Chase's POV

It's been a week and some days after the event and my father haven't said anything and I've not seen Judith since then. I'm not sure if i should be happy or scared but one thing is for sure, I'll try to make Amy happy as much as i can.

She's been really hardworking and helpful. With her here work has been fun and quite fast and easy for me. She tries to maintain my schedule, call when due, handle any outer case even before i find out and what's more amazing? She makes me breakfast, always.

We go out for lunch together and the maids handle dinner. She's really amazing, she takes care of me both at home and at work.

And these days I've been eager to eat with her, see her and talk to her. I just feel relaxed and happy spending time with her.

And i think I'm growing to like her. Although i know nothing real will ever happen since this isn't even a real marriage in the first place.

I exhale as the thoughts run through my mind. Shortly my phone began to ring, picking it and the called ID was Judith.

Great, I just think about her and she's calling. Very great!

I answer

"Hello" relaxing my back on my chair, waiting to hear what she has to say.

"Hey handsome" she replied and that caused me to roll my eyes

"What do you want?" I asked harshly.

"Why that tone with me?" She asked, pretending as if she didn't know why.

"I know you told my Dad about Amaya, I don't know how you found out about anything but I know you did" I confronted her quick.

She exhales.

"That's why I called you Chase, we need to talk and I have to clear things up for you. Its not what you think" she replies, her tone changing and regret coming out of it.

I didn't say anything. I'm not buying this.

"Please Chase, let's meet and I'll explain everything" she pleaded and this time I just exhaled. "Okay, where?" I asked.

**********

I didn't know where I'd tell Amy I was going. She's my PA and she tends to know about all my business meetings, and of course I couldn't just tell her I was going to see Judith.

I walk out of my office and into hers but she was absent. I came out and met Judy, greeting her, I asked after Amy and it happens that she went for some printing work downstairs.

Thanking God, I rushed over to the elevator and down.

There was no Amy in sight so I just walk out but immediately I got to the printing press, I hear chuckles and it sounded exactly like Amy's. I walked gently, to take a look and I saw her laughing at whatever it is this guy was saying.

I don't even remember employing him or see him working around.

I clenched my fingers for reasons I'm not sure of.

Was I jealous?

Why isn't she working, but here laughing at some stupid jokes. I didn't want to cause a scene so I just grunted and left angrily.

Got inside my car and drove to the hotel I was supposed to meet Judith.

I know I shouldn't meet her in a place like that but she insisted and said she didn't wanted to create attention.

This better be good.

••••••••••••••••

Amaya's POV

I kept laughing so hard, I hope I'm not beginning to draw some attentions.

Mike is a very funny person, we became close and he's the only friend I have at work.

He found out I was married to Chase and didn't take it too personal.

Yes, I noticed his looks but it doesn't have any effect on me the way it does with Chase.

Happened his Mom is from London, so he kinda have this sweet British accent and he's making it sound funny when he speaks that way jokingly.

He's the one in charge of the printing work here so he makes it easy for me when I have piles of work, he assists me.

Its been almost two weeks after the event, and everything has been more than fine.

I'm getting good at my job, I don't have anyone shouting at me or slapping me.

I've been closer to Chase than ever, we've been going out on dates, and we eat a lot together too. He always drops me at home but I insist on going to work on my own.

My phone beeps and it was a notification I set for the board meeting we're having in two hours time.

"Oh I gotta go, thanks Mike" I said, calling his name in a British way. And that made him laugh.

"See you later mate" he waved and I smile.

Rushing up to the elevator, I have to notify Chase and make sure he's ready and I have to arrange the board meeting room before everyone arrives.

I go into his office but he wasn't there, I dialed his number but it went to voice male. I met Judy who told me he came looking for me but left.

Okay!

I walk into my office, picking the paper works I have to distribute to the workers in the meeting.

I went straight to where the meeting will hold, and began to distribute them to each table. Once I was done, I picked my phone and dialed his number again but still voicemail, I decided to drop him a message.

"Hey, its me. We're kinda running out of time here and we have the meeting holding in an hour time. call me" and I ended it.

I went back to my office and began to do some other works.

23 minutes left

I stood up and went to his office but he was still absent. This time I was getting angry.

I picked the data arrangements I made for Chase and left for the board room.

As I approach the door, I hear murmuring and I guess every one was present already.

Am I really going to do this?

I ask myself.

No, just turn back, my mind says and I did but stopped and faced the door again.

You can do this Amy. Just imagine they're all 9 year olds and you have everything under control.

I inhale deeply and released deeply too. Summoning the courage and I grab the doorknob and open it. Immediately eyes were on me and I felt like disappearing. But I raised my shoulder and walk straight.

"Good afternoon ladies and gen-" I cough. Everyone looking at me surprised.

I clear my throat.

"I'll do that again. Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, I'm Amaya. Mr Chase's personal assistant. He's absent because he went for a very important meet up with some clients and asked me represent him today." I continued, everyone paying attention to me.

I turned the screen behind me on, revealing the datasets available.

"This is the percent of the stocks imported over the last month. And it seems that we're running out. The Africans were satisfied with the event and happens they want to see about 60 percent of our goods in their hands in two months time. We have to make them available and we also have to pay the workers. So" I change the screen.

"This is the newly lunched materials, so we'll be working our asses out more and please pressure your teams. We have to collect the materials coming from here and here" I said pointing to the names.

"Everyone should check in and submit their data's by Monday, so we could team up and come up with a good plan strategy on distributing everything in two months time. Thank you, any question please?" I asked and they all said no. "Okay, that'll be all" and before I knew it, there were applause for me. And they began to exit the room, when I saw Mike come in.

"That was amazing Amaya" he said and I smiled. " thanks Mike " and I left for my office to finish some work before finally going home.
