"Mommy, can we come to see grandma tomorrow?" Nadia excitedly asked on the way home. Her eyes glinted a hint of expectation.

"Yeah." Seeing the anticipation in her daughter's eyes, Nancy couldn't help rubbing her head dotingly.

Perhaps it was a good day or Nadia's bright smile, but in whichever case, Nancy didn't sense any bad premonition. Everything was sailing smoothly, and she hoped it could last long.

Meanwhile, back in the Ning household...

Fannie burst into fiendish laughter while looking at the photo of Charles with Dorothy.

"Dad, look at your doting daughter. Her dream of marrying a rich man is finally shattered! How could she even dream of becoming a beautiful swan?"

"Fannie, I think it's time we get Jade's shares back. We wouldn't know what's gonna happen," Jill suggested, ignoring the bright mood of her daughter.

"Don't worry. Things haven't been cleared yet. We don't have to act rashly. Although Nancy is softhearted, she won't let you go if you mess with her. And if that happens, we're not gonna get anything at all." Although he stammered, Clark was still able to get his point across.

"Dad, until when are you going to defend her? You know the incident about Nadia. In the end she didn't do anything to me. Besides, Charles left her! She'll never amount to his childhood sweetheart," Fannie scorned, showing her phone to her father to prove her words.

"What should we do?"

mentioned the shares, she already had a hunch that it had something to with Jill and Fannie.

'Those two greedy witches! They are just too desperate, aren't they?!' she cursed silently.

As she thought of her evil stepsister and her conniving mother, Nancy almost called Charles several times. But every time she thought of it, she struggled hard to refrain herself from doing so.

'This does not concern him at all.

Besides, he's probably with Dorothy right now doing God-knows-what.'

Those thoughts lingered on her head, eating her every time she let herself dwell into them.

The more Nancy thought about it, the more perplexed she became. Instead, she put the phone into the hamper and decided to look in the sanatorium first.

When she arrived, she was greeted by the utter desperation painted on her mother's face. She not only looked frantic, but weaker and paler at the same time too.

"They did what?!" Nancy choked down her anger and asked.

"It's them, Nancy. I'm sorry. I failed to keep the shares for you. I'm such a useless mother!" Jade blamed herself, pulling her hair aggressively as if she was going crazy any moment now.

"Mom, I'm not blaming you. Those are just some useless shares. I don't care about them. It's all right. Don't worry!" Nancy hugged her mother lovingly while spatting those comforting words. However, at the back of her mind, she was already cursing Fannie and Jill.
