Chapter 28 - A Fight Ensued

Lin Fei frowned. She had no idea what family heirloom her mother was talking about. Just as she was about to speak, she heard a scream coming from above her.

“Mother, I have to hang up now.” Lin Fei said and ended her call. After Lin Fei hung up the phone, she stood up. It turned out that a woman was standing on the stairs above. She was wearing pajamas and looked like a sweet lady.

While Lin Fei was sizing up Qiao Ran, Qiao Ran observed Lin Fei. Perhaps, this girl was Lu Han’s lover that he met from somewhere else?

“Tsk, tsk. Look at you. You have a bad figure and not even a pretty face. As if the Young Master would fall for someone like you. Stop dreaming!” Lin Fei said. Lin Fei had always been sharp-tongued. She would have even less mercy for someone like Qiao Ran, who she saw as her love rival. Qiao Ran was annoyed by Lin Fei’s insult. While it was true that her body was not as plump and curvaceous as Lin Fei’s, but their beauty was on a similar level. 

“What did you say? I dare you to repeat it!” Qiao Ran yelled.

“What did you say? I dare you to repeat it!” Lin Fei immediately mocked Qiao Ran with her own words. 

Qiao Ran was furious after hearing the insults, so she immediately gave Lin Fei a hard slap to the face. No one had ever dared to slap her since she was young. Lin Fei immediately hit back at Qiao Ran, and they started to fight. 

Uncle Tang finally understood why the Young Master had asked him to bring back the fake Guan Tong. He signaled the servants to leave to two girls alone. When Guan Tong finished dealing with her grandmother’s matter, it was already dark. Their expensive car rolled to the front, which caused passers-by to look back simultaneously. Lu Han and Guan Tong got into the car.

After getting into the car, Guan Tong clenched a part of her clothes. She wasn’t sure what Lu Han’s reaction would be after telling him, but she still had to. “Lu Han, I have something to tell you.”

“What do you want to say?” Lu Han focused on the woman in front of him. Guan Tong wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or not, but she could have sworn that she saw anticipation in Lu Han’s eyes. She recalled the past when she was spending time with Lu Han. His gaze made her feel pressured, and the words that were at the tip of her tongue almost couldn’t find their way out.

“Nothing, I’m just a little hungry.” Guan Tong loosened her fist and calmed down.

Disappointment flashed across Lu Han’s eyes. He thought that Guan Tong would have the courage to reveal her true identity. It didn’t matter to him, and he could wait until the time was right when Guan Tong was ready to tell him the truth.

“Let’s go. I’ll take you to someplace with good food,” Lu Han adjusted his mood and said to Guan Tong. Guan Tong’s emotion weighed down on her. She ignored what Lu Han said until the car stopped at the entrance of a small alley.

“Where are we?” Guan Tong was confused. The location was somewhere behind a university. This alley was filled with snacks and street foods, especially those famous among university students. Lu Han’s luxurious car seemed quite odd in that environment. 

“Uncle Tang said that this street is full of food that all the girls love.” She didn’t know if it was because of the flickering lights at night, but Guan Tong saw that Lu Han’s face was flushing. He probably had never eaten this kind of food before.

‘Young Master, you were the one who wanted to bring Madam here. I never gave such a recommendation.’ Uncle Tang was confused, and he thought to himself quietly. 

“Madam, I just asked some people, and they said that there are many specialties here, delicious food.” He played along.

Guan Tong raised her eyebrows. She was sure the butler and his master duo were trying to deceive her. Perhaps, Lu Han had some kind of conspiracy planned without her knowing. Maybe, he was trying to console her. She immediately ruled out the second possibility. Why would Lu Han comfort her since he hated her from the beginning?

“Let’s go and try some.” Lu Han coughed twice as he awkwardly invited Guan Tong.
