Chapter 275 - Here Comes the Earthquake!

“Ms. Xi, we are going to meet Boss Lee of Tai Ding Group this evening, and we still have two and a half hours left, where do you want to go?” Fourth turned to ask Murong Yunxi. He did not give a sh*t to her before, but now things were different when he saw she had a style of leadership.

Upon hearing the words, Murong Yunxi raised her head from watching her computer and thought for a while before replying, “How about going around the shopping mall nearby, we can buy some gifts to Niannian, Gong Yu and my bother since we are free now.”

Fourth nodded and said something to their driver.

When it comes to shopping, C city was not as good as A city where people could find more choices. Murong Yunxi strolled around the shopping mall at random, but didn’t find anything she liked, and then she walked out of the mall.

Her interests ignited when she found by accident a small pedestrian street with dazzling stores along both sides besides the mall. The things that in general people could not find in big shopping malls could be found in the small shops like these.

When Murong Yunxi was about to go to the street, Fourth stopped her. “Ms. Xi, we’d better not to go, that place is somewhat dangerous for there might be bad guys.”

Murong Yunxi had second thoughts for Fourth’s insistence, but her heart was dying for those colorful stores.

“Maybe we can take a look first? We can get out if it’s too crowded.”

Murong Yunxi asked in a tentative way with her neck shrunk, and she looked so pathetic, which was so different from her former mighty behaviors. Fourth couldn’t help asking himself, “Is it the same person?”

Murong Yunxi felt a little bit relaxed when Fourth was kind of wavered, so she fought for anther chance at once.

“I’ve been so busy these days, now I finally have some time to roam around somewhere I am interested in. Moreover, there are not too many people here for it’s not on weekend nor rush hours, so can you just let me relax for a while?”

After that, Murong Yunxi winked her big bright eyes at Fourth, making him a tinge of unease.

“Okay, okay, but you can’t walk out of my sight. When I say leave, we should leave immediately.”

Murong Yunxi looked cute and said, “Fine! I’m sure I will behave well.”

A set of tiny clay dolls in a small shop caught her eyes. The dolls’ expressions were very exquisite; one of them had raised eyebrows with a cold look; one had an adorable smile on its face; one had twinkled eyes with its tongue stuck out. The three dolls looked so cute that they reminded her of Gong Yu, Niannian and herself.

She bought them without hesitation and threw the box to Fourth readily.

In another store, she felt satisfied with a long dress with ethnical characteristics, which had delicate hand-made embroidery patterns on it. Additionally, she thought of Gu Yuxuan immediately, so she bought the dress as well as another one of similar style, planning to wear sister clothes with Gu Yuxuan.

Murong Yunxi’s interest was ever-increasing for these stores that did have many distinctive things.

She then bought Murong Ye a scarf, Murong Qingtian a delicate jade pendant, and Niannian a quite lovely bonny doll, besides which, she also bought a couple of hand-made silver couple bracelets.

Although she had spent so much time with Gong Yu, besides a pair of wedding rings, it seemed that they really didn’t have any mutual belongings. Made of silver, cheap as the bracelets might be, they meant a lot. The locking part of the bracelets was a lovely little bear. In Murong Yunxi’s heart, her story with Gong Yu was originated from that bear, which linked them from two different worlds.

The jewelry ornaments in this store were handily made by its owner, so each of them was unique and so into Murong Yunxi’s appetite. She picked out a couple of decorative chains and put them on the bracelets, which looked different at once.

Murong Yunxi touched this pair of bracelets with huge enthusiasm when Fourth said to her, “Ms. Xi, the time is closing, let’s go.”

At the moment, Murong Yunxi almost finished her shopping, so she agreed briskly, following Fourth to the outdoor while Fourth carried all the presents Murong Yunxi just bought.

Suddenly, Murong Yunxi smelled a whiff of milky tea. Might because she was really thirsty for wandering too long or the sweet smell arose her yearn, she was hungry for that milk tea shop.

“Fourth, you put the stuff into the car first and wait for me on the street corner, I will come to find you as soon as I bought the milky tea,” Murong Yunxi said. While she was talking, her sight was always glued at that store and her saliva was splitting.

Fourth was a little hesitant. “Let me wait for you, we can leave together after you bought it.”

Murong Yunxi looked around. “Ah! We’re near crossroads, and it’s not far from our car. You can get into the car first and drive the car here for saving time. What’s more, it’s strange for you to follow me to the milky tea shop with so many stuff.”

Fourth was still wavered. Murong Yunxi pushed him to the corner impatiently and said, “Oh my goodness! Don’t be so dawdling, I am just to buy myself a drink.”

Fourth had no idea but just took the gifts towards the corner with huge steps, while Murong Yunxi walked to the milk tea store with pleasure. She said, “Excuse me, how much is it?”

The shopkeeper was a young girl with a smile as sweet as milky tea on her face.

“Our milky tea is blended according to customers’ taste, so, you’ll have many optional choices. There are so many kinds of flavors for you to pick. Besides, these are additional ingredients. RMB20 for each cup.”

Murong Yunxi looked at the two guiding boards the shopkeeper was pointing at, and then she began to pick the flavor she liked.

“OK, I would like a cup vanilla flavor with some sweet Ormosia.”

“Okay, please wait for a moment.”

After that, the shopkeeper began to make milky tea for Murong Yunxi.

“You know what, you really make good milky tea, and it smells better than those in other shops, so do you have any special recipe?” During the waiting time, Murong Yunxi chatted with that girl casually.

“Oh! About it… actually, we don’t have any special recipe, we just have selected our ingredients. My father has a farm, so all the milk is from there, and we work early every morning to make sure the milky tea is fresh, and my father also helps me grind the ingredients personally. That’s it!”

The girl’s voice was so sweet that Murong Yunxi listened to her patiently, and she couldn’t help giving the girl more glances. Although the girl was not match up with beautiful, she had white skin, big eyes, and two little dimples on her face when she smiled. Above all, she seemed just as sweet as milk tea.

After Murong Yunxi exchanged a few words with the shopkeeper for a while, the tea milk was done. She paid the bill and walked straight to the street crossing.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and Murong Yunxi felt a little confused, “Is there an earthquake?”

Murong Yunxi lived in a city where the earthquake had barely happened. Although there had several light earthquakes before, the level was not that high. Thus, even she had guessed that it was an earthquake, she didn’t take it seriously.

She stopped and tried to feel some tremors but felt nothing. However, when she continued to go to the crossroad, the ground began to shake fiercely. Vendors along with the street shouted with panic, “Earthquake, earthquake…”

Along with that shouting, people began to run fast, and all these were followed by people’s yelling, children’s crying, and the sound of people bumping into each other and their curse.

The tremors were ever-increasing, and it made Murong Yunxi panic, for she never experienced such a fierce earthquake before. People crashed her back and forth while running.

A tough guy ran towards the opposite way and yelled, “My son, my son is still inside!”

He bumped Murong Yunxi onto ground, but he was in a hurry that he didn’t help her up or gave her an apology or a glance.

The saddest thing was that Murong Yunxi found once she fell, it would be way difficult to stand up in the crowd. People ran by her, keeping hit her, making it hard for her to raise up. The milk tea that she just bought was knocked over by someone without her noticing and splashed all over her. She immediately got a chill in the cold day.

However, at this moment, she didn’t have time to consider whether it was cold, it was more important to save her life first.

When Murong Yunxi was about to get up, she saw a little girl crying on the ground in the interval of the moving crowd. The little girl tried to stand up while yelling, but before she made it, others hit her again. It was even hard for an adult like Murong Yunxi to raise up in that case, let alone for such a little child.

Actually, the little girl’s cry was loudly, but the crowds’ shouting covered her voice, so, no one stopped to take a look at this girl.

Murong Yunxi saw a foot stepping on the girl’s hands hardly, and then someone stamped on her legs.

In a blink of an eye, Murong Yunxi thought of Niannian and reckoned that the girl at the same age with Niannian could not bare the pains of being stepped on.

Besides, Murong Yunxi seemed to see Niannian was shouting there, was stepped by others. When think of that, her heart was aching all of a sudden, and she had not consider people who ran by, crawling towards the young girl.
