Simon returned to his mansion with his new pet. Since there was plenty of room to spare, Kitty was allowed to occupy his own room and even sit at the dinner table when the time calls for it. So long as Kitty respected the rules and flushed the toilet when he was done with it, Simon would not have any problems. Of course, Kitty did not d.e.s.i.r.e for his new master to throw him out after only half a day, so Kitty was usually quiet and barely made noise in the mansion.
While Simon had the time to be alone, he decided to train at maximum capacity. For the next half a month until Blue eventually completes her trial, Simon resolved himself to stay locked up in his room and cultivate. Although this sounded boring and probably unhealthy for mortals, Simon was indeed not a mortal. He had transcended the limits of a standard human long ago.
Simon spent his days like this, undisturbed as an elder of the Divine Tempest Sect. Although he would soon be required to perform some duties, Simon still needed time to train himself. If he doesn't get any time to progress, naturally the duties are not worth it.
"Let's aim for the 5th layer of Nascent Soul."
While this was happening, the YuLuShu brothers had been spending their time destroying more bandit camps, eventually finding themselves without any more opponents to face in the forest. Aside from the occasional roadside scammer, there was no one else that was brave enough to face the brothers.
After training against real people for the last couple of months, the trio had gained much battle experience and had all achieved breakthroughs in their cultivation, along with breakthroughs of insight in the techniques.
Yu had entered the peak of Foundation building, along with his brothers. While Shu may have much more talent in terms of cultivating his technique, he still needed to pay heed to his foundations. This meant that he had to f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y suppress his breakthroughs to stop his foundations. This of course would be terrible and would set Shu back a few months.
A few months is something the group did not have. They needed to find Simon so that he could teach them the proper way to break through. Without their teacher, they doubted themselves heavily, unsure of the safety of progressing to the next stage. Each brother naturally began to shift from cultivation to combat, using their time to refine themselves against real enemies.
As such, The brothers had managed to amass enough gold coins to expand their house into a two story building. They also managed to install toilets, bathrooms, entertainment systems, and a kitchen. Each time they moved, they would store away everything in their spatial storage. Their golden house slowly became just like any other home away from home.
As for their quest to find Simon, they came pretty close. They found the Divine Tempest Sect, but ruled it out because It seemed too secluded. Their master would naturally be overbearing and be part of a sect that spans a million square kilometres. Such a secluded sect could not possibly hold their prideful and supreme master. That would be an insult, they thought.
So as they strolled through the forest, they completely overlooked Simon's location and went forwards. This of course meant more bandits for them to fight and more gold to build their house.
The first thing he did upon leaving his room was eat a large meal. Since he hadn't eaten in half a month, he naturally felt the common need of animals. Although he was a powerful cultivator, he had not yet reached the point of becoming an Immortal and not requiring food. That would still be a long way away.
If he wanted to become an Immortal, he still needed to train for another month. Assuming he could cultivate in peace and receive no disturbances, all would be fine. However, he knew that it would not be the case. He now had duties to attend to and disciples to train, if he could not even do that, he wouldn't be qualified to be an elder.
This made Simon feel very annoyed.
'How am I supposed to reach the Immortal stage if I have to train a bunch of useless people for hours on end? Most of them rely on pills to breakthrough, making them weaker in the long term and much less able to break through in the future. Instead of this, I could be training every day and breaking through at high speeds. However, I am stuck teaching these people how to fight and cultivate properly. Why does this sect recruit people with meh aptitude? Is this a strength in numbers thing? I would understand if they all worked hard, but these guys seem lazy.' Simon recalled a moment when he looked out of the mansion balcony and witnessed a few sect disciples picking their noses and sleeping on the middle of a road.
'My time should be put to better use.'
"Meow…" Kitty looked at Simon and placed his paw on his annoyed master.
"Ah yes… Have some more fish, you deserve it for not disturbing me during my cultivation. I will make sure to purchase more varieties of fish later on. At least you won't annoy me." Simon patted Kitty on the head and warmly smiled.
"Make sure to train still. I don't have a weak cat."
"Meow~" Kitty grabbed a chair and made a bull-fighting stance with it, showing off his obvious fighting prowess.
"Wow, that is very cool. Now get back to work." Simon felt disinterested and waved Kitty off.
"Meow!" Kitty saluted and went to his own room to cultivate.
"Now then, I wonder how Blue is doing…"
Simon pondered and remembered that Blue should be done by today.
"AAAARGHH!!!" A demonic sect warrior screamed in agony and fright as he was ruthlessly gunned down by a stream of endless bullets.
A trench stood between an army of Divine Tempest Sect forces and the demonic sect. Within the trenches were demonic sect warriors and elders. All of them took cover in this terribly built trench for one reason only.
"LMG MOUNTED AND LOADED!!!"
RATATATATATATA
Blue had embraced the way of the M249, abusing its high ammo capacity to shoot endlessly at the enemy fortifications, essentially suppressing the entire opposing force with just herself.
The Divine Tempest Sect soldiers could only watch and occasionally move in to take enemy strategic points when Blue finished overpowering them. It was like a one-sided bloodbath, with Blue being the butcher and the demonic sect being a prime meat cut.
"FEEL MY ENDLESS STREAM OF PAIN!!!" Blue roared as she sprayed the trenches with more bullets.
"POP YOUR HEADS OUT! I DARE YOU!"
Suddenly, a demonic sect elder popped his head out, completely resolved to just end it there. It was much better to die earlier rather than suffer the anxiety and constant fear before succ.u.mbing to a painful death. The elder would rather just die from a bullet to the skull
PUCHI
A bullet pierced his skull and cause it to explode.
"HEADSHOT!"
Now, the demonic sect's were being hunted. Rather than being the predators, they became the prey. In the eyes of the Divine Tempest Sect, these people that sacrificed other people to demons had no rights to live. All of them must die for offending the Divine Tempest Sect. Only then can the forest return to peace.
"COMMANDER!!! IT'S SO LOUD! WHAT DO WE DO!? SHOULD WE ATTACK?!" A demonic sect soldier asked at the top of their lungs.
"LAUNCH A FULL SCALE CHARGE!! THEY CANNOT KILL US ALL IF WE ALL RUSH FORWARD AND TRY TO OVERWHELM THEM! CHARGE!!!" The elder drew their lever action shotgun and ran onto the no man's land, followed by a huge army of demonic sect soldiers.
"IS THIS LAWNMOWER SIMULATOR?!"
RATATATATATA
The hum of the LMG echoed throughout the forest as another demonic sect perished.
