Chapter 458 - Illegitimate Daughter

Qin Jing glared at Yan Wei. Her eyes were swimming with disgust and disdain. “He may have other needs, but you still couldn’t compare to him. You’re nothing but an illegitimate daughter of the Yan Family.”

As soon as the words had escaped her lips, Yan Wei’s entire body trembled. Her fingernails dug into her palms. How dare she?

She defiantly glared at her.

“You must be the pride and joy of the Qin Family. Otherwise, why would your family ship you all the way to City A? It couldn’t be that they were embarrassed by you, could they?”

Yan Wei snorted. “Oops, was that a sore topic?”

“You—” Before she could even say anything, she saw Meng Yang standing up from his stool. The stool grazed against the flooring, its crackling sound echoing across the room.

Qin Jing took a step back.

Yan Wei pursed her lips. What was he going to do against her?

However, before she could speak against her, a gust of wind blew right by her ear.

SMACK!

Yan Wei felt a wave of pain kissing her on a cheek. She immediately staggered back, clutching the side of her face, unsure of what to think.

Her entire face was frozen in shock and disbelief. She couldn’t believe that someone who dare touch her, much less hit her! Suddenly, her cheeks became flushed as she turned to find the culprit.

Just then, she saw Yao Tang by the corner, wiping her palm with a wet tissue.

There wasn’t a single trace of apology on her face.

“I’m sorry,” she said softly. “I hit you on purpose.”

Everyone in Class 20 was stunned.

Who would’ve thought that Yao Tang would make a move?

She didn’t even give her a chance to dodge! She just went in and slapped her right on the face. The red palm print was evident on Yan Wei’s face.

Of course, no one could blame her. If it was really their choice, they would’ve wanted to do it themselves as well.

It’s just that, they knew that their name wouldn’t survive if they were to mess with someone from the Yan Family. This type of impulsive thought was something they shouldn’t entertain.

After all, Yan Wei was still an exchange student, and the status of the Yan Family was well above most of them. They must consider their actions very carefully.

They wouldn’t want to make an enemy of her.

The last thing they needed was to pull their family into this.

She actually went forward to slap her!

Yao Tang—was the only one among them who didn’t really have a strong family background. In fact, from what they all knew about her, was that she was simply a cool girl from the countryside.

Everyone blinked back in surprise.

Yao Tang really didn’t care about anything.

The people of Class 20 thought of making a move at the start, especially after Yan Wei had insulted Qin Jing, but Yao Tanghad already made the move for them.

“Sorry. I hit you on purpose.”

A small smile played on Qin Jing’s lips as she stared at her friend with warmth swimming in her eyes.

She can’t believe that Yao Tang would defend her like this.

However, on the other side, Yan Wei was trembling. All she could hear were her words echoing at the back of her mind.

She did it on purpose…

Who the hell was she to have done this to her?

“Why, you—” Yan Wei reached out her hand to cover her burning cheek as an evil light shone in her eyes. She raised her other hand and was about to hit the woman’s face.

What she didn’t expect was for the bitch to pinch her hand before she could do anything else. She sputtered, trying to break free from her strenuous hold.

“Let go!”

“Let go!” She struggled as a look of exasperation appeared in her features.

Yao Tang suddenly let go of her hand, and Yan Weistaggered backward.

“Do you want to die?”

Yan Wei turned around and swung her fist toward her.

This time, Qin Jing made a move.

She jumped back and countered her fist.

SMACK!

The crisp sound echoed across the room, and the back of Yan Wei’s hand inevitably turned red once again.
