On the second attempt and third attempt, they defeated the army. Still, then one high leveled goblin showed up and decimated the frontline. Richter barely escaped with his life in those two times, and he stayed unconscious for four and two days after each defeat. According to him, the monster was at level three hundred… and it certainly was a crystal overlord.
Luke wondered if that was the case… at first, he thought that the enemy was just a high-level underling. However, Luke considered certain things. In this crazy galactic war between monsters and humans, it was hard to believe that half of them were winning, only a small part was supposed to be winning, and the losers were losing their home planets and trying to create new forces and strengthen themselves in other places… in other worlds. They either were creating an environment where their powers were enhanced to prevent any more losses, or they truly wanted to make the humans feel the same way they felt when they lost their home planets.
"I take this goblin only shows up when a large number of people try to leave the city," Luke said.
"That is right," Rachel said. "He probably doesn't want word to spread about their base around the world."
"They didn't know that we can communicate over long distances without magic… still, you kept this whole situation hidden from my father," Luke crossed his arms and then frowned.
"I assumed it would be hard to believe that there is an ice castle above New York now," Rachel said.
"I don't buy that… but either way, my job is to take your people out of here. If my father and his allies will accept you after knowing that you kept important things from them, that is another matter," Luke said.
Luke began to consider his options. Fighting in the turf of an enemy that made everything to be in their favor was madness. Everything was against Luke, perhaps he could pull that off with grenades, but he didn't have more of them. In any case, it was night, so Luke had some hours to come up with a battle plan. Hopefully, Luke will find some sort of method to increase his chances of winning while checking the shop. Unfortunately… he didn't.

After checking his status, Luke confirmed that he didn't have anything in his arsenal that could take down a level three hundred monsters. Even his best sword used alongside the highest level of Weapon Augmentation didn't kill a level two hundred monsters, so he probably will only slow down the beast for a few seconds. Maybe if he uses Richter's sword… the quality of the weapon probably can affect the power when used alongside Weapon Augmentation… but he wouldn't let his best weapon on the plan that was rather dubious.
While Luke looked troubled thinking about a battle plan, the survivors looked at him with even more suspicions. He had come to help, but he didn't have a good plan to help them… and since he was taking his time, it seemed that nothing good would come out of his head. They were quite the troublesome bunch…
This time, Luke could count on some external factors like that cloaked figure helping Shalia and Rina and granting them the chance to use their real powers for a while. It was annoying to admit it, but Luke would need Richter's help. Trying to take down a monster that was at such a high level by himself wasn't possible… even with a good plan. A single mistake would be enough to end his life.
"Can your people fight the goblins' army?" Luke asked when the sun was starting to set.
"We can… defeating them is most likely impossible, though," Rachel replied while frowning. "We have only fifty people that can win against them in a one-on-one fight."
The fact that the survivors also had few items was a problem… Rachel and Richter monopolized the experience, gold coins, and loot, and even though he shared them with the others, at least the loot, it wasn't enough. Luke couldn't afford to take down the small fries and fight the big boss at the same time, so he had to find a solution to that problem. He found one when he recalled the skeletons.
"We will divide the groups into those that can fight and those who don't. Those who can fight will leave today with us and then kill some goblins, get enough coins to buy Electric Arrow and some potions," Luke explained. "The backline still stops the enemies with those attacks, even if they don't have high magic. The effect of the spell should give enough time for the front line to attack and finish some of the enemies off. Once they do that, they will retreat and give a chance to the backline attack again."
It was a pretty simple plan, but Rachel wondered if it was enough. Some of them left to hunt pretty often, but they never took the weakest ones with them… she realized that was probably why so few of them could be useful in battle.. In any case, they had to at least try and see if it can work."
