Everyone listened to their exchange, trying to gather their thoughts on this matter.
Yao Ran had sounded so sincere and real. She really looked like a heartbroken girl who just wanted her sister to come home. Even Luo Hua was moved.
If Qin Jing didn’t know her true colors, she would’ve been fooled by the display of love.
Lin Xin looked a little worried. She glanced back and forth, wondering how this was going to go down. She knew for a fact that Sister Tang didn’t want to head back.
However, Yao Ran had already said too much. If Yao Tang refused to head back, then the teachers present would only misunderstand her to be some heartless and ungrateful daughter.
This wouldn’t be a good thing for her reputation either.
It was a lose-or-lose situation that Yao Ran had managed to dig up. Awkwardness filled the air, and Lin Xin could only shuffle hesitantly.
All of their gazes fell on Yao Tang.
They glared at her in worry and disdain.
“Are you saying that the Yao Family wants me to return?” Yao Tang raised her gaze to look at her. Her voice was indifferent, and her entire temperament was cold enough to freeze the desert.
“Yes,” Yao Ran immediately jumped in to respond.
If she would use this matter to get Yao Tang to return home, then it would simply be a bittersweet victory for her. It was a blessing in disguise.
It seemed that she had finally managed to trap the untrappable.
“The Yao Family really wants me to come back,” Yao Tang mused sharply. “If that was so, why would you even post a statement in the forum when I was slandered. You even clarified our relationship.”

She cocked up an eyebrow.
Just as Yao Ran was about to respond, she immediately intervened,
“And why would they even ask you to ask me to return? Is this really just because I am the daughter of your Second Uncle that you are so desperate to see for my return?”
Yao Tang spoke slowly, emphasizing each and every word.
Everyone appeared confused, but she couldn’t care less about any of them. She was only staring at Yao Ran.
She would certainly understand the implication of her words. After all, the girl cared far more for her reputation than for anyone else in the world.
As she had expected, Yao Ran’s eyes flashed with panic.
Did Yao Tang want to tell everyone the truth? Sure, she may not have been the biological daughter of the Yao Family, but they had doted on her all this time! She was more of a daughter than Yao Tang ever was!
She certainly wasn’t going to let anyone else know about this.
“They miss you, that’s all. But if you do not want to come back, then that’s fine as well. I’ll be the one to inform them,” Yao Ran quickly said, dropping the topic completely. “After all, it is only right that we focus on our studies on campus.”
Within a few seconds, she had already changed sides.
Qin Jing couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Ha! Yao Ran was all talk.
Meng Yang, however, was still focused on Zhou Kai.
“Okay, this matter ends here,” Luo Hua immediately interrupted, upon seeing Yao Ran retreating.
They still had classes tomorrow, and it was already very late.
Upon hearing his words, Xi Yan also agreed. “You should all head back. Please be careful,” she reminded. “And make sure to get some rest once you’ve returned.”
“Okay!” Lin Xin nodded.
Meng Yang, however, still needed a bit more assistance before he finally agreed to leave. He shot one more glare at Zhou Kai before turning away, his fists trembling. If there weren’t any teachers present, he would’ve already beaten this man into a pulp!
Xiao Pang also shook his head in disappointment.
It was Zhou Kai’s fault! If it hadn’t been for him, Yao Ran would have already been caught red-handed!
When Yao Ran heard the dismissal, she immediately grabbed her bag and said her goodbyes. She didn’t even wait for them to say anything before she sprinted away.
“Zhou Kai, come with me.” Luo Hua stood in front of the young boy with a scowl on his face. “We will inform your parents tomorrow about this incident. Let us discuss what you know.”
“Of course, Teacher Luo.” He lowered his head.
..
It was already the next day as Luo Hua and Zhou Kai found themselves seated in a much smaller conference room.
The old man interrogated him carefully, making sure that he left no information out of the paper. It seemed that Zhou Kai was behind everything!
He even admitted to placing the exam papers under Yao Tang’s desk. His main purpose was to frame her for what she had done to Yao Ran.
