Although the air condition wrapped the inside of the car with cold air, Charles could still feel the heat of his anger rising. He leaned back his head and rubbed his temple while making sense of the picture he just saw.

Even he could not rationalize the strange feeling that hovered his thoughts. How could such an online post send him in utter distraught so easily?

"Hurry up!" he commanded in a thunderous voice, tapping his palm on the dashboard.

"But I’d be going over the speed limit, Mr. Fu!" Although Hiram could see the anxiety eating up his boss, he couldn’t risk driving beyond the speed limit; otherwise, the police might run after them.

So at this point, Hiram was faced with a dilemma.

If he were to race on the road, he’d be risking to lose his license. But at the same time, he’d be losing his job if he were to go against Charles’ command.

Lucky for Hiram, Charles eventually realized that the former was right. So, he closed his eyes and breathed a deep, heavy sigh to relax his rage.

He just wanted to reach the hospital as soon as possible and check on Nancy. The thought of her and Edward spending such sweet time together wrecked all the remaining sanity in his head. In fact, recalling how he held her in his arms almost made Charles raise hell back in his office had he not calmed himself.

At this moment, the gynecologist performed a general check-up on Nancy, which reported a tear on her lower part that caused a little bleeding.

Outside was Edward, who leaned against the wall with his arms crossed against his chest while waiting for the result.

Suddenly, the door pushed open

ace contorted into a frown to showcase how unhappy he was.

"Edward, thank you for taking me to the hospital. I really owe you, but I have to go back now. Let's meet again when we have time."

"Nancy, I have reminded you several times to let me know if a guy is hurting you." A mixture of worry and confusion was painted on Edward’s face.

He didn't know what happened to her, but his guts told him this woman didn't live a good life. Otherwise, why would she let people, especially this man, hurt her at his will? She didn’t deserve it!

"I will protect her with my life, so go and mind your own business. She doesn't need you to worry about her!" Out of jealousy, Charles brushed off Edward’s arm that held Nancy.

He clearly saw how the latter looked at her with a pair of loving eyes, and God knew he hated it.

He couldn’t stand the idea of other men fantasizing about Nancy!

Charles would never allow them anywhere near her! She was his territory, and he had clearly marked that border long ago.

"You are so overbearing! What kind of a man are you? You don’t deserve her. The next time you make her cry again, I'm telling you I’d be the first one to steal Nancy away from you!" Edward promised, finally setting Nancy free from his grip.

"You won't stand a chance!" After spitting those words, Charles scooped Nancy up and walked out of the ward with Hiram behind him.

Meanwhile, Edward was left in utter disdain and could only watch them as he tightly clenched his fist in seething anger. "It's too early to say that. We won't know who will win until the last moment!" he muttered with utmost conviction.
