She inquired as she waited for the elevator to arrive.

The passersby were shooting curious glances at the woman who was dressed as though she was out for a race instead of a day at work.

Benji shook his head indicating that he had not yet come to a conclusion on what the model and make of his new car would be.

Lina sighed at his indecisive behavior and stepped into the elevator that had finally arrived.

"Let's go meet Wade and inform him about the leave first." She proposed and received a nod as Benji was on board with her idea.

The elevator reached the topmost floor of Obsidia and as the door separated, Lina met the sight of the busy secretaries who were running around to make sure that everything was in order for when their boss arrived.

"He hasn't come yet?" She whispered to Benji who stood next to her and stepped out of the elevator.

"Seems like it." He replied as he scanned the room to find his older brother, Kirk who might give them further information about Wade's whereabouts.

Finding the man he had been looking for, Benji pointed with his chin in that direction and the two stepped ahead in the same way.
