Chapter 438 - Assigning Duties

In a place far away from Obsidia Designs' Headquarters,  people were busy with the tasks they had been given by their bosses.

Plans were being discussed, decisions taken, and duties allotted to the selected few who had been chosen for the perfect execution of a grand scheme.

Soon the entire city would be engulfed in the shocking news which would expose the secrets of a certain somebody gaining attention from many people for quite a while now.

Preparations for this exposé would soon come to an end and in no time it would be brought to everyone's attention.

The main conspirators were nowhere to be seen as everything was handed over to their minions to avoid getting implicated in the mess that they would soon bring about.

They had faith, both in their carefully thought out schemes and the people they had put in charge of these important tasks.

However, the one at the center of this grand scheme was clueless about the dangers surrounding them right at this moment which would prove itself to be troublesome in the future.

Currently, that very same person was busy with another matter at hand.

Back at Obsidia's building, the conference hall remained silent with only one voice being heard from beginning to end.

Lina's words flowed as she explained LY's intentions and how the jewelry designs would accentuate Stephen's gowns.

Everyone had their eyes glued to the screen as they took in the view of the final drafts created by LY next to the respective dresses they would be paired with that Steph had designed.

Even Mrs. Tong could not deny that the jewelry shown on the screen was the perfect addition to the clothes and they brought out each others' brilliance.

By the time Lina was done with her presentation, everyone seemed excited for the release of Obsidia's Winter Collection.

The most enthusiastic of them all was old man Oswald Wren as he could imagine the rapid influx of profit coming into their company's account.

Being the Director of Finance, he took his job seriously and loved it when an inflow of cash took place just as much as he hated it when they needed to spend money for various other aspects.

Wade glanced at Stephen Jin with praise in his eyes which was accepted by a nod from the young man.

Steph had worked hard to create those designs and with LY's addition, they were perfect in his sight.

Therefore, the puppy turned his eyes towards his Noona who had made it all possible.

The wide smile which expressed his gratitude towards her for reaching out to LY on his behalf and working as the mediator between them fell on Lina's eyes and she smiled in response.

Now that the designs were ready and could head on to the creation process, Steph would have a lot to do as he and his team would personally prepare these dresses.

On the other hand, LY's team consisting of Aya, Old man Hitoshi, and the others were also prepared to put in their best to bring life to LY's creations.

With the production process falling on these two teams, the rest of the work was in the hands of the others present here.

Wade turned his eyes towards Old man Oswald and smirked, causing the other man to flinch.

Lina chuckled as she had gained an understanding of the Director of Finance's personality by now.

'Penny pincher.' She labeled him and what happened next proved this theory of hers.

"Director Wren, I will have to trouble you to find the perfect place for displaying our Winter Collection." Wade assigned this task to him.

The last time, Old man Oswald had done a stellar job in finding the hotel for LY's first-ever auction in the country, and hence, this time as well, the job fell in his capable hands.

The old man frowned as he would once again have to struggle to find the best hotel to arrange the fashion show that would be utilized to display the Winter Collection.

'Cannot spend too much money!' He clenched his fists in determination to find the perfect place without spending too much.

Low investment with high returns was the goal he always wished to attain and he would work hard to achieve it.

"Don't you worry, I will find the chea- ahem… I mean, the best place for this event." He promised as he conveniently swallowed the word 'cheapest' and replaced it with 'best' before anyone could notice it.

However, almost everyone who had come in contact with him before was already aware of what he was planning to do.

Wade nodded happily as he too had similar thoughts and was pleased with his decision to appoint Oswald to this task.

'They look like father and son with those expressions.' She alternated her gaze between the two men who smirked at the thought of saving money while earning money after the event.

Shaking her head, she decided to ignore this as they were working to increase profits for her company which was to her advantage in the first place.

'Don't just keep grinning the entire time!' She rolled her eyes while kicking Wade under the table which managed to bring him out of his greedy thoughts.

She shrugged at her cousin who glared at her then pointed her chin to the rest still seated here, reminding him that he had to move to the next topic at hand.

Therefore, the VP cleared his throat after realizing his mistake and turned his gaze to the next department that needed to be assigned another task.

Director of PR, Ivan Zhou was handed the task of announcing the event which would take place at the end of this month.

They only had two weeks left but when Stephen and Mr. Hitoshi promised to complete their work well before that, Wade was reassured and decided on that date.

On the last Friday of the month, the Winter Collection would be released and it was the work of the Marketing Department to create hype for the event and also to promote their brand on social media.

Lina was also involved in this as a part of the Marketing Department and she accepted it with excitement.

Finally, the last two people who had not yet been assigned any tasks were Mrs. Tong and the other lady who had made an appearance for the first time today according to Lina's memories.

As an important member of the Clothing department, Mrs. Tong had the right to attend this meeting but there wasn't much for her to do for the Winter Collection.

Therefore, Wade turned his eyes towards the other lady as she had a lot to accomplish here.

"Miss Han, we will be needing your aid." He uttered and saw her nod.

Lina's curious eyes on him were ignored as Wade focused his attention on the lady which was making his little sister inquisitive to know more about her.

'Hmm~' She rubbed her chin while fixing her gaze on her brother and assessing his body language.

Wade's back was straightened, his expressions were professional and proper but Lina could not help but feel that something was odd about him right now.

'He looks like a gentleman…' She shuddered at this thought as she was not used to seeing him behave this way.

Polite and considerate were the words that she would use to describe Wade right now and that was what she realized was unusual about him today.

This thought made her turn in the direction of the woman who was taking part in the serious conversation with Wade.

Lina's keen eyes were able to peer through those thick glasses she wore and figured out what had brought about this change in Wade today.

'She's pretty!' She gushed as now she paid attention to the conversation between them.

The lady with the surname Han was a lawyer who worked for Obsidia and rarely appeared at the office if it wasn't for important meetings like the one they had today.

The VP and Kelly Han, Head of the Legal department of Obsidia were discussing certain matters which were needed to release the Winter Collection with ease.

Judging from the way Kelly conducted herself and her demeanor, Lina was sure that she was from some influential family as her posture and etiquettes were perfect.

However, her competence, her good looks, and her behavior were secondly as she had discovered something new about this lady seated on the other side of the table.

'Kelly seems to be older than Wade!' She realized this based on the way her cousin was conversing with her.

The twinkle in his eyes did not go unnoticed by Lina's keen sight as she had now understood the cause of the changes she had observed today.

Wade could sense her steady gaze on his face but he refused to acknowledge it and paid attention to Kelly and what she was saying right now.

But Lina did not need him to turn towards her as she had already realized what was going on here.

Lina knew Wade's preferences and based on what she saw today, she could confirm that she was right about the speculation she had come up with.

'He has a crush on her!' She declared with confidence as the man next to her had just shot Kelly his winning smile when their conversation came to an end.

He only did that when he was trying to impress someone and this, she knew all too well as she had witnessed similar scenes in the past.

However, none of those scenarios worked out in her poor cousin's favor but that was a topic for another day.

Right now, her attention was on Wade and his interest in this lady named Kelly Han.

When the conversation with Kelly had finally come to an end, Wade fretted doing this but he knew that he had to do it nonetheless.

Therefore, he slowly turned towards his little sister who was still looking at him.

When their eyes met, Wade's fears were proven right in the next second thanks to what he saw.

Lina's lips were curved to form a wicked smirk and mirth danced around in those hazel eyes as she raised an eyebrow in victory.

'I have your secret in the palm of my hands~' She snickered in silence which succeeded in bringing panic to Wade's eyes.

What he had been trying to conceal was now revealed to Lina which was what he feared the most.

His fetish for older women was not a secret among his friends and family but his current crush on this employee in Obsidia most certainly was.

However, what was he to do now that his mischievous and devilish little cousin had discovered this secret today?
