Chapter 96 - A Narrow Escape

After my stupidity of deciding not to hide but join Baby and Leo face thousands of angry werewolves that want me dead, my legs tremble in fear.

I clenched my legs tightly, they refused to put me out of my fear and anxiety. I stood there ready to face whatever may come out of the door.

The wolves all line up in front of us. There are only three of us, well two and a half. Their deadly glare made me fright yet standing firm.

Already expecting the worse, how could I possibly think I could do this.

"Ready Nancy?"

"Anytime" I gulp looking around.

Baby and Leo stares at me and shifted their attention to the angry wolves in front of us. I know they feel the need to protect me but I ignore them and position myself ready to attack whenever they were.

"Just stay close to me, and when it's getting scary run to the vault." Baby chuckled, as he slightly bend himself ready to attack.

"Okay." I nodded.

"And stay away from the white fur wolf." Baby shrugged.

"And why is that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"You didn't know huh?" Leo smirked, his eyes flickered over to the white fur wolf.

"They use to be lovers," Leo smirked.

"I see then she will be aiming at me, good," I said impatiently staring at her as she glare at me.

I try to ignore feeling jealous. What is there to be jealous about? But I did and I wish I could find all 5OO lovers of his and have their heads.

"Okay, fine." I shrugged standing up straight.

"You guys didn't come here to talk but to fight, right? Let's get this over and done with. Enough of the staring contest." I pout bitting my lips.

"You are not having my children, so do what you came here for." I gulped trying to keep my confidence and not swallow my own words.

"Nancy, get behind me!" Baby whispered.

That's the thing about animals they are always looking for the perfect chance to attack I was getting fed up with the waiting. My fear only kept increasing.

"Let's talk then," a deep voice said behind the wolves as the other wolves give way for her to come through.

"Okay, and who are you?" I pouted, fighting to keep my voice even and to sound bold enough.

"It doesn't matter who I am, what matters is that I know you." She said mumbled taking her time as she walks closer to me. Each step of her made a terrific sound in my head and my heart shredded.

I took a step back as she comes closer to me. "I got you." Baby murmured, holding me to stand on my feet.

In the midst of all this, this very moment made me feel absolute cloudiness in my brain. I couldn't think of anything but how to make it out there alive and see my children again.

"Let's talk about your children, you know what you have given birth to right?" She smirked, as she halt.

"What about my children?" I try not to let my fear cripple my mind nor cloud my sense.

"I hope I'm wrong." She shrugged and turn her back on me.

It seems they were mind communicating, whatever they talk about I hope it did convince her.

"There will be no attack today....but I will be watching you closely." She announced as she takes her leave.

"Well, thanks for the visit, bye and I will be watching you too." I scoffed behind her I could hear her chuckle.

The rest of the wolves start to leave the place. In a minute they were all gone.

"That was a close one." I let out a sigh as I collapse onto the couch.

"You did it again Nancy." Baby smirks tilting his head.

"A very close one indeed." Leo murmur as he falls on the couch next to me, Baby sat next to me as we all try to get over our fright.

Believe it or not, they were also scared it was going to be a blood bath.

"Are you okay Nancy?" Baby asked.

"Yes, I will be." I hissed as we both stare in the air.

"Where are you going?" Leo asked when he saw me getting up from the couch.

"To open the vault," I murmur.

"The vault, oh yes." He mumbled in response. We all forgot about Roland and Betty for a while.

"Nancy, oh my God, are you okay?" Roland asked as soon as I open the vault for them to come out.

"Yes, we survived it." I pout going back into Baby's arms.

"I thought...." Betty bit her lips.

"You thought you will come out to see blood everywhere right?" I asked as she nodded gracefully.

"Well, we got lucky this time." I shrugged.

"It was a long night I need to go get some rest." I pout, turning to face Pana.

"Yes, my lady I'm ready whenever you are." She said in response.

"Why don't you all stay here will head back to town tomorrow." Baby proposed cuddling my shoulders.

Now that I'm over my fears I'm still angry at him. He dare to tell Meredith not to let me know where he was.

"Whose house is this anyway?" I mumbled.

"Our family's" he replied with a smirk.

"Roland, you guys should go have some rest. You too Pana." I whispered. The three of them nod as they walk out of the hall.

"What!" Leo muttered when he realized I had fix my angry gaze on him.

"You turn yourself to a little cub just to be beside me?" I snapped.

"It's not what you think...listen" he argues.

"Yes, I told him but he didn't listen to me." Baby shrugged.

"Really," I said facing Baby now, "did you know about this because you brought him to me." I holler with my hands on my hips.

"Um.. about that, I swear I didn't know and besides he fooled me too." Baby defends himself.

"This is not over yet, Baby, walk with me," I said almost ordering him as I walk to the door.

I got to the door and he was still sitting on the couch as if he didn't hear me. I tilted my head staring at him.

He jumped on his feet and trout behind looking down.

"Why did you disappear without a trace? Why did you make sure I never get to find you? Where you that determine to leave me?" I said angrily as I swiftly turn to face him.

He was right behind me as I turned our heads bump into each other.

"Ouch." I pout holding my forehead.

"I didn't want you to get worried, when I found out you were human again, I lost control thinking I might have hurt you... Why didn't you stop me? You were in pain and I didn't even notice." He cursed himself as he hit himself on the head repeatedly.

"That was my choice, why are you bent on breaking up with me?" I mumbled folding my fist.

I don't have the energy to keep begging him for his love.

"Nancy," he said putting his hands on my shoulders.

"There are a lot of things I can't tell you now...we can't be...." He hissed looking into my deep brown eyes as I struggle to hold back my tears.

"I'm tired running after you like a desperate bitch, if you don't want to be with me... If you are keen on breaking up with me this time around, I'm not going back to you even when you beg me on your knees. I have felt humiliated enough, no more." I said as I wipe the pearl of tears that manage to escape from my eyes.

"I can't bear to stay away from you, this few months I tried I lost my purpose of living, I promise you no more. I will never leave your side and our children." He pouts pulling me for a tight hug.

"Even if I have to fight against the universe." He added, hugging me tightly.

At least I heard what I wanted to hear.

It's time to bring the twins home. I let out a sigh as I hug him back.

Finally, I can have some moments of peace.

Just then Branson and Justin showed up and the expression on their faces isn't that of someone bringing good news but bad.

It's never going to end, the war just got started.

"Please, please again give us some good news," I mumbled looking at Branson and Justin as Baby holds me tightly in his arms.

"I would have love to give you guys some goodnews, but I'm sorry I have bad news," Justin grumbles.

"The pack," Branson muttered.

"it's bad, they have enstooled a new alpha and the new alpha has ordered for your head," Justin informed as Baby chuckled. This is ridiculous.

"Hilarious, who is the new alpha of my pack?" Baby shrugged looking at me with a loving eye.

"Alpha Bentil, he was a rogue, i was informed he was sucked from a pack in the north coast." Branson pouts.

"I see, what do you say Nancy, it seems we need to go for war again." he smirked planting a kiss on my forehead lovingly.

"Go tell him, i will bring my head to him myself tomorrow." Baby scrowls with his gaze fixed on me as if he wanted to recover all the time he missed being with me.

"You hear him.." I mumbled returning his smiles.
