Derrick cherished his comfort and life above all else. He would never put his life in jeopardy for the TS Group.
But it was hard to tell how badly he was injured this time.
Just then, Charles's phone rang.
The call was from Frederic.
"How did grandpa hear of the news so soon?" Charles asked with a frown. He didn't want to enrage his grandpa for fear of aggravating his heart condition. Frederic would usually read financial newspapers in the early morning, so since when had it been a habit of him to browse mobile news?
Charles hastily got out of bed, his annoyance apparently visible. "Nancy, you should go downstairs to have breakfast with Bobby."
Grandpa must have called at this very moment just to scold him. It was better not to let the children hear such a fierce conversation between them.
"Okay." Nancy straightened her clothes and quietly walked out of the room, hand in hand with Bobby.
Charles answered the phone calmly. "Grandpa."
"Charles, what have you done to Derrick? I know you hate him, but nevertheless, he is still your uncle. How can you kill him without any regards to his life?" Frederic bellowed furiously before Charles could speak.
It was a fact that every parent loved their children, and Freder
lone, the full responsibility would be pinned on him.
What stunned him even more was that after the police came to check the identity of the people in the other car, they told him that the owner of the car was Derrick.
Till now, Hiram was still dazed and in a state of shock.
Why did the car stall unexpectedly?
This was too mysterious and bizarre. He had never heard of a similar instance happening in the past.
More coincidentally, his car was rear-ended by Derrick's. But seeing the tragic outcome of the accident, he couldn't be one hundred percent sure whether Derrick did it on purpose or not.
Since this was a matter involving life and death, he wouldn't dare risk his life, would he?
"Don't be nervous. We'll find out the truth soon enough. Are you hurt?" Charles comforted Hiram as he patted him on the shoulder.
All the while, Hiram was still in shock and he wasn't aware of his injury at all and didn't feel any pain. He didn't realize that his arm injured until he was patted by Charles.
"Ouch, it hurts..." He let out a cry.
"You are hurt?" Charles nervously probed.
He knew Hiram would never do anything against his will. More so, why would he take the initiative to provoke Derrick at such a critical moment?
