Chapter 365 - The New Seats

“Lin Xin, what about me? Did I do well on the exam?” Another boy shouted from right behind them, teasing the student. “Maybe I’ve improved too.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

“Whatever!” Lin Xin shot a glare at the boy behind her, holding onto her friend’s hand. “It’s almost time for class. Shouldn’t you be preparing your textbooks?”

Another round of laughter echoed around the class as they went to their seats. It’s obvious how well they all get along with each other.

Just then, five people walked into the classroom, wearing uniforms from another school. They stuck together, with their heads tilted upward.

The boys wore some suits and vests, while the girls wore pleated skirts and buttoned-up shorts. They looked very youthful and well-put together, compared to the others from Class 20.

Some of them had arm bands tied around their sleeves.

Although No. 1 High School had uniforms, the students didn’t wear them.

When the five students from the international school heard the laughter echoing from Class 20, the two girls from the five shared a look and frowned.

One of the girls spotted Yao Tang and walked toward her, placing her hand on her hips.

“This seat,” she started, tilting her head. “Is yours?”

The girl looked very similar to Yan Yu, but her attitude seemed to be a bit different. Yao Tang slowly looked up at the girl, drumming her fingers onto the table.

Yan Yu may appear cold and unfriendly, but there’s something about his personality that made people feel welcome. He was a sweet guy who was easily misunderstood by many.

This girl also appeared cold, but there’s something about her narrowed eyes and curled lips that made it appear she was judging her.

“Hm.” Yao Tang shrugged.

Sneering, she narrowed her eyes. “Who are—”

“Yan Wei,” Qin Jing. “Is something wrong?”

Yan Wei was about to say something when someone called out her name. “Yan Wei.”

Her name was the only thing that had stopped her in her tracks. A bright smile slipped into her lips as she glanced back at her friends. “I’m just taking a look.”

Without another word, Yan Wei walked to the back row and took her seat.

Wasn’t that Yan Yu’s seat?

However, the tables and chairs had all been replaced with brand new ones. It seemed that Yan Yu’s desk as well as the other group were piled at the back of the classroom.

Sensing Yao Tang’s curious gaze, Lin Xin quickly filled her in, “They were arranged to sit in the last row, but they said something about wanting to sit with their classmates.” She shrugged. “Yan Yuand the others will be back in a couple of days, so they’ll be sitting there first.”

No. 1 High School naturally couldn’t be stingy given that they were international students.

Otherwise, people would gossip.

Therefore, after asking the permission of Yan Yu and the other students, they moved their tables to the back and let the exchange students take their place.

Yao Tang glanced back at the boy who had spoken just now.

The boy was the one who told Yan Wei not to speak and looked quite handsome. He also appeared to be the leader of the group given how at ease he was in pulling his group of friends back.

“That’s the handsome guy I was talking about!” Lin Xin whispered in her ear. “Yang Nian!”

Yang Nian glanced in Yao Tang’s direction. His stomach stirred uneasily as a thought crossed his mind. Why did this girl…

Why did she seem so familiar?

It was like he had seen this person a long time ago, but he just couldn’t remember any specific time they met. Perhaps it was just a trick of the mind.

Or had he seen her?

Suddenly, a pair of cold eyes stared right back at him, and he felt all the hairs on his neck standing right up. His fingers twitched.

Only when he recovered from his sentences did he nod and smile at her, unbothered by her narrowed eyes.

Yao Tang then looked away.

The bell rang, and the math teacher stepped into the classroom, with his book in his hand. “Good morning, class,” he greeted kindly, looking around.

When he saw Yao Tang in her original seat, a smile appeared in his features.

“Yao Tang, you’re back!”
