Chapter 99 - The Music they Both Sang

"You are my spring, such a blooming chrysanthemum,

You are my spring, my full petal bloom.

You are my spring, there is no winter any more

There will be sunshine, you won't be cold anymore."

"You are my spring… sunshine in the meadows

Pale lilies amongst the flowers…

The white snow is now melting to the greens…

You are my spring, blooming as you've ever been."

Jonathan smiled, just the littlest curve on his lip. The moon was as its full peak, and firefly in a jar was just another light that sufficed along with the moonlight.

"Your voice is so… angelic, Jonth," A girl with bright, green eyes had said. She looked fair and vibrant, her red hair was almost orange in the color of the moonlight. "You sang my song better than I did."

"Did I?" Jonathan asks, preventing himself to smile.

"You wanna laugh?" Eulalia exclaims, pouting. "Go laugh. Hope you choke on it."

Jonathan chuckled. "I like the song." He smiles. "It's like a children's rhyme."

"What? What children's rhyme? I wasn't making a lullaby, y'know!"

"I know you weren't making one, Eul," Jonathan exclaims, and then sat to the piano stool. "I sang it to take a better grasp of how we should time it to the music. I also fixed the notes that weren't right."

"Notes that weren't right?" Eula examined the music sheet. "Where? I revised this for like… fifty times, you know!"

"There were various off-notes that didn't fit the music. I fixed it."

"There're no erasures here. What did you fix?" Eulalia asks, confused.

"I fixed it, believe me," Jonathan says. "Inside my head."

"Ooohhhh, is that so?" Eulalia rolled her eyes. "Your arrogance pisses me off, what the hell are you talking about you fixed it in your head, dumbass!"

Jonathan grinned, as he started to play in the piano.

"Hey, I have the copy. How are you going to…" Eulalia stopped as Jonathan played the notes, exactly as she has written them, with his improvisation.

Jonathan smiled. "Thank you."

Eulalia sat beside him. "Let's sing again."

"Let's?" Jonathan tilted his head. "I thought you don't want to sing?"

Eulalia smiled warmly. "Seeing you sing my song made me happy. I guess it won't hurt to give it a shot? Except, we'll sing together, okay?"

Jonathan blinked, but then his expression eased as he smiled. "Okay…"
