(Sorry guys, but I'm back… kind of. I promise this is not getting dropped any time soon. Release rate is just gonna be really shitty so bȧrė with me. Sleep apnea plus school is not a fun combo.)
The hall was massive. It was at least the size of a football field. The walls were detailed to look like large stone blocks carved into the mountain. It was impressive considering that the entire structure was built inside a mountain.
On each of the long walls of the hall, there were four massive openings. Above each opening, there was a crystal that had an energy beam shooting out of it. All eight beams converged into one crystal at the far end of the room that was embedded over an even larger opening.
Tyler turned to Beowulf. "I'm guessing these 9 openings are the 9 bosses. It seems that we can do the first 8 in any order we want and then we can proceed to the 9th."
Beowulf nodded. "That would make sense. I am curious what the bosses are gonna be like. Do you think they'll be similar to the world boss we encountered?"
Tyler nodded. "I would think so. However, this is a mythic raid so the bosses are probably going to be meaty as fuċk."
Beowulf sighed. "You are probably right on that one. Hopefully we will be able to handle it."
Tyler chuckled. "You underestimate our abilities brother, we are some of the strongest people in the galaxy, let alone Limitless." He then turned to his guild mates. "Alright, ummmmmm… you! Pick a number between one and sixteen!"
The elite member raised her brow. "Ummm, nine?"
Tyler laughed. "Alright, door one it is!"
Everyone rolled their eyes. However, they all knew that there wasn't really a better way to do this since they had no knowledge of the raid. Tyler led the group through the first opening.
Inside was a totally different environment. It was a tight hall that could bȧrėly fit 5 people across. Thus, they had to travel in 10 groups of 5 with the 3 Jedi in the middle in case something happened. Afterall, players could respawn, NPC's could not.
As they walked down the hall, lamps would ignite with the neon green fel flames of the burning legion. It was nerve racking that there were no enemies present in the hallway. A short distance into the hallway, there was a seemingly endless staircase. After a few minutes of walking, they reached the end of the staircase.'
It expanded into a large circular room. As the last of the group entered the room, large green torches lit up around the perimeter of the room. Lining the edges of the room sat what appeared to be various workshops and half completed war machines.
The green light revealed a humongous demon in the middle of the room.
*Xorkath, Antaen, Boss*
*Assistant Engineer of the Apocalypse*
It was about 50 feet tall and sitting on a throne. It was leaning on its right hand with its elbow propped up on the arm of the chair. Xorkath had an indifferent look on his face.
He scoffed. "Who is interrupting my break?" He looked up and scorned at the players. "Ah, it has been many years since mortals last entered my workshop. I hope you'll entertain me!"
Xorkath stood up and grabbed a sledgehammer that was leaning against his throne. It looked like mjolnir with an elongated handle. He raised the hammer and green lightning shot out towards the ceiling.
In what sounded like an explosion, two large war machines dropped from the ceiling onto the ground and sparked to life with neon green eyes and energy flowing throughout them.
*Fel Reaver, Mechanical, Elite*
*Level 67*
Fortunately, everyone aside from Tyler had gained a level or two off of the enemies in the courtyard since they were multiple levels below them. If they hadn't reached an average of level 65, they would have no chance against these enemies.
Xorkath was just standing there, grinning. After scanning over the group of players, he wore a smug look on his face and sat back down without a care in the world.
Tyler turned to Beowulf. "Any ideas?"
Beowulf shrugged. "Master Kenobi, do you have any recommendations for how we should handle this?"
Obi Wan nodded. "This situation is quite new to me. However, from my experience, I have found that when facing opponents that are much larger than you, it is best to use a series of diversion and flanking tactics. This will result in avoiding a head on confrontation."
Tyler nodded. "That could work. It would appear that one of his abilities is Fel Lightning. I presume that it is a multitarget attack. In addition, he seems to be able to summon these mechanical life forms."
Beowulf nodded. "That seems sensible. I would also put my money on a melee AOE attack with that sledgehammer. Possibly one that involved the Fel Lightning too."
Tyler smiled. "This shouldn't be too hard then. I should be able to tank the boss and deal most of the damage since I am level 77 at this point. I'll take a few stimpacks with me in case shit hits the fan."
Beowulf sighed. "Your leveling speed really is inhuman."
Tyler shrugged. "What can I say, I am the guild leader of the strongest guild afterall."
Beowulf rolled his eyes. "I swear, Draco, you're one of a kind."
Tyler smirked and turned to his guildmates. "Everyone got the plan? If so, let's do this!" He spun back around towards Xorkath and said, "Alright, let's go shit stain!" He then ran at Xorkath.
The demon just scoffed as he watched the puny jedi run towards him. Raising his hammer with two hands, lightning sparked off of it as he swung it down.
As if expecting it, Tyler jumped over the hammer as he unsheathed his purple sabers and made a twin slash through Xorkath's shoulder.
The demon shrieked in agony before transitioning into a maniacal laugh. "HAHAHA! So this is what pain feels like! Seems like this will be more fun than I could have ever hoped for!"
Tyler grimaced. "Fuck. NOW!"
At that moment, the tanks all split between the two Reavers with a few medics for each of them. At the same time, Kai and Anakin went to one Reaver while Obi Wan took the role of DPS on the other.
The rest of the players all remained on the backside of Xorkath to provide supporting damage as Tyler tanked it. He enhanced his body with the force to be able to deflect the hammer strikes but they still hurt like a bitch.
Xorkath grinned as his strikes were getting deflected. "You are the first to last this long."
Tyler chuckled as he flipped backwards away from a strike. "I bet you don't even last this long in bed!"
Xorkath's eyes widened. "HOW DARE YOU INSULT ME! FOOLISH MORTAL! NOW… YOU DIE!"
He took a step backwards and raised his hammer. "Lord Sargeras, please lend me your power to smite down this pathetic mortal."
Green lightning struck the hammer before Xorkath redirected it towards Tyler. Reacting quickly, Tyler crossed his sabers in front of him just as the lightning reached him. His purple sabers absorbed the green bolt as he was shoved back from the extreme force. He slid across the ground.
Tyler gritted his teeth and grunted under the sheer magnitude of the attack. "FUCKIN INTERRUPT HIM OR SOMETHING!"
Shaking out of their stupor, everyone unleashed their blasters on the demon. Within seconds, the lightning ceased. Xorkath spun around with his hammer sticking out to clear the space around him. Everyone dodged just in time.
The demon scoffed. "It would seem that your little friends came to your rescue. Guess I might have to get a bit more serious to finish you all."
Tyler smirked. "COME!"
Xorkath chuckled. "As you wish, mortal. But first, tell me your name."
Tyler nodded as he fell into his combat stance. He looked similar to Kirito from Sword Art Online. "I am Draco, Jedi Knight."
Xorkath smiled. "Very well, Draco. I will commit your name to my memory. I doubt that any mortal can challenge me as you have thus far. Unfortunately, this workshop will be your tomb!"
The demon charged at Tyler with his hammer lagging behind him. He jumped into the air and raised the hammer over his head with both hands, preparing for a powerful strike.
Rather than setting a defence, Tyler used the force to jump and meet the demon with a grin. Xorkath smiled and swung the hammer but it missed its mark.
Tyler used the force to move himself mid air to just dodge the strike and landed on the demon's shoulder. He swiftly sunk his sabers right into its upper back. He twisted them as he pulled them out.
Tyler flipped through the air. Using the force, he stabilized himself and somehow landed on his feet. Looking up towards the demon, he saw a horrifying sight.
Xorkath was now ablaze with green flames. Fel lightning was shooting off of him and scorching the ground around him. "You should be honored that you've pushed me this far. In fact, you almost killed me with that last stunt. However, now you're really done for. Even I don't know what this power will do to a mortal."
Tyler shrugged as he put his sabers away. "Well, I don't know if I want to find out." He raised his hands and blue lightning sparked off his finger tips. "Let's see how you like a taste of your own medicine!"
He then shot two bolts of lightning at the demon. Xorkath raised his hammer to block the bolts. They collided with the hammer and crackled loudly.
The interaction was quite mesmerizing. The bolts combined into a blinding ball of light on the hammer. The head was beginning to glow red as green arcs of lightning scorched the ground.
Xorkath widened his eyes as he watched his hammer heat up. "HOW?! NO MORTAL COULD EVER DAMAGE THIS HAMMER INFUSED WITH THE LIFE ESSENCE OF KIN'GAROTH!"
Tyler smiled as he put more strength into the attack. "I am not your typical mortal. Underestimating me has been your downfall."
The hammer started to crack. Within seconds, it shattered as the pieces fell to the ground.
Xorkath scoffed as this happened. "It would seem that my hammer is not enough." He quickly dropped the shaft and used his right hand to absorb the lightning. He slowly converted it into fel lightning and absorbed its energy into his body.
Steam began to come off his wounds as they closed up. Noticing this, Tyler quickly stopped his attack. "Looks like you have a bit more fight in you."
Xorkath chuckled. "Jedi, you have not seen even half of my strength yet. I only use that hammer to honor my mentor who gave it to me. Now, I will use your life essence to forge a new one. I thank you for delivering yourself to me so conveniently."
He flexed his arms and whipped his fists out. Each one created a sonic boom as his arms extended. Green energy pulsed off of him. It was almost as if this demon was the hulk with force powers and more intelligence.
Xorkath opened one of his fists and a large ball of fel flames formed in his palm. Raising his arm, he threw the ball at Tyler while forming another in his left hand. He then quickly threw that one at Tyler as well.
With the two huge balls of fire flying towards him, Tyler momentarily froze. In a moment of inspiration, he mustered up a large amount of force energy. Releasing it all at once, a shockwave like that of a bomb surged out of his body.
Colliding with the balls of flame, they dissipated immediately. Tyler breathed heavily, exhausted from this strenuous attack.
Xorkath grinned as he saw this and charged forward. As he ran, he coated his hands with fel lightning and flattened his hands as if he were going to chop something.
Seeing this, Tyler quickly unsheathed his purple sabers and flipped backwards to avoid a downwards slash. The demon quickly followed up with a swipe using his other hand. In turn, Tyler swung his right saber upwards and deflected the strike, causing it to bȧrėly miss him.
Xorkath then raised both of his hands, preparing for a cross slash. Rather than being fearful, Tyler saw this as an opportunity. The demon had left his ċhėst fully exposed.
He coated his lightsabers in force lightning as he prayed this would work. He then charged forward and jumped towards the demon. As Xorkath's hands began to come down, Tyler sunk his sabers into the demon's ċhėst.
This successfully interrupted the attack as the demon staggered. Tyler then yelled. "GIVE 'EM EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!"
A hail of blaster fire rained upon the demon's back. Since Tyler staggered Xorkath, he was in a weakened state. The blaster bolts actually damaged him and left scorch marks on his back.
Xorkath screamed in agony as he was being wounded. "YOU'LL NEVER GET AWAY WITH THIS!" His body began to crack as green light started shining out of him.
After a few seconds, Tyler screamed as he put all the energy he had left into the lightning coating his sabers. Xorkath went silent as his eyes dimmed. He then exploded into a pile of credits and holocrons.
Tyler dropped to the ground and passed out from exhaustion. This battle pushed him to his limits. As he passed out, he heard two dings as he leveled up twice.
