"I thought I was sick, I didn't know I was poisoned, dad say something? Don't keep quiet" I said as my eyes goggles.
"I... I mean find a cure for your sickness" he stammered.
"Dad, that wasn't what you said. I clearly heard you the first time. What is all this about? Just tell me" I wimp.
"It's a long story maybe some other day," my dad said as he strode out of the room pulling my mum with her.
Again they left leaving me hanging. I thought I was sick born but now it happens that I was poisoned.
Is everybody around me going to keep hiding things? What more do I need to do to find out what else are they hiding?
Hours and hours had passed which I hardly notice.
I drifted off as I left for Roland's house. I called Betty on my way to meet me there.
"You are here?" Roland asked in surprise.
"Yes, Roland I need a friend right now Betty is on her way here" I whispered letting myself in the house.
"Come in" Roland drawled.
"Hello good evening sir" I greeted Roland's father who was doing the dishes.
"How are you, Nancy?" He asked with a warming smile.
"I'm fine sir" I replied standing with both hands behind my back.
"Good to see you, Nancy, I will leave you two. Roland, finish the rest" he croaks as he wipes his hand with the napkin gracefully.
"Yes, Dad" Roland whispered.
"I can see you need a hug" Roland whispered as he pulled me into a hug.
I indeed needed a hug. I allowed myself to sink in his warm embrace and break down the strong walls I built around me.
"What happened, Nancy?" Roland frowned, "Is it, Baby?"
Roland always got my back, he has been very supportive. I wouldn't know what I would have done with him.
Roland help me sit on the couch. "Tell me, what happened?" Roland asked as he sat next to me, holding my hands in his.
I poured my heart into him, I told him everything that had happened with Baby and my parents.
"I can't face Baby now." I sniffed.
"You don't have to. And for your parents, they can never stop worrying about you and I believe they will tell you everything at the right time" Roland whispered.
Betty joined as we help Roland finish the dishes.
Both of them made me laugh making my aching heart get soothed for a moment
"Nancy, if it's true you are poisoned, I could try and see if I can find the cure for you" Roland whimpered.
"But how?" I murmur.
"If he gets to know the kind of poison then he can find the cure" Betty muttered.
Roland pulled us out to his basement.
"Ow," I cried as he pierce my thumb with a knife to draw some of my blood in a boiling chemical which was making a lot of smoke.
The smell of it made me clutch my nose. "This smells terrible" I whimpered.
"Shss, don't interrupt me, I'm meditating" Roland scoffed.
He was done in a minute. He had a confused face on. He quickly went through the pages of an old worn-out book.
"What is it, Roland? Where you able to find out the kind of poison I have?" I asked curiously.
He didn't answer. Now I was getting worried. He cast a spell again and call out his grandmasters.
"Nika!" He gulped. Norinika and Deminika teleported inside the basement.
"Hi, Nancy we meet again?" Norinika said as she pulls me for a hug with her hearth soothing aura. Deminika, as always had her moody face on.
"Could you guy teleport outside and use the door as normal human beings do? You almost gave me a heart attack" Betty shrugs.
"Say that again 'fatty' doll" Deminika growls as she stride towards Betty.
"Stop Deminika, and sorry about that Betty" Norinika apologized with a smile.
"And you, what is it now?" Deminika asked Roland as she rolled her eyes.
"Check this out if you know this poison?" Roland whimpered.
Deminika and Norinika went closer as the smell hit them they move back quickly.
"Where did you get this from?" Norinika hissed.
"Do you even know what this is?" Deminika scoffs.
"Roland, this is a very dangerous poison and anyone with this poison can't survive it without the cure" Norinika explained calmly.
"What is it that dangerous?" I sob.
At the sound of her voice, I felt my soul just abandon my body.. I couldn't feel my legs and stumble to the ground Betty held me back on my feet in time.
