Chapter 135: Choice (3)

The monster tried to free itself and some cracks already appeared in the ice, Luke didn't give him time to try again and used Stinger on his face. The creature grabbed the sword with the palms of both hands, but then Luke used Sonic Blade. The creature grunted in pain since Luke's strength had increased considerably due to the boost of Rina's power. His hands began to bleed, but he didn't have time to rest. The boomerangs flew toward his neck again and the monster dropped its stance to dodge them, but the monster didn't notice that Rina had thrown the third one this time and while flying from above, he hit the back of the monster, opening a pretty big wound.

While the enemy was grunting in pain, Luke tried to attack again and while the monster hesitated in using hands, it still blocked the attack using the exterior part of its gloves. Luke changed his Posture as well and fired a Spark Ball on the monster's face. It only lasted for a moment, but the enemy was paralyzed long enough for to Rina toss the boomerangs and hit the neck of the creature… even though that area didn't have much muscle, it still didn't pierce deeply.

The eyes of the monster got even more vicious and he tried to grab Luke's heck, but Luke stepped backward and dodged the strike. That made the monster crack even more the ice beneath its feet… even though Shalia was repairing it, it wouldn't last long. In the end, Luke used Water Cannon to cool down the monster's head, and as soon as it was drenched, he used Lightning.

A lot of steam began to leave the monster's body, still, despite that combination, the monster only stayed paralyzed for two seconds. It was just enough time for Luke to use Stinger while aiming at the head of the monster, and while he hit one of the eyes, it didn't pierce that much. In the end, the monster put the sword away and then punched Luke in the stomach. 

Luke felt the air leaving his lungs while he rolled on the ground, but unlike before, he didn't fly for dozens of meters, he just rolled on the ground for a few… Rina probably increased his endurance at the last moment. When Luke got up, he saw the monster freeing itself from the ice, but the same time, the boomerangs hit his neck on the same spot as before and increased the size of the wound… A lot of blood was flowing, even though the wound didn't reach the artery.

The monster was suffering damage… it could be killed, but Luke had to hurry up because it was impossible to tell when Rina and Shalia would keep that form. Billy and the cloaked figure were moving away, but the enemy was completely focused on Luke's group. The enemy charged at Luke again, but before he could gain momentum, Luke used Stinger to attack. The beast was forced to slow down and raise its arms to repel the attack, but while that worked, it also gave Luke the chance to change the position of his sword and then fire Sonic Blade at the monster's face.

Even though Luke aimed at the head, the monster moved its head and made its left side get hit. Still, the power of the attack had been enough to pierce the whole cheek. Almost at the same time, a boomerang flew and got stuck between the wound and the teeth of the monster.

"Now, Luke!" Rina said.

Now what? That was what Luke wanted to ask, but by acting by instinct, he reacted fast enough and fired several Spark Balls toward the boomerangs. Before the monster could take it away, the electric torrent shocked the interior of the monster, causing almost the same amount of damage as Lightning. Instead of steam, smoke began to escape from the body of the monster, but eventually, Luke ran our mana… it was because Amanda was holding back the other monsters.

Eventually, the monster pulled away from the boomerang and threw it to the distance… he sure looked angry. The monster was clenching its teeth to the point where they were even cracking. The damage was piling up, in any case, the group needed something else… Although the monster probably could stay there for twenty-five more minutes, they couldn't win just by waiting… Luke needed a powerful trick to finish off the enemy, while he had an idea in mind, it was a bit dangerous and the chances of failing were pretty high.

"I suppose it can't be helped…" Luke said. "Help me succeed on a big attack, guys."

"I will use all my mana to stop that thing for a few seconds," Shalia said.

"I will boost your strength to the limit," Rina said. "Our mana is ending, so this will be the last thing we will be able to do before returning to the small size."

The risks increased once again… but there was no other option. It was do or die, like usual. When the monster dashed toward Luke, its figure blurred due to the sheer speed, but despite that, Shalia still covered half of his body in ice and stopped the creature completely. In the next moment, Rina boosted Luke's strength and then he used Stinger followed by Sonic Blade. However, the monster had been waiting for that and despite suffering some damage, it protected its head from the attacks. In the next moment, Luke used Weapon Augmentation level four with his sword. Much to his surprise, the sword began to spin violently and he didn't have the chance to let it go. He spun vertically alongside his weapon while it pierced the monster's arms like a drill. That lasted for ten seconds…

When the effect ended, the sword broke and Luke fell on the ground unable to withstand due to the terrible dizziness. It surprised him that he didn't throw up… still, when he recovered, he was left speechless.
