“The owner has asked me to give you this box.” The female assistant snapped out from her reverie and hurriedly bowed her head. “Please accept it. The box should be kept in extremely low temperature, so we’d ask that you’d put it somewhere safe.”
When Yao Tang opened the box, she saw bottles of medicine stacked together, each with letters written on them.
The female assistant thought back to the serious look on her boss’s face. She sized her up, wanting to see what was so different about the new visitor that had affected her boss so much.
“If you don’t accept the box, my boss said that I should follow you all the way to your destination.”
Seeing as Yao Tang had already accepted the box, she relaxed and stepped out of the way.
What the female assistant didn’t know was that if she had spoken a second later, the box would’ve been hurriedly returned to her without hesitation.
“You can head back now.” Yao Tang took one glance at the woman’s helplessness before nodding.
Just then, one of the flight attendants called out, “Miss Yao, you can board the plane now. Your seats have been prepared. Are you ready?”
“Yes.”
She nodded.
A few hours later, Yao Tang had finally arrived in City A. When she returned to her house in the city, she stored the reagents inside the special freezer in her room.
Then, she grabbed her bag and slowly pulled out a wooden box.
“Hm…”
Inside the box was a sealed parchment. Taking it out from the box, she combined it with the other parchment she had hidden in the small compartment in her room.
She gazed at the parchment papers.
When they were combined, only a small part overlapped with each other. The other parts were blank. It meant something, but…She bit her lips.
Closing her eyes, she replayed the scene in her mind over and over again.
At that moment, her phone rang.
Yao Tang didn’t answer the phone, but instead, gazed into the parchment paper once more. However, as she did so, a sharp pain spread from her fingertips. Looking down, she saw that she had a papercut.
Drops of blood fell on the parchment paper. Sighing in frustration, she tried to wipe away the blood before it left any permanent stains.
However, as soon as she did so, the blood stains disappeared in an instant. It was as if the paper had absorbed all traces of her blood. What was this?
She stared at the parchment for a long time. Tilting her head, she grabbed both sides of the paper and soaked it with water.
It was waterproof!
Interesting.
Just then, a thought crossed her mind.
She had wanted to see the information written on the parchment, neglecting the wooden box placed right beside her. Her fingers thoughtfully drummed against the box.
After all, there was more than one way to store and record information.
Now that she had thought about it, she had never really seen a wooden box like this before. In fact, the parchment paper she was holding definitely wasn’t something she had seen before either.
If she couldn’t find the information she needed on the parchment, perhaps it was time to investigate the object that the parchment paper came with.
Yao Tang grabbed her toolbox from the cabinet.
It’s time she got to the bottom of this.
She slowly examined the wooden box, then looked into the properties of the parchment paper. Yao Tang would write down any observation she had on the document. All the properties she had observed were later posted in her computer, followed by a small price.
Without another word, she turned off her computer.
What she didn’t know was how the entire underground organization had exploded as soon as they read her post.
Everyone was speaking about it!
However, Yao Tang wasn’t the slightest bit bothered. Instead, she grabbed her phone and spent the next few minutes scanning over the messages Jiang Wanhad sent over.
“How are you doing? Good luck with your schoolwork! You got this!” she had typed down, followed by a few emojis. Jiang Wan probably thought that she was still in school.
“I’m doing good, thank you!” Yao Tang followed up with an emoji.
“That’s good. Take good care of your body, okay? I know you have so much left to do at school, but you should also prioritize yourself. Don’t stress too much.”
“I will. Thank you!” Yao Tang smiled
