10 Birth mark

Jeremy took so long ,to come down stairs,Betty went to call him twice but he didn't respond." Henrietta,go and call Jeremy to come down stairs ,if he doesn't come,you are not allowed to continue working,we will relief you of your duties and give someone who's competent." Ritah said.

"I will go right away Madam."

Henrietta went and when she knocked there was no response.She tried to push the door but it was locked from inside."Young master kindly open the door,your fiancee might misunderstand your intentions."

The door was suddenly flung open,he held Henrietta and pulled her inside the room.

"What are my intentions,Henrietta?Don't let your imagination go wild."

"Young master I understand you were to welcome her but you didn't,she has not taken supper and all this time she has been waiting for you,she will assume you are avoiding her on purpose."

"And what if I'm ignoring her on purpose?"

"Then go sit down with her and solve your differences."

"There's nothing to solve ,she is not of my type.Let us go it's getting late."

Jeremy walked down stairs with Henrietta following from behind,as soon as he sat down Henrietta took a plate to serve him."His my husband to be ,let me serve him." Betty said while taking a plate from Henrietta.

"l have lost my appetite ."Jeremy said while standing up.

"Henrietta I will be in my study room,get me a glass of warm milk after 30'minutes.Betty I'm taking this chance to call of our engagement ,don't make things difficult for your self,you and I will never be husband and wife and you know why.By tomorrow morning I don't want to see you here."

"Jeremy...what has gotten into you,is this the way people call off engagement?"Ritah shouted.

"No need,of begging him,I'm leaving this very minute." Betty said angrily.

"Oh....so you are going, to your long term sweet heart lover?"Jeremy asked.

"You two stop airing your dirty linen in public.Sit down and have a mutual discussion."Ritah advised.

"Mum if you knew what,this so called Betty did,you will skin her a life,let bygones be bygones.To try and salvage her reputation,she must not show her face before our family ever again,dad is already aware of the situation."

Betty called her chauffeur who came and picked her that very night.Meanwhile Jeremy had long gone to his study,he was reading ancient books,trying to find a solution to stop him from becoming impotent,At the moment he didn't care about getting a child, he desperately wanted to maintain his manhood,about children he would adopt.

Henrietta knocked on the study room twice with no response,she pushed the door and went inside." Young master,the milk is ready."

" Put it on the side table.Henrietta,how come you have not joined a university despite your outstanding performance?"

"I didn't manage to get a scholarship ,university school fees is quite high,I will work for a while ,after I save enough money I will start classes soonest possible."

"Can you help me, sort this files out and arrange them,accordingly.They are all well labelled on the outer cover ,so sorting them will be a piece of cake."

"Yes I can ."

Henrietta took the files and started arranging them on the shelves,for shelves which were quite high,she took a stool and stood on it after placing the file successfully,she accidentally missed a step and fell,before reaching the floor,she was caught midway by Jeremy,they stayed in that position for a while,in that instant,Jeremy saw a two star birth mark on Henrietta's right thigh,he had read some articles about the mark when he was abroad but the information was so vague in his memory.
