Chapter 68: Boss (9)

Luke noticed the surprise in the eyes of the monster. Luke used Stinger level four, so the power and the speed of the attack were at the max. The big wasp didn't have time to react. Luke's fire claymore pierced the monster's chest and made it burn… but only a few centimeters of the blade actually pierced it.

The wasp trembled slightly upon receiving damage that decreased its health by one hundred points, but it quickly summoned Ice Arrows above Luke and tried to fill him with holes. Luke pulled back his sword and kicked the monster to escape, but even while he was falling, he didn't take his eyes from the massive beast.

"That caused a lot of damage, even though the sword didn't pierce deeply," Luke thought while he was landing and then began to run to gain some distance. "Rina was right… This monster is weak against physical attacks."

Even if it was massive, the monster still was a Frozen Wasp. It should have the same weakness as the ordinary ones… Nevertheless, the wound that Luke opened closed in no time, so he will have to start from scratch again. He had two options, either deliver a critical hit with all his might or attack several times the same spot in the blink of an eye. For either option to be available, Luke had to get rid of the small fries first. Shalia was working on that, but at least half of the enemies were still alive. 

"Shalia…" Luke said when he noticed some blue potions on the ground. "Don't hold back, use as much mana as you can."

"Hehe, that is what I wanted to hear," Shalia said and then smirked.

Shalia began to drain Luke's mana a lot faster than before while he began to drink the ones he had gotten earlier. Thanks to that, Shalia's power increased, and her Fireballs began to melt the heads of the Frozen Wasps. Upon seeing their allies being mercilessly beaten, the massive one began to tremble in rage, and for the first time, it flew toward Luke while pointing its Sting toward him.

Luke felt shivers when he saw that massive spear flying toward him so fast, but Luke dodged the attack by using Stinger to the side. The giant wasp only stopped after hitting a power pole. The sting didn't suffer any damage and completely destroyed the thick power pole… Still, Luke didn't let that faze him, so he attacked the backside of the wings with numerous nails. Even without turning around, the beast could imagine where Luke was, and so it fired dozens of Ice Arrows toward him, forcing him to run without giving him the chance to attack. Still, Luke used that chance to grab some potions from the ground.

Shalia was working phenomenally well since she alone made Luke level up. Thanks to that, Rina was pouting a little. Unfortunately, Luke didn't have time to console her. The massive wasp began to use Frozen Whisper, and the entire city began to feel like the North pole. The ground began to freeze, and Luke's legs were trembling like leaves.

"You have to kill that monster now… you won't last more than twenty seconds if things continue like this," Rina said.

Luke could tell since he was losing more than ten health points per second. However, the only way to stop the monster was by getting closer, which would only increase Frozen Whisper's power. Still, Luke didn't have any other option, and since the monster had to stop moving to use such an area of effect attack, it wasn't impossible to kill it. However, as if they were reading his mind, the surviving wasps put themselves between Luke and the big monster. Naturally, they weren't suffering any damage.

"Shalia, open a path with a single strike," Luke said. "Rina, buff my strength to the limits in a single moment."

Those two nodded when they heard Luke's words, and soon he began to drink some potions giving them the chance to drain his energy. Luke took a deep breath and prepared to dash. Even though he soon lost the feeling of his legs, he ran toward the enemy with all his might.

Shalia fired a massive fire spear toward the enemies ahead and turned them into charcoal instantly, but while she aimed and tried to hit the big wasp, the attack soon was dissipated due to the strong and cold winds. She clicked her tongue in annoyance, but she succeeded on her mission.

Luke jumped toward the enemy and then used Stinger level four. At the same time, Rina buffed his strength, and thanks to it, Luke moved toward the enemy even fast than usual. However, the cold winds froze Luke's entire body and prevented him from reaching the monster. When Luke was about to lose consciousness, he used Stinger again, and again, and again. He could use Stinger level four exactly four times with all his SP. Thanks to the boost in the movement of each skill, Luke eventually pierced the monster's chest and completely passed through it.

Due to the momentum of the skill, Luke flew for a few extra meters after killing the gigantic beast, but he flew while completely covered in ice. If it weren't for the level-ups that restored his health, he would have landed and cracked like a statue. Fortunately, the ice disappeared before he landed... he almost had a heart attack while he was landing. While he almost had lost his consciousness, he still was wide awake even after a while since his HP didn't drop instantly. Nevertheless, he won...
