The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. It was so frustrating that she couldn't shut the thought off her head. To let it all out, she threw the phone away and closed her eyes to sleep.

While lost in her dreams, she was pulled back to reality when her phone rang suddenly.

The next thing she knew was she was already sitting on her bed wondering who could be calling her so late at night. Who else could it be except for Charles?

At the thought of him, Nancy's mood lightened, and she was happy in a snap.

Excited to answer the call, she hurriedly took the phone.

However, to her dismay Doris' name appeared on her phone. It wasn't Charles after all and that disappointed Nancy.

While she was holding her phone and staring at the blinking screen, Nancy was speechless. Doris was supposed to be asleep by this time. She was pregnant and staying up this late wasn't good for the baby.

Why would she call in such an unusual time? What could be wrong? Was she bored and just wanted to talk to someone? As she was confused at the unexpected call, Nancy's head was occupied by questions.

At that one instance, when she told Doris that she could talk to her anytime, it was just superficial. She merely said that to make her feel good. As a thoughtful friend, Nancy, didn't expect that Doris would take it seriously and wanted to chat with her so late.

It all made sense to Nancy as Doris was a woman full of insecurities. Whenever she had a bad mood, she felt that everyone would leave her.

Considering how odd she was as a person, Nancy thought that Doris was way t

wait, not even a minute. Jay is driving me nuts. I just want to know the truth as soon as possible. I guess I have to do that myself. I'll find him."

Hearing the rustling sounds from the other end, Nancy knew that Doris got out of bed.

"Doris, what do you think are you doing? It's late, and it's not safe. Where are you going to find him?" asked Nancy. "If something bad happens, it's not worth it. Can you just have a good rest and wait?" she continued.

"No, I'm going to look for him right now. If you can ignore what Charles has done, I can't do the same for what Jay has done. Go to sleep. I'll find my husband myself. Anyways, I can't fall asleep at home, better yet make use of my time," responded Doris.

"Where are you going? What if you can't find him?" asked Nancy while quickly putting on her clothes and shoes.

"There are only a few famous bars and nightclubs. I'll check each one and I believe I can find them there," responded Doris confidently.

Realizing that she couldn't change her mind, Nancy reckoned in a hurry, "Sounds like a good plan, Doris. I'll go with you. Wait for me. I'll just drive and pick you up."

The worried friend that was Nancy let out a sigh. She was left with no choice. Aside from Doris' stubbornness, she was also pregnant. Nancy couldn't let her go out on her own.

"Thank goodness. I knew I can rely on you. You're my best friend. I knew you would go with me. I'll wait for you. Hurry up."

"Okay, put on more clothes. It's cold and I don't want you to be sick. You have to take care of yourself for the baby," said Nancy full of concern.
