“Okay.” Yang Nian nodded indifferently, not saying anything else.
He had already tried to defend her by ensuring that she wouldn’t be able to take the blame for anything, but it seemed that he had no other choice.
He’d simply have to back down now.
After all, he couldn’t do anything else anyway.
“She obviously doesn’t appreciate your help. I don’t even know why you’re insisting otherwise.” Yan Wei scoffed, bringing her gaze to Yao Tang.
Her eyes flashed with mockery.
“It seems that you’re really too arrogant to accept help from us.”
Yan Wei glanced at the other students of Class 20 with a sneer.
Yang Nian couldn’t be wrong with his statistics.
If that was the case, then the review materials in their hands had obviously been reprinted by an outsider, which was illegal.
They were all pirated!
If it was sold by someone from International High School, then they’d also be able to know who had sold it to them. The code would be scanned, which would immediately be traced to the seller.
It must be a pirated copy.
Given that Yao Tang also admitted that she was the one who had taken everything, that meant that she’d be responsible.
It was too good to be true!
Now that Yao Tang had already offered her to check it herself, then Yan Weiwas more than willing to help her. A smirk showed on her face.
With a thought in mind, Yan Wei took out her phone.
She flipped to the school’s official website and clicked on the category which was dedicated to checking these books.
She glanced at the anti-counterfeiting code on the inside of the cover.
Just based on the quality of the page, the review didn’t seem like a pirated version. It was no different from a genuine version.
This was interesting.
Yan Wei raised her phone and scanned the anti-counterfeiting code. A smug smile spread across her lips, and her eyes lit up.
However, as soon as her screen flashed, the smile was gone from her face.
She couldn’t help but hold the book even closer and scanned the code again. However, the result on the phone was still the same one.
How could this be?
It seemed that the review material wasn’t pirated at all!
But…
From afar, Xi Yan, as well as the other students from Class 20 were all nervously glancing over at Yan Wei, waiting for their result.
When the crowd saw the disbelieving look on her face, they felt relieved.
If the phone displayed a pirated version of the code, then Yan Wei would definitely look even more arrogant.
It meant that the results favored them.
“So, what’s the result?” Qin Jing spoke.
Her eyes were glittering.
Yan Wei was at a loss for words. She gripped the phone even more tightly as she scanned it over again. Even then, the results stayed the same.
Yang Nian stared, puzzled by the results.
He stepped even closer to Yan Wei, unsure of what to think.
“The book has been officially sold by our school,” she finally replied. “I’m just not sure if it’s the same for the other books.”
Yan Wei scowled. “You’re pretty lucky, but even your luck runs out.”
The review materials must be a mixture of legitimate and pirated.
Some of the books were bought by the government, but most of the books must have been disgusted as authentic.
The first copy must’ve just been a coincidence.
Under everyone’s gazes, she grabbed yet another review material from the desk.
While she appeared calm, there was a slight tremor in her hands.
