The Yao Family drove a black limousine today, so there was plenty of room for everyone. Qin Manwas seated in the middle seat.
As soon as she turned and saw Yao Tang entering the car, she immediately looked away. A sour expression was painted across her face.
She was expecting Yao Tangto address her, but when she didn’t, she couldn’t swallow her anger anymore. “You really are rude!” she snapped. “Don’t you know how to address me?”
Snorting, the Yao Matriarch rolled her eyes and pulled Yao Tang aside. “Ignore her,” she stated. “Take a seat right next to me.”
“Okay.”
The two of them completely ignored Qin Man, obviously having no intention of talking to her.
Her face immediately flushed red from the anger as her fingers dug into the leather. What the heck was going on? However, she couldn’t do much except cross her arms over her chest and turn away.
“It’s late now.” Yao Tang glanced out the window. “I have to head back to the dormitory. I still have school tomorrow.”
Old Madame Yao blinked in surprise. “What dormitory are you talking about? Your father told me you’ve been living at your second uncle’s house all this time, saying you liked it better there.”
Dormitory?
How could a school dormitory be better than her bedroom? Wasn’t living in the dormitory just uncomfortable for someone of her standing?
Old Madame Yao scowled.
Qin Man was clearly showing her favorites!
“Grandma, you may have remembered wrongly.” Yao Tang furrowed her eyebrows. “I was registered as the child under my second uncle’s family, and as such…technically, live there. Yao Ran, according to the registration, is the true daughter of Qin Manand Yao Yuan.”
As soon as she said those words, the old woman almost had a heart attack. She clutched her chest, as her face turned even darker.
Yao Yuan and Qin Manstiffened.
Ever since his mother had returned, Yao Yuan made no mention of the recent adjustments. What she didn’t know then was that in the public’s eye, Yao Tangwas nothing but a cousin to Yao Ran.
They didn’t want to tell her this, given the mess that could occur. However, now they had no other choice.
Damn it!
“Mom,” Yao Yuan said quickly. “Yao Tanghas been studying this entire day. She’s probably exhausted. Why shouldn’t she go back first?”
He also shot her a warning glance. “There are just some things you shouldn’t be joking about, Yao Tang. Your grandmother is old. She can’t handle lies like these.”
“Lies?” Yao Tang scoffed. “But I’m telling the truth.”
“Telling the truth?” Yao Yuan slammed his hand onto the car door. “How dare you make your grandmother angry? Are you trying to shock her to death? You have no right to talk to her like this!”
Upon seeing her look so unconcerned, Yao Yuan’s face blew up into a dark shade of red. This girl had no right to expose them like this!
However, Old Madame Yao already understood the meaning of Yao Tang’s words. She didn’t have to be a genius to know of her current situation. Her hands clenched.
“How long were you planning of hiding this from me?” the old lady finally snapped. “Do you still plan on lying to me? What the hell did you do to my granddaughter? How dare you treat her like this?”
Thinking of what Yao Tang had just said, the old lady clenched her fists. Her gaze toward Yao Yuangrew even colder by the second, and Yao Yuancould only look down in embarrassment.
“I’m leaving first. I still have some homework I need to do.”
Yao Tang glanced at her.
With a helpless sigh, she agreed. “Fine, go back and rest well. I’ll see you soon some other day.”
With a wave, she glanced at the other two people sitting in the car.
“Are we going to talk about what that young girl just said?”
Yao Yuan hesitated. “We didn’t know that Yao Tangwould have this many connections…If we had…we wouldn’t have done what we did!”
