Chapter 177 - THE PROMISE, THE SECRET. {II}

Name:THE CEO's LOVE Author:JoannaAngel05
Three days later, Jiuwen was sitting inside the car with tinted glass watching Xueyan and her little girl. Xueyan was pushing Qingran on a swing and smiling brightly.

'Xueyan is so happy... God really has a soft spot for her. And she's well deserving of it.'

She sighed.

How stupid can I be? Jiuwen cursed at herself. 'Planning to run away, to where? To who?

The Lord must hate me now. My family is here, everyone that I love and adore. I have been running all my life, cutting ties with important people... There's no way I'm going back to the past.'

The happy smile on Xueyan's face and Qingran made her feel extreme pain.

If she hadn't done it... If she had just had a rethink. What would have been the outcome?

Will they all be happier now? Perhaps, living together as one fam...

She put her head down on the steering wheel and a tear dropped. She didn't even know she had been holding it in.

Her emotions burst open and she started crying loudly inside the car.

Jiuwen tried to stop crying but it only came more.

She had been patiently waiting for her brother to let the cat out of the bag, but he was hesitating. He was also avoiding her, he wasn't picking her call and wasn't returning home.

She had even gone to the company, and he busied himself with the designing team giving her the cold shoulder.

It only added to the pains she felt.

Will she ever be forgiven? If everyone else forgive her, will Xueyan do the same?

The imagination made her heart miss several beats.

Her mind was in a whirlwind, her head was messed up and her eyes weren't helping out.

She only stopped crying when she heard a tap at the car window, so she quickly wiped her face and wound down the glass. It was a security man.

"Sorry ma'am but you're parking wrongly." Jiuwen looked around and sighed. "I'm even parking wrongly, almost all my life have been lived wrong..."

"Ma'am, did you say something?"

"No," she tried smiling but her face was too stiff, so she ignited the car and drove out.

She had a destination, the Feng mansion.

It was afternoon, so the traffic was light and she arrived just in time.

Jiuwen entered her own room, her eyes was fixed onto the grey safe under her table. She put in the passcode, it made a beep sound before opening. Just like the safe in Riuwen's room, it had only two shelves but this time it was the opposite side and not under.

She took out all the files in there and found a green folder.

Jiuwen gaze moved from the folder in her hand to the remaining folders in the safe.

She had more than five more folders to destroy that man but only this green folder would take her from her current position to the pits of hell. But her mind was made up, and nothing will stop her.

Forty-five minutes later, Jiuwen was standing at the foot of Four wheels. Her eyes lingered on the company's name for a while before she passed through the glass windows and went straight to the elevator.

Someone else came to stand beside her as they waited for the elevator's arrival at the last floor.

Thirty seconds later, the elevator stopped and her eyes locked unto the person exiting it.

"Miss Jiu, Miss Yuxi, are you two together?" Secretary Jiang asked with a bright smile on his face.

Jiuwen eyes swiftly moved to Yuxi. Jiuwen was stunned and it made her heart waver. "Miss Yuxi, I hadn't seen you just now."

Yuxi flashed her a smile. "No way, why would I?" Jiuwen shook her head.

"Who knows?" With those two words, Yuxi was able to mess up with Jiuwen's head. "If you will excuse me," she entered the elevator and dipped her hand into her pant pockets.

The two metallic doors close and went up to the last floor.

"I thought you had been waiting for the elevator," Secretary Jiang pouted.

"No, I'll come back later." With her head bowed and her heart pounding against her ċhėst she took long strides to her car.

What is wrong with Jiuwen these days? She loved annoying him but now... She didn't even look at him.

For a reason it made his heart ache. Why was he even bothered? He held onto his aching heart and walked away.

At the last floor, Yuxi waited for Zhaolin to come out from the meeting room. The instance she saw him come she stood up and made a bow.

He nodded and told her to follow him.

Riuwen had seen her enter, and wondered what she came for. He knew too well that Yuxi wasn't whom she pretended to be. She was infact, very cunning and moved too swift for you to catch up.

Just how much does she know?

Yuxi relaxed onto the couch with her leg crossed on the other. "What do I owe this honour?"

Zhaolin settled onto the single couch, the re was some files on top of the table. He flipped through them, then opened at a place and pushed it to her.

"Why did you choose to work for him as his secretary? You had gotten a contract to be an undercover cop."

"You checked me out..." She paused, dropped the file back on the table and turned to stare at him. "Yet, you couldn't find anything on her."

Her, Xueyan. Zhaolin didn't need to be told how incompetent he has been. Nothing passed Riuwen without him noticing it but he hasn't been able to get his hands on anything concerning Xueyan.

"Doesn't that make you an incompetent lover?"

Finally, he is able to see through her. She has something against him.

"That's why I had invited you over," his fingers intertwined and he rested against the couch. "You know something I don't, I need your help."

Those eyes, those black iris... This was deeper than he thought.

She was shooting daggers at him through those black iris.

"I don't want to help, if there's nothing more, I'll like to take my leave." She stood up ready to leave.

"I want to marry your sister,"

Yuxi spun around and he could see the deep hatred in her eyes. Her temples bulged. "Make that statement again and I'll make sure you cover your face in shame."

"It must be something deeper than the eyes can see." He still looked cool. "What do you have against me?"

"Everything!" Yuxi said through gritted teeth. "I wouldn't mind if you disappeared from the face of the earth."

"Xueyan wouldn't feel the same way,"

"That is the only reason you're still allowed to live." She raised her chin at him. "You should be grateful."

His brows creased.

"That's how you're allowed to look." She spat out, spun around and exited his office.

His hands balled into fists. What is my mistake? How did I go wrong?

The door opened again and he felt a headache rising.

It was Riuwen. "Zhao,"

Zhaolin had his head bowed, it felt like his memory were jogging in-between lanes. He was missing a big part of his memory, but he just couldn't place his hand on it.

"You still haven't gotten anything?" He raised his eyes up to meet Riuwen's.

"I have," Riuwen's hand tightened around the file in his hand.

"He's too courageous, he requested to see me to say all those bullshit." Yuxi paced to and fro inside the elevator. "That son of a..." She stopped herself from completing that statement.

She then remembered she had bumped into Jiuwen, "Where did she disappear to? She needs to be around her junior brother when he receives the blow." Yuxi hissed.

Jiuwen watched Yuxi leave and took out her phone to call her brother, he still didn't want to pick her calls.

Her heart had been beating fast after she met Yuxi and it refused to calm down. She had this ominous feeling and it made her tummy churn greatly.

Why would Yuxi come to the company out of the blue?

Yuxi didn't look ordinary to her but she never paid attention to her. The Bai's looked too sweet. So that was why...

Jiuwen didn't think anything will go wrong but now she felt like she had been slacking a lot.

Maybe she had underestimated Yuxi. If not, why was her own heart beating so loud?

A sweat trickled down her face. Something is certainly wrong.

She was about to push the car door open, when she saw that familiar ghost car zooming out of the underground parking lot.

It dashed onto the road and sped away.

"There's no way..." Jiuwen's heart dropped to the pit of her stomach and she felt her heart stop.
