"Mom, I'm home!"
The trio's returning trip to Phoenix City spent almost a day because a certain white bunny kept pestering Feng Xue to take the scenic route along the way.
Feng Xue initially a bit reluctant to accept Rong Hua's request but immediately change her mind when Rong Hua whispered to her, "Isn't it nice to have a flying date with Snowy?"
They eventually visited almost all the popular places in the Central area and finished with watching the sunset together at Remembrance Hill, which was one of the top spots on the must-visit list for Dao Companion couple.
"Little Xue, Little Snowy, I'm glad you two are fine!"
The trio heard a rushing footstep approaching them while a sonorous yet pleasant-sounding voice came from the mansion.
Madam Feng gave them a big hug at the first sight of their figure.
"Welcome home…"
"I'm back, mom…."
"Aunt Feng, I'm back…."
They stayed in each other embrace for a quite while until Madam Feng quitted her sobbing and regained her composure.
"We got the last ingredient, mom! Father will be recovering soon!"
"Really…?! Thank heaven…"
"Where's Master? Hasn't he come back yet?"
Feng Xue had scanned the whole mansion to find Elder Yang, but there was no sign of him at all.
Besides the matter of her father's medication, Feng Xue was eager to impress Elder Yang with her improving cultivation. She was sure that her master would be pleased that she didn't let his expectation down.
"He had come back around a week ago but immediately set off again to pick up Grand Alchemist Chen. He said that he most likely would arrive today or tomorrow."
"Oh, okay. I hope Master will be here soon."
Madam Feng's attention was abruptly attracted by Rong Hua, who covered Snowy's head like a furry beret.
"Wow, what a cute rabbit!"
"Thank you, madam, for your compliment. You also still look young and beautiful, no wonder this petty chi- no, I mean Feng Xue was also blessed with a pretty face. Truly the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
"Eeeeh… t-this… t-this rabbit can talks?!"
Madam Feng nearly jumped in surprised when Rong Hua spoke to her.
"Mom, this is Rong Hua. She had been a great help in getting the Nine-Petal Lotus. Even though she's now a legit rabbit but she used to be a human cultivator like us. Long story short, he had been cursed by her enemies and turned into her current form," explained Feng Xue to Madam Feng as she understood why her mother showed such reaction.
"Ah! I'm sorry for your predicament Miss Rong Hua. And thank you very much for helping these two girls," Madam Feng hurriedly bowed to Rong Hua.
"It's just a small matter, Madam Feng. But, to be frank, it's a part of my deal with Snowy since she promises that she can help me lift this curse," said Rong Hua while shaking her head dismissively.
"No matter what the reason was, the fact that you help us acquiring the Nine-Petal Lotus is worthy of our sincere gratitude. We will be at your beck and call to pay this lifetime's debt," declared Madam Feng sincerely.
"No, no, you're too serious, Madam. I didn't do much. Please just consider this as me making good karma with Feng Family," Rong Hua quickly replies.
Snowy and Feng Xue's eyes blinked several times while their mouths gaped as they saw Rong Hua talked to Madam Feng with such a humble attitude.
They even suspected someone cast an illusion technique on them.
"Mom, don't be fooled by her harmless appearance and polite act. She's actually a big baddie and perverted rabbit!"
Feng Xue warned Madam Feng while glaring at Rong Hua to warn her, so she didn't have any thought for her mother. Rong Hua only sneered at her remarks,
"Hmph. The pot is calling the kettle black. I'm not the one who nearly ate an innocent girl while bathing! Talk about a lewd wolf in chick's clothing, hmph!"
"W-w-what are you talking about?!!"
"Rong Hua…"
Feng Xue and Snowy blushed so hard that their face looked like ripe tomatoes.
Feng Xue initially wanted to speak about the matter with Madam Feng in private, but because Rong Hua had already blurted it out, Feng Xue's head turned blank and stumped.
'Ufufufu… I don't expect that the happy day will come so fast. My advice seems to be fairly effective.'
In addition, Madam Feng grinned so hard while giving her a knowing look.
"So, have you done the deed?"
Madam Feng asked straight to the matter; her eyes sparkled in expectation.
"H-how… how can you be so vulgar, Mom!" Feng Xue stomped her foot, and her voice was rather loud, almost yelling.
And then, Feng Xue grabbed her mother's hand and pulled her to Madam Feng's room, "Come, we need to have a SMALL chat about strange things you taught Snowy before."
Feng Xue looked at Snowy and said, "Snowy, you can go back to our room first with Rong Hua. I still need to talk with my bothersome mother. It won't be too long."
Madam Feng just chuckled lightly and let Feng Xue dragged her as she pleased.
As her mother, how could she not know her daughter's temperament?
She was almost sure that Feng Xue's small talk was actually 10% complaining and 90% bragging.
When Feng Xue and Madam Feng finally entered the room, Rong Hua jumped down from Snowy's head and headed to exit the City Lord's Mansion.
"I want to stroll around the city for a while. You can go back to the room first," said Rong Hua.
"Is it going to be fine?"
A frown appeared on Snowy's beautiful face making anybody who saw her had an impulse to comfort her quickly.
"Who do you think I am? You don't need to worry about me," said Rong Hua.
"No, I don't worry about you. I'm worried about the fuss you are going to make."
"..."
A tick mark appeared on Rong Hua's small forehead.
'How much a troublemaker do you think I am? Don't you have trust in me even a little bit?'
Rong Hua shook her head and felt what she thought was ridiculous, not to mention Snowy, even she wouldn't necessarily put her trust in her behavior.
"Don't worry, I still have a sense of propriety and won't get into trouble that easily~"
Without waiting for Snowy's answer, Rong Hua quickly left the mansion.
Snowy could already felt a headache as she smells the upcoming problem.
'It would be fine, right?'
She decided not to think about it anymore and walked toward her room.
