"Honey, we just need to find Laura as soon as possible and get back the one million, right?" asked Jay, cocking his head slightly to the right.

"That's right. So hurry up! I feel like I’m gonna have a heart attack whenever I think of that one million dollars. Damn it! How dare she lie to me! Catch her and see how I'll punish her!" Doris gnashed her teeth in seething hatred and fury. Her fists clenched into tight grips that almost left nail marks on her palm.

"Don't you think it's your fault?" Although he was so sure that would spike Doris’ anger, Jay gambled and took the opportunity to teach her a lesson.

If he was to let this slide unnoticed, the silly woman might stir trouble for him in the future.

"I know I am wrong, okay? No need to rub it in my face."

"So, will you do that again?"

This time, humiliation hovered over Doris, who shook her head and muttered, "No."

As her lips curled into a pout, Jay couldn’t help flashing a smug smile at how cute his wife was. It was not every day that this feisty woman was reprimanded like a child, but this one was one for the books.

"Baby, be good with mommy, okay? Don't let her think too much." He bent down and planted a soft kiss on her belly.

"What are you doing? You know the baby won't respond to that."

"I know, but I can’t help it," Jay replied, landing a kis

"Yes, Director Nancy was not here yesterday, Anna was fired, and on top of that, you were not here too, so only a few new doctors were able to man the Pediatric Department. The whole department is buzzing with so much work right now. So if you feel better, go to work as soon as possible!" Hobart said earnestly, now flashing a half-smile on his lips.

"Okay, President Hobart. I will go to work now!" Jessie fled from her bed and refreshed herself at once. In fact, she was not sick at all. Everything that happened was just mentally draining, and she needed a break from all of that. But now that the knot in her heart had been untied, she was more than ecstatic to put on her scrubs and work again.

"That's good. Nancy has gone to the outpatient department, so go and make the rounds!" Hobart uttered, much like giving Jessie her very first task again.

"Okay, got it!" The overtly excited Jessie even saluted at her boss, making the latter snort a chuckle.

"That's good! If you had thought of it that way sooner, you wouldn't have had so much trouble," Hobart said before walking out.

Then, as soon as she was left alone, Jessie immediately put on her working clothes and shoes and rushed to meet Nancy.
