"This place is so boring…" Danielle said on her third day in the elves' world.
"I thought you wanted to come to help your big bro, but I can see that you wanted to have a good time fighting," Luke said. "What a troublesome kid."
Although Luke said that, he felt the same way two days ago. A lot faster than Danielle… in any case, it was probably because they got used to fighting a lot in a short amount of time. Luke wondered if soldiers after war felt the same way. The normal thing to do would be too long for the peaceful days, but one needs to strengthen their mind and spirit in order to endure the hardships of war… otherwise, their psyche won't last. Maybe it was because of that that the dark elves were like that… Overly suspicious of others, even of their own species. That showed him how things would be difficult in their world…
In any case, after those three days, all the bows were ready, and all the archers who would use them had been chosen. Amanda and Celia also use bows, so they got one each as well. With an army of one hundred soldiers armed with such powerful bows, they probably could take down a small fries army rather fast under the right conditions.
"I guess we will need a test run… it will be hard to find the perfect place for one, though," Luke muttered and then raised his voice. "Hey, you! I want all of you practicing with those bows everyday until your hands start to bleed! Those who fail to achieve that, will lose their positions!"
The elves suddenly frowned when they heard that. It has been a while since Luke talked with them harshly like that, after all. He had been pretty calm lately, and during the last fights, they saw how he never let anything happen to Rina, so their respect for him grew a lot. Still, it seemed that he was about to lose that again.
"What is with you so suddenly?" Rina asked;
"We will need them to improve faster, just having some talent isn't enough," Luke replied. "We won't be able to find a place to train one hundred archers, so they will have their first experience fighting with those bows when we try to get the mobile fortress."
"Can't you try to make them improve without being so rude?" Rina said. "And they were starting to like you too…"
"Who cares about that, we need to make them become strong physically and mentally in order to prevent further losses in the next battles," Luke said. "You said that your elves don't reproduce that fast, right? So, we can't afford to let their numbers fall even further. Some crystal owners will keep attacking this place and the overlords will return if you show any sign of weakness, after all."
Rina was aware of that, so it couldn't be helped that Luke was being harsh. Still, she wanted him to be respected by her people as well, but since the elves were peaceful people, that kind of way was counterproductive. Aside from their royal family, they pretty much didn't have any hierarchy between them. Not even Rina and her parents wanted to be put on a pedestal.
Nevertheless, those one hundred archers began to practice even more seriously than before. While they didn't reach the point where their hands started to bleed, little by little, their archery skills began to improve. Even if little by little…
On the seventh day after Richter's departure, Luke began to worry that something must have happened. He had used Checkpoint at the entrance of that base, and he didn't use it a single time. That skill could create more than one according to its level, so Richter's actions didn't make any sense, even if he was saving mana. As if that wasn't troublesome enough, he didn't have an elf as his partner, so he couldn't return to Earth either to take a break. On the other hand, Tame finally leveled up. So, Luke had the chance to tame one of the frozen wasps in the north and then bring it home to sacrifice it while no one was nearby. The very moment he thought of that and used the crystal, something unexpected happened.
You lost a follower.
You now can summon Frozen Wasp Lv 100
The crystal now will obtain one point of mana per second due to the frozen wasp spirit.
Luke probably could tame another creature if he lost that species since the slot was free again. However, the issue was the fact that the wasp was at level 180… so why could he only summon one at level hundred? Luke decided to check several things, but first, he checked the red crystal menu.
Expansion Lv 01: 1.000.000 mana points.
Mana Shield Lv 01: 2.000.000
Summoning Lv 01: Frozen Wasp Lv 100(100.000 MP)
Movement Speed Lv 01: 3.000.000
Search Range Lv 01: 3.000.000
Teleportation Lv 01: 5.000.000
Current Mana: 1.259.454
Luke already could summon a level one hundred frozen wasps, and while the cost seemed a bit too high, he decided to check it. A new monster appeared after the red crystal shone for a short while. Still, Luke didn't get any notification about getting a new follower. He probably won't get any experience or coins if that creature defeats anything. Nevertheless, Luke sacrificed that wasp as well.
You now can summon Frozen Wasp Lv 101
The crystal now will obtain an extra one point of mana per second due to the frozen wasp spirit.
It was weird. Luke couldn't understand the logic at all. When he tamed and sacrificed another level 180 wasp, the level didn't even increase… still, the mana that the red crystal could recover had.
"Well, let's not sweat the small stuff, is not like I want to create an army of monsters right now," Luke said.
