17 Chapter 16

Hailey took a deep breath and looked at herself one last time in the mirror. She didn't know why she felt so nervous. It wasn't the first time that she was going on a date with Valerian so why did she feel this way?

She tried to slow down her beating heart, she remembered the other dates that she had went with him before she left and she couldn't lie that it was one of her highlights. She had fun with him and she remembered how she had felt. She smiled wistfully, she wanted to bury those emotions deep inside and now that she had finally succeeded they were emerging again.

She couldn't believe that she actually was excited to go on a date with him. When she heard the car pull up she went out and saw Valerian standing by the doorway wearing a tux, her heartbeat wildly and she felt as if she would faint from the rush that she was getting.

When he saw, he had a light smile on his face that made her blush and feel hot all over. What power did he have over her she wondered.

When she reached his car, he placed a light peck on her cheek. "You look beautiful Hailey."

"Thank you," she replied, her breath came out in a heady puff.

Valerian grinned and he opened the door for her and she got it. When he came in the car and the engine came to life, Hailey felt as if her heart was doing the same thing.

Valerian turned to her, "Are you ready?"

Hailey cleared her throat, "As I can be."

Hailey caught her breath when Valerian leaned over and put on her safety belt for her, "Saftey first."

Hailey managed to just nod.

They set off, after some time they arrived at their destination. Hailey saw that the restaurant was similar to the one that they had gone to when she had agreed to go out with him.

The memories came back flooding in and overwhelming her. She had remembered how he had been so happy that she had finally agreed to go out with him.

"Do you remember?" Valerian asked her.

"I do."

Valerian smiled, "Good. That's all I could ask for."

He walked out of the car and opened her door for her. Hailey saw that his hand was stretched out for her to take, which she did. When she placed her hand in his, she felt the warmth as he closed his hand around her. He pulled her out the car,

When she was out she straightened and they walked hand in hand.

Hailey looked at their hands and smiled. His hand was holding her tenderly.

When they got to the restaurant, the waiter immediately knew who Valerian was and led them to a private section of the restaurant which was outside.

Hailey looked out at the breathtaking view, and she was again impressed by Valerian. He sure knew how to set a table and a date.

He pulled out her chair for her and she sat down. When he sat down the waiter came.

"May I recommend you our famous wine for tonight?"

Hailey nodded and Valerian agreed.

They also decided to order what was recommended by the chef, when the waiter left Valerian leaned forward, and Hailey held her breath.
