Roland is a sorcerer and from the most powerful sorcerer's ancient family.
It was passed on from generation to generation. The family history happens to be only females that inherit the powers.
Mrs. Kacey married a commoner against her sister's wish. When she gave birth to Roland, the whole family was in shock. He is the only male child born in centuries.
Everyone was after his life. They fear he won't be able to handle his powers and may turn from good to evil.
They are the protectors of the underworld. Now they fear a family member may destroy centuries of history.
His mother used her life in exchange for he's and send him far away with his father when he was only 6.
His powers have been fully restored and he had learned to control them with the help of his cousins Deminika and Norinika.
They hide in the basement to practice sorcery. They called themselves the "good witches".
"Roland, why are you so worried about that your friend?" Deminika asked trying to read an ancient portion book written by their aunt Kacey, Roland's mother
"You don't understand, I just want to protect her" Roland whispered rolling back and forth in the chair.
"What are you busy looking for, Norinika?" Deminika asked dropping her book on the table and joining her sister in the search.
"I found it" she screams springing up from the chair
"Found what?" Her sister asked still confused.
She walks to Roland and showed him a part in the book about shading from a werewolf attack.
But the process of making the portion was not complete.
"This means my mother was making this portion before her death. It's not complete how then will this be of any use?" Roland scoffed.
"Well you will have to finish her work, my dear cousin" Norinika whispered shoving the book in his chest.
"But how? That will take forever" Roland whimpered.
"Listen, your mother was the best witch that ever lived in history, Now you being her son, would have inherited some, if not all of her powers you need to believe in yourself" explained Deminika.
"If not for anything else do it for Nancy, let me show you a portion that can protect her for the meantime," Norinika said as she make the portion.
"You have anything on you a girl will like?" Norinika asked.
"What? I have a pencil" Roland replied looking dumbfounded as he tries to understand what she wanted it for.
"Leave it" Norinika sighed out of frustration and took off her glamorous bracelet.
Deminika helps her with the enchanting as she dumped the bracelet in the portion. It makes a loud sound with smokes while they kept chanting. Roland squeezes his face as the smell hits him. He was still confused.
"Done, give this to her and makes sure she never takes it off. Mind you it can't protect her from wolves for long, it will wear off as time goes on" explained Norinika.
"Roland!" A voice called out.
"It's my dad" Roland whispered panicking.
"I guess it's time to go" Deminika whispered as she holds her sister's hand and they teleport away.
"In the basement dad," he said aloud.
His dad was already in the basement. He cast a spell and the room went back to a library.
His dad forbids him from practicing any form of magic.
"What were you doing in here?" His father asked walking into the basement as his eyes traveled around the quiet and darkroom.
As he walks further into the room the harsh smell of portion hits him and he held his nose coughing "what's that smell?" He asked scanning the room with his eyes.
"Nothing dad, it must be dirt. Let go before you catch a cold" Roland whispered as he dragged his father out of the basement not after grabbing the bracelet on the table.
"Roland what are you holding there?" his father asked when he saw a woman's bracelet in his hands.
"Huh?" he tried to lie but couldn't find his voice. "Dad, that, huh, it's a bracelet" he muttered.
"I know that, and it belongs to?" he asked again.
"Dad, it's just a present for a friend" he sniffed. "A friend? You like her don't you? Who is she?" he asked curiously.
"Nancy" he responded with a bowed head. "If you like this girl, you should tell her" his father taunts.
"No way dad, she can't know" he whispered not loud enough for his father to hear.
After dinner, Roland felt Nancy was in danger. He couldn't explain the weird feeling he was having.
He grabbed his bike to find Nancy.
