Qin Jing flushed.
She didn’t know what gift Sister Tang had prepared for her. While she was a hundred percent sure that she’d love it, she wasn’t sure if everyone else would agree with her.
After all, if the gift wasn’t up to par in terms of monetary value, then they would simply look down on her.
“I’d prefer to open this gift in private. Knowing Yao Tang, she may have prepared a surprise for me that might not be to everyone’s taste.” Qin Jing smiled, laughing lightly. “Besides, I’m sure I might just bore you with how slow I move around.”
Her words were quite reasonable. With a small smile, she placed the gift back onto the table. Despite this, everyone didn’t buy it as they pushed for the celebrant to open the bag.
“Miss Qin, don’t be so stingy!”
“That’s right! If there’s really a surprise inside, then we certainly wouldn’t be bored, right?”
“Wouldn’t it be better to entertain your guests’ wishes?”
“Open it!”
“Yao Tang is the glorious photographer of Sheng Ting. I’m sure her gift would not disappoint,” one of them insisted even further. “It certainly would be a step up from the rest of us.”
“I’m already looking forward to it!”
Their jeering voices grew louder and louder, and the tension around them grew even thicker. She bit the insides of her cheeks to prevent herself from snapping at them.
Was it not her birthday party?
Should she not be the one to decide whether or not she opens her gifts?
Why the hell were these people asking her to do something she didn’t want to do?
“All of you are truly…” Anger flashed across Qin Jing’s face, and her lips curled in disgust. However, before she could scream at them, she caught the eyes of her brother through the crowd. Her gaze immediately softened.
Qin Rui slowly nodded, indicating that she could open this gift.
He looked quite sure with his decision as if he was certain that Yao Tang wouldn’t be embarrassed from this entire spectacle. In fact…Qin Jing narrowed her eyes.
Was he smiling? Was he truly this sure about this?
Slowly relaxing, she turned back to the crowd.
“Fine, let’s all open it together.”
Yao Tang stood at the side, crossing her arms over her chest. There was a faint smile playing on her lips. It didn’t matter to her whether the gift was being opened or not.
After all, they were all unimportant to her.
The only thing that truly counted was whether or not Qin Jing liked it.
Qin Jing slowly nodded.
The celebrant grabbed the bag from the desk and slowly removed the seal. With a deep breath, she took one last look at the judges and pulled something out of the bag.
Her eyes widened.
It was a bag filled with CDs, all of them glittering under the artificial light.
The crowd’s focus immediately shifted to Sheng Ting’s name scribbled across each and every disk. Every single one of the albums had his signature!
It was the complete set!
“Wow!”
Everyone exclaimed as they stared at the albums in envy. No one ever had the entire copy of Sheng Ting’s albums, given that some of them were extremely limited edition, much less had his signature in all of them.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe it!”
“Wouldn’t that cost millions of dollars?!”
“Damn, I bet Yao Tang asked Sheng Ting to sign them herself! What kind of relationship do you think they have?”
“God, I’m so jealous!”
The girls shrieked, trying to push their way into the crowd.
Their eyes glistened.
Yao Ran, however, wasn’t all that impressed. She scowled. So what if Yao Tang had prepared all of these? It wasn’t as if she had put much thought into them!
“You didn’t just ask Sheng Ting for these things and put them together, did you?” she slowly said. “After all, that didn’t really require much effort on your end, did it?
