Under their gazes, Yu Shu clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. “What are you all looking at me for?” she snapped at them. “I’ll be handing out the examination papers. Do you want to compete or not?”
Everyone instantly lowered their heads.
Just then, a group of people walked past the classroom, peering into the windows.
“What’s going on?” Director Li shouted, pushing the door open. “What are you all doing? Why haven’t you handed out the examination papers yet? Are the examinees still going to compete?”
Yu Shu paled in an instant.
If Principal Kong found out about this, it would be almost impossible for her to go in and out of the school.
She hurriedly pointed at Yao Tang. “It’s all her fault!” She scoffed. “If she hadn’t caused any trouble, we would’ve handed out the examination papers long ago. We’ll get right onto it immediately.”
However, as soon as Yu Shu said this, one of the male teachers frowned. “Why are you pointing fingers at her?”
Seeing this, the male teacher immediately told the invigilators everything that had transpired a few seconds ago.
“This matter has nothing to do with me!” Yu Shu’s face flushed dark red, stomping her foot. She pointed at the boy from class one. “If it hadn’t been for that student, I wouldn’t have insisted in this debacle. This isn’t my fault at all.”
As soon as the pair finished speaking, Director Li turned to the middle-aged man standing next to him. “What do you think we should do, Sir?”
In his heart, he had wanted to scold the invigilator, but at this point, he wasn’t exactly sure what to do.
The person standing beside him was none other than the President of the Math Association. Now that he was finally able to reach out to him, he wasn’t sure how to react.
Fortunately, the middle-aged man simply glanced at Yu Shu and the young man before turning away. “Let’s go,” he said simply.
As soon as he said this, Director Li sighed in relief and followed him right out the door.
However, just one glance in his direction and the boy trembled.
He was the President of the Math Association—the same organization that he had always wanted to join!
However, now that he had been caught, the president wouldn’t have a good impression of him. Was the president still willing to accept him into the organization?
Thinking of this, the young student shivered, distracted by the President’s words. He couldn’t even look at the test papers that were being handed out to every single student in the hall.
..
On the other side of the hallway, Director Li led the President of the Mathematics Association toward the teacher’s building.
The President had a smile on his face, but there was something so chilling about his look that made Director Li Shiver.
He had really screwed things up big time.
“That female invigilator—is she a representative from your school?”
Director Li scratched his head. Even he wasn’t sure of it.
“No, she’s simply a temporary invigilator provided by the school. After all, we need all hands on deck, Sir.” One of the female teachers nodded in reply.
Director Li glanced up at the old man. “Why are you asking me this?” he asked. “If you want to see her, Sir, I can ask her to find you after the competition ends.”
He still had an easy going smile on his face.
The President of the Mathematics Association didn’t respond as well as he had hoped. Instead, he scowled. “That woman had almost prevented the student I’ve watched grow up from taking the exam.”
What?
“President,” he quickly said. “I’m so sorry. It’s all our fault for not managing the examination as properly as we had hoped. Please don’t take it to heart. I’ll speak to her right away.”
The female student he had said to have cared for ever since she was young.
Didn’t that mean that the young woman was also like his child?
At the thought, Director Li paled even further. He couldn’t afford to offend her.
