Chapter 390 - You Have Guts

Benji's fingers danced on the keyboard as he began hacking into the security system of his apartment building and concentrated to increase his speed in order to get this done with as quickly as possible.

'I'll be inside their system in… 3… 2…' He smirked at how easily he had managed to bypass their firewall.

The glint of victory and gloating in his eyes faded when he saw what flashed on his computer.

His furrowed brows proved that things were not going according to what he had been expecting.

In fact, things were moving in the wrong direction.

'Heh!? You dare to counterattack?' He sneered at whoever it was who was trying to gain access to his laptop.

Until now, he had only been playing around to finish his work and get some sleep but it looked like sleep would have to wait for longer as someone was courting death today.

While Benji was defending his computer from the onslaught of the other party, he was also trying to locate who it was that was so bent upon taking a peek at his identity.

___

In the Security department of the Ming Enterprises,

"What am I paying them for!?" Reuben sneered at Trigger who lowered his head.

Every single one of these men in this department was chosen by Trigger and was more or less considered to be his subordinates.

To have such useless men who could not even fend off a cyberattack at his security system was an eye-opener to him.

The five men in his department were trying hard to figure out which person had eaten the leopard's heart to have such gall as to try and hack into the Emperor's business.

After all, not only was the apartment building a part of his business but it was also where he lived so being lax in its security could be harmful to the Emperor.

"Tsk!" The Emperor clicked his tongue in annoyance when noticed how these men were struggling to keep up with the attacker.

'Looks like I have to involve him…' He thought and pulled his phone out to call someone else for a favor.

Just as he was about to connect the call to Wayne, his friend who could help him with these tech issues, he heard a loud exclamation.

"Boss, we got the location of the attacker but the connection was cut off before we could get any further information." One of the men wiped the sweat off his brows as he gasped to relay this information to their boss.

The attack had disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.

The men were still struggling to find the information of the attacker but he had vanished without a trace.

This could only be done by someone who was proficient at hacking as he did not have a problem with dealing with five men at the same time.

Just for a split second, they could trace his location, and then he had disappeared without leaving a single trail behind.

Reuben just glanced at them and did not have to say another word as these men pulled up the location on the large computer screen.

"It's coming from your building, Boss." Trigger muttered with a strange expression appearing on his face.

'Who could be talented enough to sneak into our system and even manage to evade my men?' He narrowed his eyes as this was a shameful matter to him.

His men could not even manage to pinpoint his exact location while the attacker had moved in and out of their system.

"Was anything stolen?" Reuben questioned in a doubtful tone as there was a suspect already popping up in his mind after listening to the information they had recovered.

The sounds of furious clicks on the keyboard were heard after Reuben had completed his words.

A few seconds later, the answer was found and this made them dumbfoundedly stare at the files which had been looked at.

"Just the security footage of the entrance of the building on xx date was stolen, Sir." A man announced as he pointed at the footage.

After receiving Reuben's nod, the footage was played and there was silence as the screen began to display the image of a car coming and going from the apartment.

Not much had attracted his attention other than the fact that the woman who had exited from the car was his beloved Kitten.

'This must be from the day that she had come to visit me when she heard that I was sick.' He deduced after taking a moment to think about this matter.

If his assumptions were right then the person driving the car must be the kind stranger who had dropped her safely at his apartment.

Now, the person whom Reuben had been suspecting to be the one to attack his security system was confirmed.

'He lives in my building and is looking for footage associated with Kitten.' He did not have to think any further as there was only one who could be the culprit in this situation.

"Strengthen our firewall so that no such attacks take place again." He ordered Trigger who accepted the commands with a bow.

Nodding at his obedience, Reuben turned around to leave the room but halted in his steps when he heard his new assistant calling out to him.

"What about the culprit, Master?" He inquired as he needed to know who had dared to make a move against his Master.

This question brought Reuben's signature devilish smile but none of them could witness it as his back was still towards them.

"You will get to meet him soon." He answered in a vague manner and then strode out of the room.

Trigger's curiosity and confusion were not quenched as he watched the CEO leaving the room without waiting any longer.

This prompted the big and well-built assistant to follow his Master and ran to catch up with him.

On the way back to his office, Reuben tapped the screen of his phone and smirked after dialing a number.

'You have guts to move against me, Benjamin Douglas.' He sneered while placing the phone to his ear and waited for the other person to pick his call.
