A few hours later.
Leo and Alex finally met up with the rest at the agreed location, who had been waiting for them for quite a while already.
The place that they gathered together is inside a hangar in a military airbase on the island, not far from the Naval Station.
"Seems like you guys looted quite a lot while we were away" Leo said fresh from the bath while wiping off his body with a piece of towel.
"Yes boss, we got a lot of medicines from looting a nearby hospital earlier"
Lin and the rest stopped what they were doing and quickly stood up in attention, and those people who weren't used to this kind of actions like Bella and the others were startled at first before they quickly followed suit.
Leo just casually waved his hands away and said, "Don't mind me, and the people who wants to take a bath, go"
Saying those words, Bella and a few other people quickly grabbed their towel and slowly made their way towards the makeshift shower in an orderly manner, but when they were a little bit further away from Leo and the rest, their slowly increase their pace before it turned into a sprint as they have been waiting long enough and are eager to wash away those dirt stuck on their bodies due to their operation from earlier today.
"Anyway, what are you guys making for dinner?" Leo said as he walked over to their makeshift kitchen.
"Porridge boss, then some sausages" Carl said while stirring the pot full of porridge.
Leo laughed and said, "Then don't forget to make it delicious, okay?!"
"Of course! When did my cooking ever disappoint you, boss?" Carl also laughed along as he raised a thumbs up to what Leo had said.
"Anyway, where's Alex at?" Leo asked as he looked around the hangar.
Lin who was busy frying the multiple sausages on the pan replied, "I think he's still out patrolling around the place boss"
"I see" Leo said, then he walked away as he headed outside where the sky had already turned dark.
Leo looked at the map hovering at the corner of his eye, and when he pinpointed where Alex could be, only then did he start making his way over to his direction.
He heard the sound of zombies coming from somewhere, and the closer he got to that direction, the clearer it became, along with the sound of a sword slicing through something becoming more distinct.
Leo had already walked a little distance away from the hangar and reached another building where he immediately saw Alex engaging in combat with tens of zombies that were trying to get their hands on him.
He didn't do anything after that, but just stood there and watched Alex as he slowly dispatched the zombies one by one with no problem at all.
There wasn't even a single sweat or a frown on his face while he was doing that.
Over a minute later, the last zombie finally fell under Alex's blade.
Then knowing that Leo had been watching him the whole time, he slowly turned towards him and said, "Sir, do you need me for something?"
Leo smiled and said, "Nope, just don't over do it. Take a rest sometime when it's needed"
He advised, knowing that Alex is still made of human flesh combined with his android body.
"I will, sir" Alex answered, then he continued, "What will be our plans after we meet those survivors living on that ship, sir?"
Leo thought for a moment, and replied, "We'll see how it goes, if those people are willing to join us, then we'll accept them. After all, their ship is the only thing that's working among the many ships docked on the harbor. The only problem is that it would need a lot of maintenance"
"So tomorrow, while waiting for the Battle Tank to arrive. We'll focus on raiding the nearby banks and any places that have cash in it, and at the same time, loot all of the necessary materials for building a base on the island" Leo continued.
"And the battle prowess we showed today would make sure to keep that Z at bay for the time being, it wouldn't dare to venture out far as long as it knows that we're still here. We might not be able to kill because of their sheer numbers, but it knows it would be killed in the moment of carelessness" Leo said, as deep inside, he was amazed that such a Z isn't the same as its counterparts, who would just blindly charge ahead.
Which made such an intelligent zombie much harder to deal with.
"Out of all the Z's we had met, we only managed to kill one. I really hope the Scorpion Battle Tank is enough to take on the entire horde"
Alex then replied saying, "Ordinary zombies won't be able to do anything to the Battle Tank, but a Charger and Tank Zombie certainly could damage it sir"
Walking side by side, the one and a half men can be seen walking around the compound, Leo smiled saying, "Of course, I know that, but their numbers are almost those we had faced in Washington. We had an army to support us back there, while currently right now, our numbers are a mere fledging"
Leo then stopped walking as he turned his head towards Alex, who also stopped walking and said, "I will be moving by myself tomorrow, I want you to lead the others and loot as many as resources as you can and bring them to the island. It would be more assuring to me if you are the one leading them in my absence"
"I will, sir"
'And while by myself, I'll see if there are still survivors groups living around here. Maybe I can even ask them to join my ranks, or just eliminate them if they turn out to be a group of not so good people'
Soon after, the two returned, and the group had a short dinner before they went to bed, while they took turns keeping a lookout for every three hours till sunrise.
