42 Little Melon

After Li Bingbing and Xia Meilin's graduation, Shi Fen and Mu Xijiu flew to States to meet their in-laws.

Li Bingbing moved to one of the hotels that Shi Fen owned and starting then, she never left her room.

She totally became a shut-in even though Li Hua once offered her a job in his company.

A week after graduation, Li Bingbing was invited by Xia Meilin to the high school reunion that everyone prepared. Li Bingbing was supposed to attend the party that was prepared for her class' reunion but then she received a message from her Mu Xijiu that her brother-in-law died of an accident and because of that, they were coming back to attend the funeral that was scheduled on the same day of the reunion.

In the end, Li Bingbing wasn't able to attend the reunion since she accompanied her mother and new father to their province.

She stayed with them for a few weeks before she returned to her place in Imperial city.

Just like usual, she busied herself by playing online games. When she was bored, she would challenge the top 15 hackers in the country and every time she succeeded in beating them, she would earn money. Because of this, Li Bingbing wasn't short of money.

Her codename 'FuccU' soon became famous in the online world. She would even accept a job from companies that wanted to have their security programs checked.

This was Li Bingbing's job without leaving her room for even a second.

As for her food, she would only have to call the person that Shi Fen assigned as her personal guard to bring food for her.

Of course, she blackmailed her personal guard, Qiao Man so that Li Bingbing's life won't be reported to her parents or else they would surely try to get her out of her place.

Xia Meilin didn't contact her and Li Bingbing never thought of this since just like what she said to her, she was not a high maintenance friend.

Although when Xia Meilin called her, Li Bingbing was surprised to see her holding a baby in the video call.

"OMG, Meimei, what kind of sorcery is this? You got married and you didn't invite me?!" This was the first thing that Li Bingbing said when she saw the adorable baby on the screen.

Xia Meilin smiled a bit when she saw her reaction, to be honest, she had a hard time telling Li Bingbing about what happened to her that's why it took her a year before she finally gave her a call.

"I'm not married."

"What?! You're not? Then did your boyfriend impreg-"

"I was raped." Xia Meilin said as she lowered her head, staring at her son.

The smile on Li Bingbing's face disappeared, her eyes became cold at what she said, "When did this happen?"

"During our reunion a year ago... It was Lin Qingge who deceived me."

Lin Qingge?! Li Bingbing never expected that Lin Qingge could do something like that. She was kind and friendly and she never thought that such a woman could be evil inside.

"She'll pay for this-"

"She already did." Xia Meilin said as she looked at Li Bingbing with a small smile. "Grandma already made her family pay."

Li Bingbing quickly looked into the News about it and she found out that the Lin family was indeed been destroyed in one night.

Li Bingbing wasn't really fond of checking the News that's why she wasn't able to found out about it and she regretted it. She could have done something for Xia Meilin and she could have been beside her throughout her tough times and yet she failed in doing this part.

"Let's forget about it, okay? We cannot change what has already happened."

"Do you know who did it to you?" Li Bingbing asked seriously. If only she could get a name, she could have haunted the man who ruined her best friend.

Xia Meilin shook her head, she knew what Li Bingbing was planning and she wasn't going to allow her to do that since she was afraid that Li Bingbing might get herself in trouble to going against the man who raped her. "I don't want to deal with it anymore, Bingbing. I'm trying my best to move on and... I just really want to forget so please, don't ask me about that matter anymore."

Li Bingbing stared at her from the screen and decided not to insist. "Alright, I won't force you to tell it."

Xia Meilin was glad that Li Bingbing was so understanding. She adjusted her son and smiled as she faced him, "This is my son, Xia Gua."

Li Bingbing blinked a few times when she heard the name of her son, "You... named him after a fruit?"

"My favorite fruit!" Xia Meilin grinned. "Xiao Gua (Little Melon), meet your auntie Bingbing."

"Aguu!"

Li Bingbing's heart trembled when she saw Little Melon reached his tiny hands to her while smiling happily at her.

Since Xia Meilin looked like she didn't have a problem with Little Melon despite being a child born out of a traumatizing experience, Li Bingbing decided to accept the small guy.

"Hi, cupcake~ I'm your auntie Bingbing!" If Xia Meilin and Little Melon were in the same room as Li Bingbing, Li Bingbing would have attacked the little guy already.

"Isn't he cute?" Xia Meilin giggled before she kissed Little Melon's chubby cheek. "My baby is the cutest on earth!"
