Chapter 83 - Horse Riding

"Grandma, how long have I been sleeping? It feels like days" I pout. 

Grandma looks at me and smiles without answering my questions.

"It's not important my dear, what matters is that you are awake now," grandma said as she lean closer for a hug. Something wasn't right. 

"What day is today?" I asked pulling myself up as grandma fixes the pillow behind me for support.

"You have been sleeping for a whole month" Zenab enters my room as his face is gladdened. He was panting, it seems he came running when he was told I was awake.

"That is just not possible, I-I only slept for a few minutes, I remember I was walking with Pana just a while ago" I was dumbfounded. I feel there was something I needed to remember but I couldn't. 

A part of my mind was blank for some reason. 

"Don't worry your head about it, these few months have been tough on you and the good news is you are finally awake" Zenab said squeezing my hands gently with a smile.

Being asleep for a month is so hard to digest. These few days have left me in a daze. I realize I haven't called Roland and Betty since I left. I missed them so much and well to also know how Baby is doing.

I went to Zenab's study to use his computer, to my surprise, it has a stronger network than I thought even better than in Akin city.

Luckily Roland was online, we got to video chat. He was in class.

"Hi Nancy, you made me so worried about you. How could you leave without telling us anything? Wait for a second, what are you wearing?" Roland scolds calling Betty over.

"It's a long story, I'm so sorry I left the way I did without telling you guys anything, I miss you so much" I hiss, it was so nice hearing from them.

"Oh my God bestie, how could you do this to us? I even filed a missing person complaint at the police station. The worse thing is that Baby is not telling us anything. By the way what happened and where are you?" Betty asked.

"Betty it is so nice to see you too, I went to look for my twin brother and grandma it's a long story I will tell you guys all about it when I come back" I pout.

"What? Do you mean you are a princess? Is that why Baby returned back here out of control?" Betty whimpers leaning closer to the monitor.

"What happened Nancy?" Roland said.

"He decided to break up with me and I don't know why. Is he doing okay?" I sob.

"Seriously, I would have loved to tell you he is fine, but he is not well at all, he has become this uncontrollable beast. Trust me he walks around town shirtless and threatens anyone he sees or even walks in his shadow. There are always dead bodies on the streets. And all the time they were killed by an animal attack" Roland narrated Baby's terrible state.

I felt bad but he chose to leave me and I can't go back to the shit hole he pushed me when he decided to break up with me.

"I hope you guys can be there for him, he is not talking to me so I don't know how to help him but I know something is wrong with him" I mumble.

"You must be kidding me, I only tolerated him because of you. He is no friend of mine" Roland pouts.

"You know he won't even listen to us" Betty rumbles chewing her fingernails. 

"Anyway I have to go now I will call you guys now and then check on you" I whisper.

"When are you coming back, Nancy?" Betty asked.

"Um... Now I can't tell but I will be coming back pretty soon" I said running my hands through my hair as my eyes get teary I really miss them.

"Okay Nancy, I will pass by your house every day to clean it up so when you return it won't be so dusty" Betty offered. I was so grateful.

"You are the best guys, I need to go," I said as I went offline before they see me cry.

I took a deep breath before heading back to my room. 

"Where did you go dear?" Grandma was in my room she helps me get back on my bed. I smile as I carry Wolfe in my arms.

"Come on get up, Nancy there is something I want to show you". Zenab said storming inside.

"Hey Zenab, she just woke up she needs to take it easy" grandma whizzed.

"Grandma, I'm fine I want to get out of bed already" I sob.

"Alright settle then, grandma she has a lot of time to rest we are going horse riding. I will show you the most beautiful places in zamuniland you still haven't seen" he was excited making me in a hurry to see all those places.

We went over to the palace stables where two horses were prepared for us. A black horse the same one Zenab was riding at the market area when we first met. The white one was mine, it was beautiful, and the white furs made it magical.

"Which one is mine?"

"The white one" Zenab muttered.

"How do you know I love the color white?"

"Well the way you play with Wolfe was enough to tell" he teased.

"Really now, but thank you so much, I love it" I pout.

"I'll help you on it, but what will you call her?" Zenab asked.

"It's a she?"

"yes"

"I will call her Paloma" I rumble as I walk close to her and stretch my hands towards her, in a way of asking for her permission.

"Paloma is a nice name"

"Meet Kakai," Zenab said as he walks close to his horse. He fed him and made me do the same with Paloma as he did with kakai. I run my hands through her furs, she was a beauty.

I jump on her and started running as fast as she could. Zenab was surprised he was left wondering how I was controlling her generously well.

"Be careful Nancy not so fast?" he said as he jumps on Kakai and run after us. He has been doing horse riding for years he caught up with us in no time.

Now taking the lead Paloma follows him up close. We were soon out of the palace area and enters a stretch of land with a lean walking path. We pass lots of farmlands.

The breeze of fresh fruits smelling in the air made the whole ride more exciting. Kakai starts to slow down it seems we were getting to our destination. Paloma slows down as well.

A group of people was having an argument or a misunderstanding perhaps. Zenab as the crown prince couldn't just leave without trying to find out what was going on.

I stood afar as I watch him handle the whole situation like the wise king he is.

He settled the misunderstanding between the two tribes and they were all pleased.

"Long live, prince Zenab!" They all chant raising their hands in the air. 

"Alright, you guys can go on," he said politely.

They went back to working on the farm peacefully as if nothing has happened.

"What!" Zenab asked after he realized I was constantly staring at him with a smiley face.

We had a walk on the farm holding Paloma and Kakai. "Nothing, just admiring my brother, am l not allowed to do that, your Highness?" I teased.

"Really now"

"But you did great back there, I'm really proud of you" I pout as he smiles it off.

"Finally, we are here," he said as he tires Kakai and Paloma to a nearby branch. 

"Wow!" I exclaimed as I look down at the waterfalls. It was just magical. Because the water was flowing down where I was standing was muddy. I was just curious to look down.

"Watch it Nancy" Zenab yells as he pushes me from where I was standing to a safe side, he lost balance and slips. That moment my heart stops beating. 

He was hanging on the cliff I put my hands over to help him. Millions of questions run through my head at the same time.

"Hold on tight Zenab, don't let go of my hands" I cried.

"No Nancy let go, we will both fall" he yelled forcing me to let go of his hands. Where he was hanging on the cliff if he falls he won't survive it, because he will land on the rocks. 

I was so scared to death that I wasn't breathing. I held on to his hand as if my life depends on it. I was slightly slipping as well as my hands become slippery.

"Hold on tight Zenab" I cried as his weight pulls me. There was nothing there to hold on to. 

"Nancy look, at me, you need to let go of my hand, it's okay" he pleads as he forces a smile.

"No...no I'm not going to lose you too" I cried.

He was gradually slipping off my hands. The heavens might have forsaken me, even my own body has. This can't happen, I just can't lose another family member. 

Mum... Dad, please don't take him from me.
